View 1 RepliesTrying to load swfs with loadmovie script. They load fine but when close window button is pressed the Main movie behind it dissappears to blank screen.
View 2 RepliesI've been trying to use loadMovie to load external SWFs into 200x200 MCs arranged on the stage. What I get is a strange placement of the loaded movies, and, the loaded movies don't appear as they should. The loaded movies are really all the same: they display 4 squares that change randomly every 3 seconds.
1) The loaded movies seem to use their center point as the registration point instead of the top left corner. Why? How can this be changed?
2) The loaded SWFs ("1.swf", "2.swf", "3.swf") get transformed from 200x200 pixels to 100x100 pixels. Why?
I'm trying to use a loadMovie function inside a loop to load external PNG files when my game is loaded. Unfortunately, I can't get even a single loadMovie to work correctly, much less execute a bunch of them.The code is on the root time line, and is targetting an empty movie clip that is nested inside about 3 levels. There is a button, with a movie clip on it, and the empty clip I'm trying to load into on that.so the full target path is myBox_00.smallBox.myLogo(myBox_00 is the button, smallBox is the movie clip, and myLogo is the empty)[code].I even tried using a JPG image instead of a PNG and still no luck. The best I could do was number 4; and that didn't work, all it did was SOMETHING instead of NOTHING... unfortunately that something was to make the button (myBox_00) disappear entirely T_T.I've never had much luck with loading external images. What am I missing here?
View 9 RepliesIn CS4, using AS 2.0, I'm using loadMovie to pull in different ads (swfs).This is working great, but one swf is not getting along. It was coded in AS 3.0, and some content beneath masks is not displaying correctly.I obtained the original fla file, but still can't come up with a solution.I tried setting it to 2.0, but then none of the AS works.I don't know Actionscript very well so rewriting the ad's functions is not an option.convert the swf I'm trying to load in? Or an alternative to loadMovie in 2.0?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to load some swf movies using loadMovie, but I'm having the following problem: There are three movies: 1.swf, 2.swf, and, 3.swf.
=> 1.swf loads inside 2.swf
=> 2.swf loads inside 3.swf
When I test 3.swf, it plays only 1.swf (exactingly where I put it in 2.swf - coordinates) but doesn't play 2.swf. Everything looks correct, including the containers. All actionscript is in the frames and I'm using Flash MX.
I'm building a banner with 5 separate themes for a website. Instead of using scenes and bulding a single .swf, I figured I would build 5 separate .swfs, then when one finished playing it would be unloaded and go to the next .swf. Then finish at, say, 5.swf. There is no user interaction (onPress, etc.).I can't seem to find an A/S method for doing this. Most of what I see is using the loadMovie with an interaction.
View 14 RepliesI am loading eight external swfs by way of eight buttons with actionscript to remove the swfs and sound after a new button is clicked. This works fine except that as soon as you get to the frame where the actionscript is all the swfs load at one time on top of each other. I don't want any to load until the button is clicked for the right one. MouseEvent listener works but only after all the swfs have loaded. How do I get the swfs to load only when the buttons are clicked. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

I'm having a problem with embedding a Flash movie that loads an array of SWFs- specifically, ones that exist in the same movie as the .fla loader file. When I move the external SWFs and .swf load_movie file into a separate directory from the HTML file, they do not load properly. I get just a white window. [URL]. When I keep the SWF movie clips and load_movie.swf in the same (root) folder as the .html file, then everything loads properly, though. But this would extremely clutter up my directory!
The code is as follows:
MovieClip on Stage
onClipEvent(data){
//test to make sure it's completely loaded, when swf's load this way onData is called with each 'chunk' of data
if(bytesLoaded()==bytesTotal()){
this.onEnterFrame=function(){
if(_currentframe==_totalframes){
_root.loadNextMovie()
[Code] .....
I 'm not sure if there is a way in loadMovie to specify another folder, or the best way to solve this problem. I'm relatively new to Actionscript.
I am trying to prevent users from viewing my site and then simply going into their "temporary internet files" and stealing my swfs and XML files. I have been using a great .PHP code to stop this but now I am working on a server server that only uses .aspx files. Does anybody know of a way that I can stop files from being stored in the "temporary internet files" folder. I have encrypted the files but this is not good enough.

I want to load an external .swf file through the loadMovie function. The problem is flash takes sometime to load the file and therefore what ever commands I put below the loadMovie function, will not work. Placing this commands say 10 frames from the loadMovie function works but when online and you have a slow internet connection, it yet again fails. How do I solve this problem? I tried using onLoad but from what I gathered from several sites, it will not work with LoadMovie.
View 6 RepliesI have a page that loads loads of swfs*. I'm loading in them all at the same time, Sequentially which is slowing down the intro animation. Is there a way to load swfs sequentially? Or if not load them on a timer (half a sec would do the trick I think)
*there lots of different dynamically generated Flex graphs so it's not possible to have them all in one.

I'm loading (and unloading) external swfs into a holder in my main document. However, they seem to load perfectly the first time, but after that, they load at a different x and y. I've seen this happen before in someone else's file, but I'm not sure what the solution is.
This is the bare bones of it:
Code:
sceneHolder.x=0;
sceneHolder.y=0;
addChild(sceneHolder);
[Code].....
Okay so I am trying to load external swfs which load videos dynamically.
I can load the swfs into the parent fla fine (if I remove all the code and just place a circle or something on the stage of the swf), and the swfs are also loading their respective videos correctly. But when I try to load the external swfs, if they contain any casting related code in them, I'm getting an error
[AS]TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at swf1_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()[/AS]
Is there some specific method to casting within external swfs?
My code for loading the videos is this:
[AS]var vc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
vc.connect(null);
var vs:NetStream = new NetStream(vc);
[Code].....
i created a very simple flash animation and loading external jpg files using loadMovie(). I had test it in IE7 and its works fine but not in Firefox2, it cannot display the jpgs. What is the problem?
View 1 RepliesI needed to break it in smaller pieces because it is a large file (over 300 mb) and every time I wanted to publish the entire project flash crashed.
Here is my test: I have two exe files that should link back and forth. Intro_YIM.exe, which has a button that links to Videos_FrontPage_YIM.exe Here is my code, which is in Intro (button name= nav_4).
[code]...
Problem: The link seems to work, but there is a message that says save or run. When I click run, there is another message that says the file can't be open.
Questions:
1. Is there a better way to handle links using executable files using Flash CS5 and AS3?
2. If swfs were used, how can I have a main page displaying all other swfs as they are linked?
I have a main movie with a dynamically created menu (uses data gathered from an XML file). Each menu item has an Action and Variables associated with this action.
Code:
<?xml version="1.0"?>

Now as you can see from my XML file above one of my menu options is a photo gallery. What I would like to to is have one swf, i.e. photoGallery.swf, and load this into an empty movie clip called content_mc and pass it different XML files (same format, but different content). Right now I am using an apply task inside of an antrun execution.

<artifactId>maven-antrun-plugin</artifactId>

How do I do this in pure maven? Without the antrun plugin?
In the Flash app I'm building, I have a "main" SWF that will load a variety of "child" SWFs.
All of the AS3 code for both the main SWF and child SWFs is contained in external .as class files.
In other words, each movie has it's own document class .as file.
There are also a number of .as class files for all of the common elements (e..g, UI buttons and controls).
So - for example - both my main SWF and all child SWFs use the "MyCommandButton" class; the code for this class is in MyCommandButton.as, which all SWFs reference (import).
Here's what I don't understand.
(Let's say that the code in MyCommandButton.as draws buttons that are red.)
First, I compile ALL of the child SWFs.
Next, I change MyCommandButton.as, so that the buttons it draws are blue, instead of red.
Then, I compile the main SWF.
When I run the app (main.swf), I would expect all of the buttons in the main SWF to be blue (since that's what MyCommandButton.as specified when main.swf was compiled), and all of the buttons in the child SWFs will be red (since that's what MyCommandButton.as specified when they were compiled.)
Instead, ALL of the buttons are blue, which means the change I made to MyCommandButton.as affected all of the child SWFs, even though I didn't recompile them.
I have this situation (simplified):
MC-A.swf opened from local computer (C:/) and loads MC-B.swf which is hosted on a server.
When MC-B.swf is loaded, it tries to access file called "loader.swf" which is also on local computer (C:/).
When it tries to access the "loader.swf" I get the following error message:
*** Security Sandbox Violation ***
Connection to file:///C|/loading.swf halted - not permitted from [URL]
-- Remote SWFs may not access local files.
I read discussions concerning this issue, and as I understood, I could use:
System.security.allowDomain("[URL]");
to solve this problem, but it didn't work.
I wouldn't like to change the loaded file to load it's resources also from the web, since it can find them on the local machine.
The problem is class files being cached in external swfs when they are loaded into another swf. (as2-cs3). In a nutshell, we've got a clip on the stage that is linked to a class. You can make changes to the class, pub the swf and everything works fine. When we then load that swf into our application swf, the changes are all lost, and it "reverts back" to a previous version of the class.

View 1 RepliesThis is my first time ever constructing a web site ONLY using Flash 8. I normally just use elements here and there, and I am totally confused. The link to the project is here: [URL] I want the site to be set up so that when I click a button (at the bottom), an external .swf file loads into that gray box in the center. How do I start? Where do I start? I should be able to figure this out, but I am stuck.

View 3 RepliesI''m currently working on a school project, but I'm having issues with getting the flash loaded with loadMovie. I've read on several forums how to use the command, If I use the command, it loads the flash file. But all variables are undefined and the movieclip in which I loaded the swf file also remains empty.
I've tested the situation with a random jpg and this works.
I'm getting kinda desperate, since I've first tried to use scenes without succes..
When I try to use loadMovie, it will not load to an instance (unless it's something that's in the same directory). I figured this was some sort of security thing, but I was able to load the movie into _root just fine.
View 1 RepliesI'm using loadMovie to load a jpg into my movie. When I do, I can't see any of the stuff that was in the movie before (even though it's not in the container MC) Is this a known thing? How can I fix it?
