I am having one form in my flash application and i want to add the value for drop down from my php file

I'm having with a menu navigation system. I'm using Flash MX. I have created a menu system for the site I'm building ([URL]) where one of the buttons "Choose photographer" drops down a list of names. All the other buttons just jump to another page. The drop down is currently using tweens also the logo moves to the left as the dropdown appears and returns when the dropdown returns. All working fine apart from its a bit jerky.
It's I just wanted to get away from tweening and use action scripts instead, as I'm a newbie to all things Flash I trawled the net for tutorials and examples so that I could cobble together the exact same effect. I have managed to get the drop down work and return using the action script and it does seem smoother and works slightly better. But can I get the logo to move to the left and back in time with the drop down...no.
I'm creating a webpage, and I have made some buttons.Image 1 is the homepage, which is frame 1 in Flash.Image 2 shows that when I rollover the button "Portfolio,"I get a dropdown menu.I have this set as frame 3 in Flash.Image 3 shows that I've gone down the dropdown menu and rolled over "Photography." But if I rollout of any of the things from the dropdown menu, it stays at Image 2 (Frame 3)with the dropdown menu visible. Which is a problem...I want to be able to rollout of these buttons to revert back to the homepage, Image 1 (Frame 1).But, for instance, telling "Graphic Design" to go to Frame 1 on rollout means that if I try to go below "Graphic Design" to "Photography," I've rolled out--and so the rest of the menu disappears.So I want to roll be able to select anything from the dropdown menu, and only rollout to Frame 1 if I go outside the entire dropdown menu, not just one button.

I would know if with AS2 it's possible to load programmatically a bulk of images and save them in an array; then how to attach programmatically each image to an empty movieclip.
I know how to do this in AS3 however it seems impossible in AS2.
My problem is, that i have a flash banner, with a menu above it. The menu has a dropdown though, and in internet explorer 7 the dropdown shows behind the flash banner. I've tried everything (what I know of, and what I have found here on stackoverflow), but nothing seems to do the trick.

I've tried to change the wmode to transparent and opaque, but it didn't work. Just to make sure, I did this by adding a <param value="transparent" name="wmode"> in the object tag, and then add the attribute wmode="transparent".
I have a css drop down menu on the header portion of my website and the flash movie plays on the center of the site. The problem is, when the drop down menu is clicked it goes under the flash movie so that people can't see what is on the menu. Not sure if this is something that can be adjusted on the parameters of the movie or not?

I was looking for some information before proceeding with the work, I was looking to create a navigation bar in Flash with drop down menus coming form some of the links. Now will this require the visitor to have JavaScript enabled, I'm just a little cautious as I want the links in the drop down to be available to everyone, and if they do need Javascript enabled how do i get round this.....
View 3 RepliesI'm maintaining a ActionScript 2 application which uses createEmptyMovieClip to create dropdown lists (the list items being attached as movieclips). I can close the dropdown directly via removeMovieClip and such, obviously.
My problem is this: the dropdown should not only be closed when an item is clicked or the button creating it is triggered again, but also anytime the user clicks anywhere outside the dropdown (like onReleaseOutside, except the click also STARTS outside).
So far the only solution I can see is turning _root (or an invisible layer) into a button by proving an onRelease for it, but that's hackish in that it makes _root be treated like a button by Flash (pointer mouse cursor and all that). Do not want!

Once the list is clicked I want to pass the state code onto the end of the url for the ad.I used to be ok with actionscript but it was several years ago, and I'm wondering if its possible to have the ad grab the URL from the parent <a href> and just tack the state code onto it.I assume this is how clickTags work?[code]Can anyone offer any tips on how best to do this? I have thought of three ways to do this and I am wondering which is the best, memory-wise and speed-wise, for loading this information.
make a class with an array ( new Array("hydrogen", "helium", "lithium",...etc.)), instantiating it, then accessing the info with object.arr[i] make a class with a static array (otherwise, same as no.1), importing it, then accessing the info with class.arr[i] put the information into an external xml file and accessing it from there. The 3rd method seems excessive as you have to go through the hassle of adding event listeners for URLloader every time. Is there any difference between the 1st and 2nd way? (What is happening in terms of memory when you are importing a class - is the entire array added to memory?)
I have an HTML website with a flash header and dropdown menu.In the beginning, the flash dropdown menu would not show at all untili found the wmode=transparent trick.The menus are now showing properly except for one specific page wherethe text on the page show up OVER the dropdown menu. In all otherpages, the dropdown menu shows up on top of any text that may be inthere.There's nothing on that particular page jumping at me that would causethe problem. In fact, the page uses the same CSS file as the otherpages. I'm really clueless.I'm not sure if it's a flash problem or HTML/CSS problem.
The only difference i could think of was that the page was called froma combobox change event. But i switched the page called to anotherpage i know works with the menu and it was fine. So the problem doesnot come from the combobox calling the page, it really is the pageitself.Does anyone have a clue?Working page sample (sorry its in french)click on Nos Services. I was wondering if there is a way for me to build a dropdown menu in flash, and somehow integrate it with a nonflash website. For further explanation on what I am trying to accomplish...I was going to code a fully custom dropdown menu / button in flash, however for this to work the website would need to have a giant blank space where the flash meny would roll-down at. I am wondering if there is a way to get around this.

Currently the menu has 5 main buttons and when you mouse over each button they have horizontal submenus below.I would like the first button "HOME" to display it's submenu options when you enter the site - basically to be visible without having to mouse-over. I'm using jQuery Autocomplete just as in this example: [URL] The problem is, the area where you see the Result box in that example - that's where my flash object is. So, when the autocomplete dropdown appears, most of the text is concealed by the flash object (which I can't move). How can I make the autocomplete text appear over the flash object (concealing its view rather than vice versa)?

I want a movieclip consisting of a dynamic text box that, from the time it's loaded onto the stage, loads a randomly selected text string from an array, and continues to loop until the clip is removed from the stage. I also want the text strings to appear in the text box for random intervals between 500 and 3000 milliseconds.
While I've found tutorials here and elsewhere on loading one element from an array, usually triggered by a button, I don't know how to combine/alter it with the other elements.So I want this movieclip on the stage randomly flashing phrases from an array, some for a barely perceptible time, and others for a readable time.
I am aware of how to reset the right-click context menu to just "settings", but when the file is opened in Flash Player directly from a computer instead of on the web, the drop-down menu in the player is still available. You can even press ctrl+enter to play. My searches just come up with solutions to the right-click menu, and I have a client who wants me to get rid of this menu for a game I've already made.

I am trying to load MC's from an array but I need to make it so that after ever 2 MC's the Yposition changes down say 300px so that I have a new line. I have tried using if(see at the bottom of this script.) bellow but it doen't work.
