Want to get custom image and which should be dragabble into drawing area...Below is the sample design which exactly i am looking for.
How to get custome image which i have rounded in red mark aslo i t should have input and output ports for ex:For TwoWaySplit.EU.OTHERS it contains IN as inputport and for Outputports:OTHERS and EU.same in the case with TwoWaySplit.US.OTHERS it contains IN as inputport and for Outputports:OTHERS and US and for main component it contains one input port and three output ports as shown in the diagram.Along with that node it should also display those ports and also when we move the node those ports should also move.
I've created a drawing tool which allows the user to draw on the canvas, the problem is that if I try to draw over a movieclip nothing happens. Is there a way I can allow for the user to draw over movieclips? For example if I had a background of paper?

Since at least cs3, Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop has all had the Alt + mouse wheel zoom function. I have wondered when this would become available in flash. I just installed my cs5 design premium and immediately noticed that the zooming function has been further improved in the other programs but still nothing has happened in flash.
Am I missing some way to enable this zoom function or is there some third party plugin that can help me? It is annoying and time consuming to have to press z then click around to get the right zoom level and then click whatever tool I was using before instead of just pressing alt and scrolling a bit.
I'm trying to create a drawing application in flash CS4, but I need the viewers to draw in a certain area only, and I want the cursor to change into a brush when I am hovering over that certain area. I tried adding an if statement to check if the cursor is in that certain area, but now it doesn't draw at all.

I've never used the drawing function on Flash and I followed the fairly simple tute on it just recently. Is there any way to confine the drawing area to a specific shape. Mine's a rectangluar shape that's rotated. You can download my FLA with the background image here > [URL]. I'd like to try and keep it confined to the notepad area. I think it might be a hitTest thing with if/else. My other thing would be to just rotate the notepad so that it's straight. Even still I'd like it confined to the area beginning with the corner of the notepad, not the corner of my movie.
I need to know how to script the drawing board as in the user can only draw on a specified area. For example, on a 800x600 layout, only 1/4 of it is the drawing board.After the user has drawn the image, when he/she clicks on a button, the image will be replicated on another area in the same 800x600 space. So far, I can only manage to make a drawing board on the whole 800x600 space and erasing.
By the way i want to make a visualization about a math process to show partial function graph.
I think i can make a scene which in 1000x1000 pixels. I'll start from top of scene and when i press a button i'll move camera to second section which i want to do sketch. I want to make a sketchpad which can draw in a 2 part movieclip. First part is -X section of XY Axis Graph. Second part is +X section of XY Axis Graph. I'll put image of XY Axis Graph to -X and +X section of XY Axis Graph. So it'll be seem like one part. And i'll draw to -X section. After that i'll skip to second sketchpad with camera. And i'll make same thing. But for now i'll draw to +X. And when i press conclusion button camera will skip to bottom of scene and move -X of figure1 and +X of figure2 to bottom. So i can see figure1's -X section and figure2's +X section as merged in bottom. So it'll show to me partial function graph.
But problem is sketchpad is drawing to _root. So i'm unable to move sketch or shapes on XY Axis Graph. But if i can draw that to movie clip i can move it like an object with drawing and merge it like i want.
So i want to make a sketchpad which make drawing in limits of movieclip.
how i can do it ? Also i'm using following code:

ive just checked the help files but couldnt find an answer for this, so i hope anyone can help me out here...i have a custom shape inside a movieClip, and i want to detect when another clip hits it.but the really strange thing is that when i publish my fla, the hitTest detects the hits as if my shape is a rectangle (only looks for the width and height of the movieclip), not the drawing i did...
i tried cashAsBitmap, aplied a mask to the movieclip with the shape, but nothing worked.... anyone ever had this problem?
Is there a way to make the transparent area from an png image not to register when I add with a mouse event to that image? What is happening is the rectangle around the symbol is effected by the mouse event.
I'd like to be able to use a pencil image (custom cursor?) to draw in a defined area - its the 'ol pencil drawing a line idea on a pad. I don't know how to define the area? I've tried creating either a btn or mc instance called pad_mc & trying rollOver/Out which confines the pen but not the line. This is what I have so far, which works (ie it draws the line) but obviously it goes everywhere, not just over the mc of the pad.
I'm making a Flash game, and I've encountered a really weird problem while trying to draw a polygonal shape in Box2D.

Where vertexArray is a valid array containing 4 b2Vec2 vertices, making up a convex shape.The problem is, when I test, collisions don't work right for that body. Most other objects -enemies, user-controlled characters - pass straight through, as if the body isn't there at all. Some raycasts pass through as well.
Infuriatingly enough, one kind of bodies I have (a custom enemy) somehow does detect the body and collides with it. The raycasts that particular kind of enemy attempts do work - when your character hides behind the polygon, it's like they can't see him.The other weird thing: when I try the same code, only go for SetAsBox instead of SetAsArray, it works exactly as it should.I'm using a custom ContactListener class, but I haven't done any contact filtering (unless it's possible to do that without realising).I'm using the Flash 9 version of Box2D 2.1a.

I'm working on my personal portfolio site and desperately need help with some AS3. my knowledge about AS3 is very rudimentary. Hope anyone who's I want to change the pointer cursor to custom movieclip when mouseover different invisible buttons. These buttons are mainly forward & backward button for my gallery. I got some help from other site but still unsolved. Please take a look at my fla attachment to point out what's wrong with the coding. To elaborate a little bit more as what I wish to achieve you can take a look at the sample URL...I just need the pointer cursor to turn to custom mc when it mouseover the hit area of the respective buttons.
How i open my custom menu over right click on Text Area control, currently default menue of paste, Copy, Cut etc is opened.Please keep in mind that i want to open custom context menu over TextArea Control of Flex.
I have created a component that I want to add to all of my panels that allows It works reasonably well.The last (hopefully) issue that I have is that I want to embed the image in the class. Doing this causes the click event not to fire.If I us"this.source='assets/info.png'" everything works OK. If however, I embed the image as shown below, the image displays, but is not clickable.
in AS 3.0. The requirement is, user needs todraw something and take a screenshot or in the PDF format fromflash swf by clicking a Save button[Save button will be in the sameflash file]. Is it possible in AS 3.0 with out any plug-ins?
I would like to reveal an image by drawing over it with the mouse. The drawing part is not a problem but I don't succeede with masking the image with the drawing. Here is my code:

I am trying to make a text editor in Flex. i can move image on mouse click. Problem is it moves with the key up or down handler. But it moves out of text area after the last line in textarea. And it also doesn't move with scroll.
Here's the deal: I am working on a site that provides information for art buyers. Pricing, where to buy and things like that. The page is done in php, mysql, and some jQuery here and there.One of the things they want to implement is a live stream of auctions. What they want is something like this:Where on the left you'd see the stream -instead of the black block- and on the right, the image of the work that is currently being sold, with the artist name, title and price. That's what The image on the left should change as the auction progresses.What I need is to have and option in the admin area on the page, where the administrator can select the image to display. So, to implement this, I would need to:Connect to the database to get the information: pictures, data, etc.
Loop trough the record to get a list. From that list, the user will select the image he wants shown on the webpage.Have the admin area send the image to be displayed to the page, and have the page change it dynamically, without the user having to refresh the page.The first two points are no problem, what I'm not quite sure how to do is the third one. Flash? Some from of Javascript? I leaning towards flash, but anything will do. I'm sure what I'm asking for is nothing that hasn't been done before, but my google-fu has failed me on this one. I need to develop a flash too that can capture a 800 X 600 image from a VERY larger image. The user will click on a spot on the image and this spot where he clicks will be the centre point of the new image that will be generated. The problem is this, when his centre point is less than 400px from e.g. the left, I need to capture the overlapping area on the right hand side of the image.
