I'm having a problem with Flash and InDesign (both CS4), installed as a bundle in one go from Adobe Master Collection discs, When trying to launch InDesign or Flash, I get a message that they are 'not supported on this architecture'.
I'm on a MacPro with 2x3GHz Quad Core and 4GB running 10.5.7.
All the other CS4 Master Collection apps have installed and run fine.
My volume is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
I'm making a game so far with 2 characters (in 2 classes); Adeiza and Dooray. Combat and movement are all fine, but now I need to make a ranged special. I've created a MovieClip and a class file for AdzFire, which is basically a fireball created by Adeiza in a certain frame. This fireball is created and moves in the direction I ask it to, which is fine. My problem lies with it hitting the opposing character (currently Dooray). Here are the codes I think are affected;1. The code in AdzFire.as, called with an enterframe event.

I have a a structure like this: e.item.fatturato_ac_s1 e.item.fatturato_ac_s2 e.item.fatturato_ac_s3 e.item.fatturato_ac_s4 [...] and so on...
In order to compute dynamically the string I wrote: e.item.(myStr.toString()) where myStr (type string) = "fatturato_ac_s" + Index (so I can have fatturato_ac_s1, fatturato_ac_s2, ...) I can correctly retrieve the value of e.item.(myStr.toString()) (a numeric value), but if I try to put it in a variable I get the error in the title: myVariable = e.item.(myStr.toString()) myVariable is a Number.
I also tried: myVariable = Number(e.item.(myStr.toString())) But doesn't work... the same if I try String to String....
Trying to set up my own site. Have seen this one and would quite like to copy the layout and functions of the buttons etc.So I have started out by creating one button which enters the stage and the remains in the UpState until roll over or clicked.I have tried to add this function:

the fighting game class creates an instance of fighter, then adds a child of "dude" to fighter. I want to animate dude, so I tried doing this:

Also the movieclip does not show up, and does not animate. What is this, I can find little information about it, and how do i fix it? the area where it throws the error is the gotoandplay line.
I just installed adobe cs4 design premium, and everything works fine except for the program I wanted most, which is Flash. It has a little circle with a line through the icon and whenever I try to run it, it tells me that it cant run because it is not supported on this architecture.

SO NUMERICAL PARAMETERS DON'T WORK! I not a new to Flash. Have worked more than 5 years with this. Also we've tested such behaviour with latest (downloaded today and yesterday) packages from OFFICIAL url...we've tested this behavoiur on different machines, with different operating systems.
I have a data-grid which has data form a data base being printed into it. I have a function so that when I click any row of data in the grid the data is then printed into a form so I can edit and update it. I used to use flash years ago, and have only recently come back to it in my course in university so im very rusty.
What i am looking to do is in flash create two sliders where the user can slide along to their shoe size, and their weight, so that as they do that, the numbers in two other boxes will periodically change to help indicate what size snowboard they need to get.
eg. as user makes shoe size slider go along to larger sizes, at certain points the number in a box labelled board width will increase.
also as an added touch I would like a character to actually increase in size as the slider is used, I'd imagine for this I would need to have a movieclip of the character getting bigger and allow the slider to progress through the frames of this movieclip.

I am loading an array of movie clips and adding them to the stage with flash as3, but the problem is that the movie clips are added to the stage as soon as they finish loading, and not in order of there position in the array, so the order on screen appears messed up. How do I ensure that they are added to the stage in the same order that their references exist in the URL?

I have a main datagrid, and want to launch a window with another datagrid in it, bringing in a different dataprovider. However, when I do this it acts funnny, brings in some default datagrid information and then gives me an error when I try to set the dataprovider:"multiple initializers for property dataprovider. (note: 'dataprovider' is the default property of mx.controls.datagrid)"
I can successfully add a validator on an item in my datagrid, by passing in the particular element in the dataProvider to the validator, but I can't get the red border to show up around the cell if the validation fails. I have stepped through the validator, and confirmed that it is passing back a failure, but I can't figure out why the red error border doesn't show up. I have a feeling its because I am passing the item in my dataProvider as the validator source, rather than the 'cell' item, but I can't find a way to access the cell.
I am populating 3 columns of my datagrid using a simple XML file. The last column is supposed to be an itemrenderer, basically a Button. However the button should appear only on certain rows of the 3rd column of the datagrid depending on the value from the XML file, which is either "true" or "false". So basically I want to set the Visible property of the button in the itemrenderer to true or false.
It's been 2 days and counting since I started to debug my code to make it work and It's eating up all my time and I don't think I'll hit my deadline If I don't start asking.
The gallery is working well, It can load the thumbnails smoothly without returning any error. However, the thumbnails doesn't load as expected, I think because the smallest file size gets to load first. So if thumbnail[3] is the smallest, it'll attach itself to thumbnail_container[0] which it should always be thumbnail[0] to thumbnail_container[0] and so on.

I am using a custom itemEditor for my DataGrid.The itemEditor has a simple TextField as a component.But when ever i am clicking the cell i am getting an error as [code]My Opinion is that the error is coming for the "text" field. But i havn't accessed "text" field or used it anywhere in my code.
I have a data grid where users can drag columns and reposition them. But there is a strange requirement that some columns should not be draged to the left of some other column. eg, assume the columns are: name, price , start date, end date, The end date should not be dragged and placed before the start date. i.e. The user can have start date, price , name , end date. name, start date, price , end date. But at no point can end date appear before start date. Is there a way to do this flex? Is there a way to know where the user is trying to drop the column and show error message ?
