ActionScript 3.0 :: Getting Buttons To Work With Image Transitions Through Xml

I have been trying to figure out this problem for a couple days. I made an animation using actionscript 3.0 and the GreenSock TweenLite to load images in through XML in flash. When you click the button (btn1) to go to the next image, it animates in perfectly, but since I am multiplying 140 each time, if I click btn1 while the image is transitioning in, it adds another 140 to that value and the next image goes off the screen. Think of it as a slot machine effect, witch is pretty much what it looks like. The images load in as if they're on a reel, vertically. I would like to know how to set a limit so that instead of adding 140 to the value, it goes to the next image instead, and centers it perfectly in the mask I have set up. Do you guys get what I am trying to do? If not, I can zip the folder up and attach it here, but it's a project for a client so I'm a bit weary.
Again, quick summary: btn1, if clicked more than once during the span of the image transitioning in (through XML and gs.tweenlite), the image gets 140 added to its positional value and goes off the screen.

i've used an empty moveclip and loaded external swfs into it using buttons. Each of the swfs has an intro and outro and uses the transition action script from the tutorial on this website. When I navigate through the site on my computer the transitions work fine, but when I go to the actual uploaded site none of the movies load up. All of the swfs are in the same folder on the site so surely I only need the "the_name.swf" as the path.
I have made some buttons that call in external swf files and these work perfectly on my own machine when tested in various browsers. My problem is when i upload to the server and then test in the browser, the buttons don't work anymore. perhaps if you have server space you can test it out for me and then delete them?

I would like to play out a movie that has been loaded (if it has been loaded) when another button is clicked.
It is my understanding, I can do this by adding AS to the SWF file at the point I want to play it out (labeled "init_out") and variables to my base file.
Summary: btn_GD btn_IL btn_CN
btn_CN plays a transitional animation ("init_in") which changes the base of the scene.
Once btn_GD or btn_IL has been clicked btn_CN needs to play ("init_out") in an external swf to return the scene so they can play their movies, which are also external.
My second problem is (on a different button), I have a loaded Movie Clip which unloads itself, but once it is unloaded I would like it to show another (internal) and/or a static page.
This is a transitional animation which plays and it does not go to another scene, but shows a different "flat" of the file which contains buttons returning one back to the main scene.
Though it's exeternal I'm not opposed to having that movieclip remain up as long as I'd be able to have it click and return back to the main menu section.
Summary: btn_CT needs to both load an external SWF, unload said SWF, and arrive at mc_CT.
I have just completed the "Transitions Between External SWFs" tutorial and I'm now I'm at the stage of altering a few things in there to suit my needs. But I've run into a problem... For my buttons, instead of "Button" symbols, I want to use "Movie Clip" symbols - reason being is that I've got some specially animated Movie Clip buttons that I wish to use.
To get this... err "working"... with my Movie Clip buttons I have needed to use "_root." when referencing to the container Movie Clip. Now that works to an extent, but for some reason each button plays only "red.swf" even when there is no mention of it in the ActionScript and is instructed to play "blue" for example ("red.swf" happens to be the first appearing movie). Normal method with Button - works fine!

I have made a complex button with the help of warhero's tutorial. The onRelease event of this script opens a URL when clicked. What I need is to have the onRelease event of this script load an external movie into a container mc based on Voetsjoeba's Transitions tute.I thought I'd try combining the if/else statement from Voetsjoeba into the complex button script, but this does not work. Can someone tell me how to combine these scripts?
I can handle animation but am somehow ignorant about ActionScript as my knowledge of Flash goes back to the Tell target actions...I've been playing around with 2 tutorials I've found on Kirupa (see links below) in order to build a text based navigation:
My first level is made of MC buttons. All working great when adding the script indicated in the first tutorial. From there, I would like to be able to load external SWFs when clicking on one of those first level buttons and in order to do so I added the script from the second tutorial (Transitions Between External SWFs)
Doing so, I was told I could only add that script on button symbols which is unfortunately i not an option at this point. how can I launch external SWFs that would allow transitions from those MC symbols?
I've just created a sliding transition, see code below, which masks an image however when I run the swf it doesn't work and just displays the whole image without a mask.
I want to make an animation which interacts to the overstates of different buttons, but I want the animation to tween between the different states without reseting to a defaut when the mouse cursors off of the button. Another way of saying it is that I want the animation's instances to smoothly transition from one button to the next, no matter what order the buttons are cursored over.
does anybody know a easy way to make image transitions in Flash CS4? without using the timeline and without to much programming. Why invet the wheel again if somebody already has the answer? This is what i want to do:Put images/photos in a folder or import to the Flash libary and then let flash view the pictures with a pre-setted transition. The transitions could be: fade in/ fade out, blur in/blur out, pixel in/pixel out, zoom in/zoom out and so on (with a nice look) I want to select the pictures to be used and then select a transition for each image.
For an example if i wanna do a image header lets say 900x400px and then vÃew my images in the folder with the selected transitÃon. I tried to use the slide presentation feature but the transition looked like PowerPoint, boring and not so smooth. Somebody has a simple and free solution? I know this is not to hard for a experienced Flash user, but im a beginner =).
I have an XML image gallery that works great, but I'm not satisfied with how the images transition. I'd like the old image to fade out while the new one is fading in whenever the viewer hits the previous or next button, so that way there's no blank background space between the transitions while the new image is being loaded. I'm trying to create a simple yet effective image slideshow for my homepage. It'll be a bar, 600 pixels wide, by 300 pixels high. There will be 4 buttons that will line the bottom, numbered 1 through 4, that will control 4 separate slides that'll appear in that window. If you don't click anything, the images will fade in and out after x amount of seconds. Clicking on the numbered buttons will load the appropriate slide, and each slide when clicked will take you to a certain part of the website.
I wish to do this in actionscript... not using the timeline as I prefer to do all transitions in actionscript. Can anyone shed light on how to set this up? I've been trying to use the TransitionManager function... however I'm getting mixed results. Here's a screenshot:

I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function
I have to move a text box in and out over the MC backgrounds on the main stage... which is why I was thinking to do it this way? I've been switching back and forth bwtween AS2.0 and 3.0
I am having trouble with a job I am doing at the moment which has an mc with buttons within it. I want it so that when I roll over the mc it tweens from a small version to a larger version, and on this mc there are some buttons. At the moment I can get the mc to move but the buttons remain inactive and also the rollover states on the buttons don't work. I'm having problems with the flash buttons on the flash website i made for a client. or some reason the buttons in the top and bottom menu work on some people's computers but on some they don't. I don't know what to do, i had this code for all the buttons,

I am using Flash CS4 with actionscript 2 to create an interacitve portfolio.I have 2 text buttons that work when I test them with "enable simple buttons." When I publish to IE these buttons won't work. I have created over 50 buttons using the same methods, they all work.

I'm using Agile Uploader in my project to resize image before upload on client side.And it works fine except one thing: if image name contains cyrillic letters it fails with server error 500.
How to avoid this or if needed how to rename file with english letters "on fly" (possibly with javascript).
I'm trying to create a movie clip with images that will slide from one image to another using next and previous buttons. I want a sliding effect. For example on this site: [URL] The right side large image you can slide the image by using the arrows. That's exactly what I want...but in flash.
I'm trying to create an informative flash program on Mt. St. Helens about the dust cloud it created when it errupted. I have everything ready to go including the buttons and the pages the screen or next image it should take you to. I'm just stuck on how I get the buttons to actually take you to the next frame.
if i'm on the home page of this flash site, a button on the nav menu loads the correct scene the first time it's clicked, but if you nav to another scene and click the first one agin to return to it, nothing happens. why would a button behave one way on a scene and another way on another scene?
I've used flash like twice in my life, but I think I know how to make a button. I'm working on my artists portfolio online and I'm making it in flash. Basically it has buttons which link to photos and videos. There are 5 videos and 5 photographs. Now the problem is when you click on a button and watch a video buttons 1-3 of photos don't work. But the 4 and 5 buttons for photos work. It seems to only happen after you watch a video. The same actionscript is on all of them GotoandStop is the command I'm using for the photos and GotoandPlay for the videos.
I had all of my code working, then I moved all of my main movie timeline into a movie clip (body_mc)Main movie now has 1 frame.My body_mc has a navigation menu, one button is portfolio_bttn which takes you to that frame label. It persists through all frames of body_mc. This button works fine.I seem to have everything working except 4 buttons on the first frame of body_mc. They should all perform exactly the same function as portfolio_bttn. They exist only in frame 1.They work the first time you click one (any one).Navigate back to frame one of body_mc and all 4 buttons will no longer work.
