I just installed adobe cs4 design premium, and everything works fine except for the program I wanted most, which is Flash. It has a little circle with a line through the icon and whenever I try to run it, it tells me that it cant run because it is not supported on this architecture.
View 5 RepliesI'm having a problem with Flash and InDesign (both CS4), installed as a bundle in one go from Adobe Master Collection discs, When trying to launch InDesign or Flash, I get a message that they are 'not supported on this architecture'.
I'm on a MacPro with 2x3GHz Quad Core and 4GB running 10.5.7.
All the other CS4 Master Collection apps have installed and run fine.
My volume is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

I'm making a game so far with 2 characters (in 2 classes); Adeiza and Dooray. Combat and movement are all fine, but now I need to make a ranged special. I've created a MovieClip and a class file for AdzFire, which is basically a fireball created by Adeiza in a certain frame. This fireball is created and moves in the direction I ask it to, which is fine. My problem lies with it hitting the opposing character (currently Dooray). Here are the codes I think are affected;1. The code in AdzFire.as, called with an enterframe event.

In order to compute dynamically the string I wrote:

I can correctly retrieve the value of e.item.(myStr.toString()) (a numeric value), but if I try to put it in a variable I get the error in the title:
myVariable = e.item.(myStr.toString())
myVariable is a Number.
I also tried:
myVariable = Number(e.item.(myStr.toString()))
But doesn't work... the same if I try String to String....

the fighting game class creates an instance of fighter, then adds a child of "dude" to fighter. I want to animate dude, so I tried doing this:

im a digital artist (beginner) and i want to make some flash animations..i downloaded the flash cs3 (after seeing some comments that cs5 it not a big deall) from adobe but when i tried to install it i got an error so i download it from another site but i got the same error after extracting the files and tried to install English:: setup has detected an error and can not continue. For assistance contact customer support Adobe im not soure but i thing that at the one i downloaded from adobe site i got something like '' can not extract files'' then got the error from above so maybe some files are missing here are the files i got after they got extracted

An Actionscript error has occurred.I searched it on google and adobe.
When I open internet explorer I get a window that says adobe flash player installer/uninstaller 10.1 r82 has stopped working. It will not load the homepage or if it does it open it I am unable to navigate away from it. I have tried to deactivate flash but that didn't help either. I have downloaded and installed all windows updates. I have run a virus scan.
View 1 RepliesI published an app to Air 2.5 (.air) from Adobe Flash CS 5 and afterwards also to Air Android (.apk) Since then I receive this error message if I try to publish as .air again:
Error creating files. Icon file is missing.
I tried to delete and recreate the folder and pathes but the error still appears.
Why do these numbers produce different results. Leading zero-trails shouldn't affect the result!!! GRRR!! :P

I am creating an app in flash for Android. What would be the correct architecture for this? Would I wrap the flash in Java, and the java would control the adverts and menu?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to get familiar with design patterns, modularity, unit testing and etc... (with ActionScript). I'm developing a simple "Free transform tool" right now, just as a exercise, but I don't like the solutions that I come up with so far, so I'll try to walk you trough my line of thoughts. When I come up with the idea I was thinking "What to write so I can test this great Unit testing framework FlexUnit", the first thing that I saw was guess what.. a free transform tool. :) When I was thinking about the architecture of the tool I run every scenario trough "How can I write unit tests for that thing?", so I come up with some kind of twisted MVC meta pattern:
A view that's holding all components (rotation area, drag area, resize buttons)A model (or something like that) that holds the necessary logic (setSize, setPositiom, rotateAroundCenter, etc..).And a controller that add listeners to the view components, update the mouse cursor when its over a component, get the mouse coordinates when is interacted with a component, do the calculations and call methods from the model that will update the view and the object that is benign transformed.
I was thinking: "Ok its flexible, i can switch M, V or C at any time, I achieved my main goal, because I can make lots of unit test for the model, where the important calculations are, so its great..".I just have started implementing it, but I think most of those thoughts are wrong. Yes I can change the view and add new skin but it's not flexible at all, if I want to add "skew" (or any other) functionality I should rewrite (or If I'm lucky just extend) M, V and C.Yes I can make bunch unit test for the model but controller's calculations will be hard to test.
So now I'm thinking for something like the Decorator pattern that will allow me to create whatever combination of controls i want to use and keep their logic separated, but I want to have the option to re-skin the controls themselves and to keep the logic separated so I can do the tests.I realize I want to create some kind of "ultimate transform tool", but I'm really trying to push my limits and learn something.

I have been asked to design an LCD wall application for a display like the one in this ad. Requirements are that the wall can display full screen video or partition the wall in different sections to display multiple video or images and video. I would like to understand what platform can be used to drive such beasts (what OS? what video card?). I wonder what software platform can drive multimedia on such a scale. Html5 + JavaScript would be OK on a single monitor, but on that scale would it slow down? Flash also is an interesting platform, as it is Air, but, once again, can it scale like that?
I am also considering the server architecture that is needed to drive a set of walls in the same location and the slideshow designer to create storyboards, but this is dependent on what client architecture will be embraced.
Just a minute ago my .fla file can be played. But after several minute when I added movie clips and animations. It just crashed down I guess, Adobe Flash CS3 stop working. I'm using Microsoft Vista operating system. I have an antivirus subscription which is McAfee with automatic update. I think it's a virus or what? I dunno what to do. I got a problem with adobe flash cs4 : I can't launch it normaly and its says that a fatal error has occured.. I really don't know what I must do.. Please, help me.... I've just lost like 3 or 4 files of adobe by trying to reinstall it.
View 3 RepliesI've been trying to use ffmpeg with an air app that I made in flash cs5.5. I have it so that ffmpeg.exe needs to be located in the directory where the air app is installed (File.applicationDirectory.nativePath). For some reason this only works when I run the program through the flash dev environment. But when I actually deploy the app, I get error #3219:The NativeProcess could not be started. ffmpeg.exe is located in the same folder.
I actually don't know the full message that it gives...not sure what the property of the error that will give me that message when I catch it. All I know is that it's error 3219. Would this be a profile issue? If i didn't have the extended desktop desktop profile, I don't think I would be able to get this error, I'd get a profiling error wouldn't I? I've disabled user access control as well...I'm using windows 7.

I can do this for each individual sound.Mp3.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, test_function);
But each sound is loaded by an instance of my sound loader class, how can I pass the ProgressEvent up to the parent object, and then have it calculate the total time to load?
I'm trying to build a screenshot package in C# which creates a screenshot from an URL. But apparently flash isn't supported in the webbrowser class. Is there any solution to this or is there any open source solution on how to render flash in a screenshot from url solution?
