I want to put 1 image AND my text in 1 external XML file.I can load either one of them in seperate XML files.I need this because I want my content to be scrollable on my website and with this my image has to scroll with my text.I got following AS3 put in now:

Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

The contents of myText.txt are <a href=(not sure what to put here)> Product 1 </a> But all that does is put it in the text output section in flash.It does not show it in flash. I need help getting it to show up in a text box.That is the first part But the main problem is im not sure how to code the a href correctly so that when i click it, another text file opens in the second text box.So that when a user clicks on a product ,like "Product 1" It opens the correct description text file in the second text box.
I'm new to flash as a whole but it is necessary for a project that I'm working on. How to make a scrolling dynamic text box through trial and error, and I'm proud of that feature. But now I need to know if two things are possible. Can I create a hyperlink (if I can call it that) that will pull documents off of the web? And if so what is a sample function. The second thing I would like to know is can I embed an image file into that dynamic text box? If so how can I do that.

I've pretty much got it running the way I want, but I've just tried it on a few different computers and realised that the fonts aren't embedded. I've used our corporate font so it needs to look right. Having read the following documentation [URL] I now understand how to embed fonts for one dynamic text object at a time. However, I have a lot of different dynamic text objects in the file and I would dearly love to embed them all in one step! The same embedding options can be applied to just about all objects, as they're all the same size and font.

I've been using Flash for a few years now and I've recently (5 months+) started using CS5 package.My query is how do I successfully embed accented latin characters into a "classic" dynamic text field in my compiled Flash movie that are called from an external text file. I've searched the various forums online and all the methods demonstrated have not worked.
What I've done so far is to to select my dynamic text field, click on "Embed" within the PROPERTIES area, choose the font and the weight, then add any of the foreign characters and/or glyphs to the "Also include these characters:" area then finish up and compile. When I run my SWF file, the glyphs and accented fonts are missing but all the other typical Latin characters show up.
I tried this same method in CS4 (because we have an old Mac in the office too), and almost the same thing happened except instead of completely missing out the glyphs and fonts, it showed a box (almost like an image placeholder) instead.

I am storing the co-ordinates in a text file. I am using MultiDimensional Array to store X,Y co-ordinates. But now I am facing a problem that how to load these variables into the flash back and using these redraw the image. I've been trying to format a text field using html in an xml file. So far it's been working fine but I tried to load an image to the text field and I got this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type.
I figured I had my image in the wrong format (it was a jpg) so I tried png and gif with no results. Here's my xml file

View 9 RepliesI have this swf file, i don't have the .fla file for it. I need it to be able to play in my current .fla file when called upon. I also really need it to be embedded. Don't ask me why, but the client wants only one swf file, and if i load the swf in as an external file the program they use, will not be able to display this loaded swf file.
