I am reading midi files in as3 (flash cs5) with the help of the helpful library that is called midas [URL]- the midi-as3 library. I am trying to figure out a simple way to calculate the whole duration of the midi file (for example - total time of 4 minutes or 6 minutes...). I assume I could calculate the last note of each track + check the tempo and figure it out, but I was wondering if: Is the duration of the midi file is written somewhere in the data that I could just pull out and use?

Is it possible to play the video (mp4) in real time using some flash player? What I mean by in real-time is that player would receive data on the fly, not from alredy saved file but e.g. php script (which sends appropriate content-type header) THAT IS DOWNLOADING AND 'ECHO-ing' THE FILE AT THE TIME PLAYER PLAYS IT - like e.g. some kind of live stream.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Streaming Mp3 Length / How To Get It

May 19, 2009

I am using as2 to stream some mp3s. At the moment I have an attribute within the xml for giving me the length.I guess the length for the mp3s is buried in the mmp3 file somewhere. If I load the files in totally first, then I can get at the info (ID3 is it?) however, this doesn't work for streaming them . Or rather, I can't make it work! (I have found posts which suggest making an estimate if you know how much has downloaded in so many seconds and you know the length etc etc - but this is exactly that - an estimate!)So my question is how do I get the length of an mp3 clip that I am going to stream?

ActionScript 3.0 :: NetStream.time - Misreporting Time On Streaming Flv?

Feb 13, 2009

Is there a particular reason that when you stream a video your _netStream.time will misreport the elapsed time of the stream? I've tested streaming vs progressive download and discovered that while progressive netStream.time seems spot-on accurate the streaming netStream.time is behind the actual running time of the flv.

In other words, the video has played to completion and stopped, but the seek bar has only progressed 85% of the way through on a stream.

Is this something to do with the sample rate of the video, or some other encoding issue?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Disable Buttons For A Length Of Time, Then Enable Them Again?

Sep 21, 2008

I'm using this script to go between sections with a fade out before loading the next section...

Code:
stop();
menuButton1.onRelease = function() {-code]..... which works great, playing the "out" fade-out before loading the next section, but if for example the fade-out takes 8secs, if someone presses one of the other buttons before its got to the end, it plays from the "out" label again. So if someone gets inpatient and just starts clicking away they will just keep looping the fade-out and nothing will load.

Is there a way to disable the buttons after pressing for long enough for the fade-out, but then become active again?

Flex :: Getting .length Of Custom Component Id Within A Repeater Works Sometimes But Not All The Time?

Jun 7, 2011

I have a repeater that populates a component, called 'project'. The project components are given an ID of 'wholeProject'. In all of my functions up until now, I was able to determine how many project components were made by doing the following:

wholeProject.length;

I used this in for loops, for each loops, and for changing the item settings within a project, i.e. something like this:

wholeProject[i].studentName = "Billy Bob";

However, I'm creating a new function that does not seem to like this wholeProject.length reference. I'm using it within the same level as all the others (i.e. the parent level). So far, my function is simply this:

public function getStudentYears():void
{
Alert.show(String(wholeProject.length));
}

when the application loads, the alert message simply does not appear. If I change the alert to something like this:

Alert.show("This is just a test.");

it works just fine. But for some reason, the wholeProject.length doesn't work in this function whereas it does in all my other ones.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Timer - Making The Movie Clips Appear 4 Times Randomly Throughout That Length Of Time

Jan 23, 2010

I have an mp3 playing. What I would like is to have a movieclip that is located in the library appear, complete it's animation then get removed. The movie clip must complete this proccess 4 times, randomly during the length of the song but never at the same time and not in the last 5 seconds of the song. BTW I can't do this manually by just firing it off a random amount of times because this code will be used with lots of different mp3's, so I need to use the dynamic data I get by retrieving the song length.

I have the code working to retrieve the length of the song, and I have a variable that stores the length minus 5 seconds from the end, so I bascially have the length of time I wish to work with. My problem is making the movie clips appear 4 times randomly throughout that length of time. The code is below (what I have so far), the movieclip is stored in the library as circle_mc.

The timer I'm using at the beginning of the code (to retrieve the length of the song) is set to run after 2 seconds this is because there is a delay in the music starting and if it did it instantly the number retrieved obviously would be 0, so I delay it by 2 secs till I know the song is playing. At the moment I'm just trying to get it to fire twice, at the moment it fires once or not at all

It does not matter if I import the video to a timeline, or stream it progressively from the server. Both clips are uploaded.

Is that possible to streaming a video from a certain time.

For an example i want to start the video from the time of 1.23 min but its always start from 0 only

time= something in millisecond;

I gave nsStream.seek(time) but even its start from 0 only.This is because the stream is not available for that time.

So can we start video streaming from mentioned timing is that possible.

I don't want to use FMS or Red5 for this.I know there is a possibility using server.

Android :: H.264 Real-time Streaming Timestamp In NAL Units?

May 10, 2011

I'm trying to build a system that live-streams video and audio captured by android phones. Video and auido are captured on the android side using MediaRecorder, and then pushed directly to a server written in python. Clients should access this live feed using their browser, so the I implemented the streaming part of the system using flash. Right now both video and audio content appear on the client side, but the problem is that they are out of sync. I'm sure this is caused by wrong timestamp values in flash (currently I increment ts by 60ms for a frame of video, but clearly this value should be variable).

The audio is encoded into amr on the android phone, so I know exactly each frame of amr is 20ms. However, this is not the case with video, which is encoded into H.264. To synchronized them together, I would have to know exactly how many millisecs each frame of H.264 lasts, so that I can timestamp them later when delivering content using flash. My question is is this kind of information available in NAL units of H.264?

Actionscript 3 :: Remove Equally Spaced Elements From An Array With Length Of 'n' To Match A Given Length 'y'?

Mar 9, 2011

Let's say I have array foo and a positive integer y, where foo.length > y.I want to remove elements from foo so that foo.length becomes y (or very close to it).Also, I need to preserve the first and last element of foo. The indices of the removed elements must be spaced apart as equally as possible. Foo can be sliced, or it can be used to create a new array.

Example: if foo = [a,b,c,d,e,f,g,1,2,3,4,5] and y = 6, then trimmedfoo could be [a,c,e,g,2,4,5] or maybe [a,c,e,2,4,5], but not [a,c,e,g,2,4] because the last element of foo is missing.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Getting The Length Of A MP3 File?

Sep 30, 2006

I need to get the length of an MP3 file.I tried using the following code: myFile.id3.TLEN; yet it didn't work.I copied (and changed a bit) the code from the help files and got this thingy:

myFile.onID3 = function(){
for( var prop in myFile.id3 ){
trace( prop + " : "+ myFile.id3[prop] );
}
}
myFile.loadSound(run_url, false);

The code shows me all the parameters I can get. Seems like my MP3 file used id3v1 which may not support time length, so using Winamp 5.3 (last update), I passed the information to id3v2.so I got some more parameters. Here's the output:

COMM :
TIT2 : MySong
TPE1 : Almonimus
TYER : 2006

[code]....

Seems like I still don't have the required parameters in the id3tag. I am aware that Winamp doesn't support id3v2.4 very well, so I downloaded a demo of Tag&Rename 3.2, and as you can guess, even after opening the file and resaving it, I can't get this parameter.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Use Length Of XML File To Tween Movieclip?

I'm creating a horizontal scrolling gallery in which the content is loaded through xml. So far the xml loads fine and the content is easily nested within movieclips and positioned within a larger movieclip containing each of the movieclips containing the content. With that said, I am able to move this main movieclip left and right with no problem using a tween and a fixed position but I have no way of stopping the movieclip according to how much content is in the xml file. I'm attempting to use the length of the xml file to move this main movieclip but either it can't be done or my coding is wrong.[code]...
