ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Dropdown Submenu Visible When Entering Site?

I have a flash dropdown menu with submenus below. Currently the menu has 5 main buttons and when you mouse over each button they have horizontal submenus below.I would like the first button "HOME" to display it's submenu options when you enter the site - basically to be visible without having to mouse-over. The problem is that people don't see that there are submenus straight away.all the main buttons are within a movieclip called "nav" with the following actionscript:

and has the nav2 movieclip inside with the dropdown buttons each on a frame.How can I set the first dropdown to be visible instead of using the onclipevent?

So here is the question, I'm trying to make a dropdown menu (DESIGN) with submenus (INTERIOR) (EXTERIOR) etc...But when i finnaly completed the dropdown script and i started linking (interior) and (exterior) submenusto the frame i want, what happens is that i rollover (DESIGN) appears (INTERIOR) and (EXTERIOR)i click over (EXTERIOR) and it brings up the frame i want, and when i drag my mouse over the //area of DESIGN Dropdown menu\ againit takes me back to frame number 1 (HOME).What i want is to stay on the page i requested until i choose to go to another one, by clicking and not go to (HOME) everytime i drag my mouse over the Dropdown menu area.

What is the best way to keep a sub menu visible? The way I have it coding, is onRollOver the menu button, the sub menu is displayed. I want the submenu to disappear onRollOut of the entire menu... how would you do this?

I designed an entirely based flash site and suddenly was informed that on the iPhone a user sees just a black screen, on my SmartPhone I see and icon of a page on a white background. How do I make my site be visible on iPhone or SmartPhone, and I guess on Android phones as well.

Is there a way to increase traffic for flash web site. Is there an action script to make your flash website "visible" for others. I heard that if I build a flash web site it will be difficult to get customers due to the fact that flash pages usually don't show up in the data bases. Is it right?
so anyhow is there a way to increase traffic or make my flash site "visible' in search engines. do you think building a splash page in html and then redirect them to flash is a good idea?

My dropdown menus work fine with tthe swf and xml file offline, but once I upoload them to my domain the dropdowns are all buggy and get stuck and don't drop down fully. I'm not sure what the problem is, does anybody have a possible solution.[URL]..

I'm having with a menu navigation system. I'm using Flash MX. I have created a menu system for the site I'm building ([URL]) where one of the buttons "Choose photographer" drops down a list of names. All the other buttons just jump to another page. The drop down is currently using tweens also the logo moves to the left as the dropdown appears and returns when the dropdown returns. All working fine apart from its a bit jerky.
It's I just wanted to get away from tweening and use action scripts instead, as I'm a newbie to all things Flash I trawled the net for tutorials and examples so that I could cobble together the exact same effect. I have managed to get the drop down work and return using the action script and it does seem smoother and works slightly better. But can I get the logo to move to the left and back in time with the drop down...no.

I've been using sen's flash/xml drop-down menu tutorial, and I have been able to create the following for (mt):url...If you rollover the first item, you will notice that the submenu loads to the right side. What I would like to have is something similar to the following attached image. Also, the code I am using can be found in the attached FLA.I know how to make the menu appear directly below the parent node, but the problem is that I am unable to shift the menu items down so that the menu items don't overlap over the existing menu items. You can see an example of what I am trying to do in the attached image.Does anybody have any insight on how to accomplish that. I tried finding the name of each movie clip and shifting them downward, but it seems that none of the movie clip names correlate to the actual menu item - therefore, I am unable to shift them downwards in order to make a space for them.

I'm creating a webpage, and I have made some buttons.Image 1 is the homepage, which is frame 1 in Flash.Image 2 shows that when I rollover the button "Portfolio,"I get a dropdown menu.I have this set as frame 3 in Flash.Image 3 shows that I've gone down the dropdown menu and rolled over "Photography." But if I rollout of any of the things from the dropdown menu, it stays at Image 2 (Frame 3)with the dropdown menu visible. Which is a problem...I want to be able to rollout of these buttons to revert back to the homepage, Image 1 (Frame 1).But, for instance, telling "Graphic Design" to go to Frame 1 on rollout means that if I try to go below "Graphic Design" to "Photography," I've rolled out--and so the rest of the menu disappears.So I want to roll be able to select anything from the dropdown menu, and only rollout to Frame 1 if I go outside the entire dropdown menu, not just one button.

actually i have an image gallery in a seperate HTML page, I want to embed it into the main html page containing the menu, but even after using the code <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> or <param name="wmode" value="opaque"> the submenu is still hiding behind the flash. I also tried by changing z-index values, still didn't work.

I have a viewstack with two containing canvases. Canvas 1 is used when in normal mode and canvas 2 which is used when in full screen mode.
To properly resize the objectInViewStack2 I need to know how large the screen is when in full screen mode.

i have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.

My problem is, that i have a flash banner, with a menu above it. The menu has a dropdown though, and in internet explorer 7 the dropdown shows behind the flash banner. I've tried everything (what I know of, and what I have found here on stackoverflow), but nothing seems to do the trick.
Here is a link You can find the problem up in the right corner, if you hover over "Select Country: ...".
I've tried to change the wmode to transparent and opaque, but it didn't work. Just to make sure, I did this by adding a <param value="transparent" name="wmode"> in the object tag, and then add the attribute wmode="transparent".

I want to click on an object and make it appear and disappear. As the object is rectangular, I figured putting a white button the same size on a white background on a layer underneath the object would do this, but I can't seem to make it happen.I'm a complete novice, frustrated as I've been trying to achieve this all day and I'm sure it should be pretty simple, but could you give me the idiots guide. I know how to name an instance, make an object, script in actions on a separate layer. I would like to draw the button myself and give it an instance rather than drag it off the button component (as I can't work out how to make the component button white, change its size etc.!)

I have a css drop down menu on the header portion of my website and the flash movie plays on the center of the site. The problem is, when the drop down menu is clicked it goes under the flash movie so that people can't see what is on the menu. Not sure if this is something that can be adjusted on the parameters of the movie or not?

I was looking for some information before proceeding with the work, I was looking to create a navigation bar in Flash with drop down menus coming form some of the links. Now will this require the visitor to have JavaScript enabled, I'm just a little cautious as I want the links in the drop down to be available to everyone, and if they do need Javascript enabled how do i get round this.....

I'm maintaining a ActionScript 2 application which uses createEmptyMovieClip to create dropdown lists (the list items being attached as movieclips). I can close the dropdown directly via removeMovieClip and such, obviously.
My problem is this: the dropdown should not only be closed when an item is clicked or the button creating it is triggered again, but also anytime the user clicks anywhere outside the dropdown (like onReleaseOutside, except the click also STARTS outside).
So far the only solution I can see is turning _root (or an invisible layer) into a button by proving an onRelease for it, but that's hackish in that it makes _root be treated like a button by Flash (pointer mouse cursor and all that). Do not want!

I am building a flash banner ad that contains a dropdown list of US states. Once the list is clicked I want to pass the state code onto the end of the url for the ad.I used to be ok with actionscript but it was several years ago, and I'm wondering if its possible to have the ad grab the URL from the parent <a href> and just tack the state code onto it.I assume this is how clickTags work?[code]Can anyone offer any tips on how best to do this? I'm fine with building the actual ad, its just I'm not sure if I need to hard code 50 urls into my dropdown? It seems a bad way of doing things, and I'm sure theres a better way?
