ActionScript 3.0 :: Finding Way To Determin When Video Is Complete?
Jun 5, 2009
video starts playing when project loadsButton ONE pauses the video and places a smaller video over the first video. When this second video completes I would like it to be removed and the first video resumed. As it's currently written I have to use button Two to accomplish this task I me ho to determin when video is complete then I won't need to use button Two.here's my code:
import fl.controls.ComboBox;import fl.video.*;import flash.filters.*;
var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection();var connection1:NetConnection = new NetConnection();var stream:NetStream;var stream1:NetStream;var md_obj:Object = new
I am wanting to play a number of movie clips and flash produced video clips. On the main timeline I have a frame for each clip I want to play. In that frame is a flash movie that contains the video that I have embedded onto the timeline for the movie. The filesize for this project is massive and I am struggling to work on the file. I want to be able to play the video files with the playback component in each of the frames where the video was.
I am trying to build my first AS 3.0 project using examples from O'relliy. I have loaded an FLV using the NetStream class. I added an Event Listener find out when the video has finished playing, probably not the right method. After the video finishes, I'd like to load a static image and a replay button. What should I use to trigger these things to load? What should I use to load them?
I'm using NetStream to show my videos, everything works fine except the annoying lagging that I get after the video has buffered. The video simply skips/ jumps to the point that it had buffered to, stops and waits again for the same amount of it to buffer then plays normally.Me changing the seconds that it takes to buffer doesn't effect it. The action script is as follows:
stop(); ns.play("blank");//stops video playing in the background var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
I have a video (that im calling from my harddrive) that i would love to play once through,then jump onto the next frame (where theres another video that continues from the end of the first). Why can i not use the following code to jump?
I am trying to create a video feed screen that pulls in from 4 different usb cameras attached to my computer. As of now my file only pulls in the feed from the built in camera on my macbook pro. Here's the code I'm using to find the cameras. Anyone know how to find the external usb cameras? You can check it out and running at [URL] or grab the fla and see what's up.
ActionScript Code: // Set up some new entries on the context menu for changing video capture size var newMenu = new ContextMenu(); newMenu.hideBuiltInItems();
I have a video complete event that was working wonderfully, when it was part of my main SWF, but now I have pulled it out and have it as an external SWF and is being loaded into the main timeline. Now it does not work.
I now get this error on compiling:
Code: Symbol 'reconnect_video', Layer 'Actions', Frame 141, Line 61119: Access of possibly undefined property COMPLETE through a reference with static type Class. The code that is causing the error is as follows:
Code: import fl.video.VideoEvent; reconn.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, completeHandlerReconn); function completeHandlerReconn(event:VideoEvent):void{
[Code].....
This is code is inside off a movieClip called "reconnect_video" which is nested inside of a movieClip called "journal_open". So the parent of this movieClip should still be the same. The "journal_open" movie clip is the one that was removed from the original SWF. (due to size) I am now loading "journal_open" externally, and since then this error has appeared.
Do I have to do something different since this is no longer the main SWF?
I have a video inside of another movieclip. When I go full screen, I scale up the outer movieclip to fit the screen. So that OuterMovieClip.width is equal to screenWidth etc. How do I maintain the aspect ratio on my video so it does not get distorted? Whats the proper math for that?
I made a test where I download a file using URLLoader - something like this:
[Code]....
in the middle of the downloading process I physically disconnect the internet connection. the download stalls - but after aproximately 30 seconds downloadSuccessful is invoked, although only half of the data was downloaded. how can I make sure that the data to be downloaded is complete and correct?
I am loading in binary files with the url class which can be quite large 10mb + and it works fine on my server but another server I am testing on it can sometimes not work. Sometimes it will not load the file and other times it will only load about 20% and it throw a complete event??? Then of course other times it works fine. This server is https maybe that has something to do this it?
I'm using OSMF v.95 to handle my video playback. When my streaming videos finish, the following error is triggered:"NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound"I want to be able to re-play the videoor scrub back, but the stream is unusable after that error.I've tested against a few different streams - here is one:
Recently i have visited so many video enriched flash site like this one [URL] Most of them shows video in full size. I downloaded the video using FF plugin. Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..
I made a video in After Effect and export it to flash as a FLV video.. and write de code to load it into flash.. but I need it to loop.. Here is the code
I need to find an instance of a movieclip that is on my flash file. It is really big and uses a lot of memory. It says on the number of times used that there is one instance of the object on the flash file, but I can't find it. I thought I deleted them all but there must be one left. How do I go about finding it? It's a really large flash file with many layers, and I don't want to just delete the library file. Is there any way I can find where the object is placed in my file?
I'd like to use the x and y mouse coordinates as variables in a program. I'm very new to Flash and ActionScript and I'm not even sure which classes I need to import or which listeners or handlers I need to use.
We have a client server architecture where a C++ server talks to Flash clients. I'm developing the server and would like to send through tcp an xy coord to simulate a button press where the receiving flash client would find the topmost visible object at that coord and send a mouse event to it such that we could simulate play without a human present. I'm told this is incredibly difficult, but it seems to me that there must be a way to do this. Am I off the mark? Or is there a mechanism in flash to iterate through all objects regardless of parent child relationships to find a visible button at an x, y coord and signal a press event?
This should be a simple one. I am running an IF statement that needs to check the 5th value in a pre-populated array. I'm finding it hard to find the right method of searching the array.
[Code]....
indexOf seems to just return where the value is...but I already know where it is! I just want to know WHAT it is! There will also be values that are exactly the same in other positions in the array. I have to focus in specifically on the 5th value.
I need to break a number down to be represented by a randomly ordered sequence of 2s and 3s.[code]I'm currently doing this with a loop in ActionScript 3 but have been looking into the possibility of using some kind of mathematical formula to save me a few lines of code. I'm a bit of a sop when it comes to Math and I've not yet found anything suitable.
At some point I will have created a MC on the stage. Later on, I want to put a different on in its place. The original MC may, or may not, be there.So I need to first check and see if it is there, whack it if it is, then add my new one.I know the name of the variable I used to create the MC, but I think the problem is I did this from INSIDE another clip. When I am trying to find it and remove it, I am outside that clip, so I don't think the main timeline knows of that variable. So when I try:if(ribbonEGM) removeChild(ribbonEGM);[code]How can I test and remove the ribbonEGM clip from the main timeline?
I have made a few posts now, and I'd like to especially Prid for not only answering them, but for giving me guidance on how to learn AS2. I am progressing very nicely, and have made a couple of simple games without any tutorials, but theres one thing I couldn't find. I have this character which can move, up and down, left and right. I also have an enemy trying to shoot at him. However, this enemy needs to know where the character is. I already have the shooting code (Prid), but it was for shooting in the direction of the mouse. What I need now is to replace the bit of code that finds the mouse coordinates with code that finds the coordinates of the player.
The shooting code is on the frame (doubt that is important to say, but still) and the instance AND name of the Character is, well, Character. So basically, I need a code to calculate coordinates of a movie clip that does not have a fixed position. Oh and one more thing, should I post simple stuff like this in the beginner section, because I've seen waaay more complicated stuff there than in the AS2 section.
My main loads an external swf. Then it creates a bunch of ball movie clips on the stage. I need to reference the content from labeled frames in the external swf. In AS2 all you had to do was use _level.
I am wondering if Flash has a built in way of finding if a value in an array exists. IndexOf only works with string values, but I couldn't find any function that tries to find a value of any data type in an array.
If there isn't one, I will just end up using this:
Code: contains = function (array, input) { for (i=0; i<array.length; i++) { if (array[i] == input) { return 1; } } };
I am trying not to use my own functions for things that Flash already has built-in, so I just want to double check with you all in case I missed something
