So I have a dynamic text field that is loading an external .txt file with html coding in it.I can get the text to load and display properly, however I now want to make a custom scrollbar and I have no clue how to even get it to work.I've tried a few things and just can't figure it out. I want to make a custom one instead of using the component one. It doesn't even have to be a traditional scrollbar, I would much rather just use an up and down arrows. View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble and I was hoping someone could shed some light on what I'm doing wrong. I have a main .swf file from which external .swf files are being loaded through the use of buttons.When I preview the animation, everything works just fine. The problem occurs when I put the animation on the website where it needs to be. The main animation appears like it's supposed to, but the buttons are not successful in loading the external .swf files. I've made sure that all .swf files are on the server but still nothing.

I have an swf movie embedded into HTML (it's designed to work as a webpage) but for some reason my links to load external swf movies into a placeholder don't work when the main movie is embedded, but are fine in a flash player.

2=at the end of playing video i have to automatically go to nxt html page. 3= i was able to do all the stuff using tutorials but in slow internet speed,my page switches to next page before completely playing the clip. well i can show u the code i used for loading video.

my videos duration was 75 frames,so i tried a trick,i made a mc of 90 frames and at the end of it gave the code.so at completion of 90 frms it switches to html i want that the video should play completely and switch to html.

View 1 RepliesI have a class that loads data from a text file and puts it into an array called tdv.importedTxtArray (public var).In a separate class i have written [code]The infoArray does not then contain the imported text however because tdv.importedTxtArray is not given its popper contents until about 1/2 a second after the tdvLoader class executes (i.e: when Event.COMPLETE is run and the array is populated with strings from the external text file). Subsequently in the code above infoArray is set to a blank array.How can i get the code in my separate class to ''wait' until tdv.importedTxtArray is properly populated before accessing it.
View 2 Repliesin my projects i often use some xml files to load external text that i can format in css and it worked fine till now..i have a site that i am prograaming in italian and german and in both languages there is much text that contains special characters as "à " "ò" "è" "ù" "ä" "ü" and so on .. the problem is that when i write some text with this special characters in xml when the text is loaded in the flash this special characters are not recognised and instead of them a small square is displayed ..
i tryed to load the text from a html file instead of a xml file (because in HTML i know how to write theese special characters and let them display right in my html pages .. for example à = à but no way .. the flash now loades the text à instead of à ..
So I'm loading text from an external file I've uploaded onto the internet. It loads absolutely fine when I test the movie from my computer, but when I upload it and embed it onto an html page, all of the dynamic text refuses to load. Can someone enlighten me as to what's going on? Or at least tell me how to fix it? XD;

View 2 RepliesWhen a user clicks on a link in the HTML page I want to place a SWF on the user's current page and load HTML content into the SWF (in a textArea). The HTML content comes from one of many HTML files sitting in a folder on the server, depending on the link that was clicked.
So obviously the link must contain the name of the desired HTML file. How can I take the contents of that file and send it to a SWF?
I am having a couple of issues with dynamic text. I am loading fairly simple text documents, but am ending up with some font oddness. For example, I am using plain Arial in the CSS but am ending up with words running together. In the word "Oxygen" the "Oxy" letter spacing is really tight. Do I have something odd in the CSS? Pretty straightforward so I can't figure out why things look bad. Would embedding the font, even if it's arial, make any difference? How does that work in the code? I tried using the embedFonts = true; but that didn't seem to really do anything. So I'm thinking that perhaps I should be loading HTML or something for these external text files. These aren't huge, but several of them contain listings, headline, main body copy, sub head - the typical sort of thing on would find in a text file. Is there a good primer out there as to what works with CSS and text files or different ways of getting text files into Flash?

In an older, different version of the site made in AS2 it loads the same xml with no whitespace.I've tried setting xml.ignoreWhiteSpace = true but it doesn't seem to change anything.

I'm making a four column layout with four dynamic text fields and text that loads from a html file. The structure of the site and which html file is to be loaded on which page is specified in xml, but the actual content on each page needs to be editable in separate html files (different people will do the editing, and I don't want them to go around messing with the structure).
The problem is that I need the four columns of text to be loaded from a single html file. I was thinking that I could make four paragraphs <p>paragraph1</p><p>paragraph2</p> etc., one for each column, but how do I load them each into a separate dynamic text field?
I import my text from a external text file, my text is in html but i have to use a (& n b s p ; ) space to make sure that a part of my text will not drop down on the following line.The (& nbsp; ) code is not understood by flash and make all the following text desappeared.

I am doing a Flash header where button text and links has to be easily configured by the owner, so i'm thinking the smartest way is to load button text + link from an xml file.There will be 7 horizontal buttons. View 2 RepliesI'm loading some external text dynamically. Before I've always added the text to a textbox which is already on the stage. Now I'm adding the textbox with actionscript too but it's cutting off the exterally loading text at the height of the textbox (I know this because I am scrolling the text). There must be some property of the textbox which I haven't setwhat it is?Btw, I don't want to just change the height of the textbox as I am loading in many different texts of different lengths and this is affecting the scrolling.
