ActionScript 3.0 :: If I Rotate An Image 10 Deg Then That Moves An Image 10 Deg Clockwise From 0?

Apr 19, 2011

I have rotated an image around 0,0 using the code below. I need the new coordinates of the corners of the rotated image.

bitmap.rotation=_angle;

UPDATE: if i rotate an image 10 deg then that moves an image 10 deg clockwise from 0,0

the bottom left corner was 0,20 and so i need to change the point (0,20) 10 deg clockwise using trig?

Actionscript 3 :: Move Image As The Mouse Moves

May 2, 2011

This probably will be very easy for some, but I am stuck on this. I have a map in a movieclip(mc_map) on stage and a small square which acts as a mask to the really bigger size of the same map. What I am want to do is that when I move the mouse on the mc_map(eg: say my cursor is on New York), the small sqaure window will unhide the same area, or will move that bigger image such that the same area is shown under the square mask. I also want to add another cursor(or crosshair) to the stage which is live only in the area of the square and replicates the position of mouse on map.

ActionScript 2.0 :: CS3 When User Drags The Handle The Masked Image Moves As Well

Jan 21, 2010

I am building a sliding image movie. It takes two photos and compares them by using "startDrag" to slide a "setMask" MC horizontally to reveal one photo under another. The idea here is to compare two photos taken 50 years apart.

[Code]....

As you can see I have two MCs here one is a mask and the other is a handle of sort. They work fine separately but I would like to have the two function in unison or as one MC. The handle MC is just that a handle that appears on the left edge of the masked image. So when user drags the handle the masked image moves as well. (or vice versa)

ActionScript 3.0 :: Determine Clockwise Or Counter-clockwise Rotation?

Nov 9, 2010

I'm writing a class for an instrment and one of the knobs has "snapping" values at X degrees.I have the code to make the knob snap to the set degrees,but I'm having trouble getting it to determine whether it was rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise.Here is the function that makes it rotate and "snap" The majority of the problem is because of the 0/360 and negative values that Flash has when it rotates..

In the function:

the _baseMovieClip is the clip that contains a graphic to rotate and "snap" to the degrees.

the _clipToRotate is a movie clip that actually displays the rotation

the _startAngle is the angle the user clicked on the button that triggers rotation

the _rotateObj is a sprite that is drawn when they click that I make visible to show the actual rotation when I'm debugging

the _snapLock is the degrees the knob shold rotate to (10, 15, 30, etc)

private function calculateRotation(event:Event):void [code]....

ActionScript 3.0 :: MouseOver - It Moves Upward Slightly And A Small Amount Of Whitespace Appears At The Top Of The Image?

Oct 12, 2011

I'm trying to code a click-and-point adventure game for a class, in which interactive objects glow when you mouse over them.... In the frame I have the background image (in which there is, say, a drawer), and an image of the drawer glowing placed exactly over top of that. The glow image is invisible until you mouse over it, at which point it is supposed to become visible (and disappear upon mouseout). I have the mouseover function linked to the entire glow image (which is a movieclip), but it only seems to work when you mouseover a specific portion of the image (usually a corner). The code looks something like this:

ActionScript Code:
DeskDrawer.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, drawerLightUp);
function drawerLightUp(e:MouseEvent){
DeskDrawer.alpha = 100;
}

when the glow-image is moused over, it moves upward slightly and a small amount of whitespace appears at the top of the image.

Make An Image Rotate Behind On Mouseover?

Jul 2, 2010

I'm a Web designer from London and although I have good Photoshop skills, I can't put together my designs for animation

Description:

I would like to know how I can make an image invisible until I hover the mouse over it. Once the image becomes visible how can I make an image behind it (on a different layer) rotate until I move the mouse away.

1. How do I make image invisible until I hover mouse over it?

2. Once image is displayed how do I make an image rotate 90 degrees behind it?

3. Once I move the mouse off, how do I make the button become invisible again, and the rotated image to be restored to it's original rotation.

I am using Flash / Photoshop (CS5)

ActionScript 3.0 :: Rotate An Image In 3D Space?

Jun 28, 2010

I have an image that I want to rotate in 3D space when you move the mouse. This seems easy enough, and I have it mostly working. The problem is, it seems like Flash's 3D camera isn't oriented towards the image. The image is inside a MovieClip so that the center of the image is at 0,0 in the MovieClip, and the MovieClip is located at stageWidth/2,stageHeight/2 -- so it's in the centre of the stage. But if you move the image backwards in z-space, the image doesn't look like it's scaling down, which is what you'd expect -- since it's moving away from the camera -- but instead, it moves up and to the left as it moves backwards.

This is my code:

package {
import flash.display.*;
import flash.events.*;

[Code]....

Does anyone know why the camera isn't oriented towards stageWidth/2,stageHeight/2? How do I make the image move directly away from the camera in z-space? Or am I just stupid for not giving up and trying to learn PaperVision?

Does anyone have any examples of how do this or am a going about this the wrong way? What i am trying to do is build a slide show that rotates around and you tap on the images to enlarge.
