I have an swf movie embedded into HTML (it's designed to work as a webpage) but for some reason my links to load external swf movies into a placeholder don't work when the main movie is embedded, but are fine in a flash player.

So there is nothing too strange there.... the problem I am having is that my quiz has a timer on it, and on the first question the timer does not work.. On the odd occasion it does like 2 seconds and then freezes. I am completely lost to why it is doing this! The quiz works PERFECTLY when not being run via the preloader, so it must be related to the loading process itsself.
I have saved a dozen Fonts into separate swf files (embedded in the library of their respective .fla files). I am loading up to four of them and whilst most of them work, the script silently fails for Arial and Times New Roman. These fonts have been embedded and compiled the same as the others, and when I trace the available fonts I get an object saying that the required font has been loaded ([Object { fontName="Arial", fontStyle="regular", fontType="embedded"}]), however the text is not being rendered. If I change which font to use then the text is rendered using the correct font and performs as expected. It is only with these two fonts that I have a problem with.Is there a common problem with embedding these two fonts or is it possible I have changed a setting somewhere?

But when it comes through to the onLoadComplete Function, I get a sandbox violation. I've tried using Security.allowDomain and a crossdomain.xml file, but it just won't work. Even more annoyingly, if I do the exact same thing, but within the main class file, it works fine.5 or so of these classes that need to load images are loaded from an XML file (which also works fine without allowdomain etc). Is there some sort of conflict going on because of there being more than one of them?

I'm having trouble and I was hoping someone could shed some light on what I'm doing wrong. I have a main .swf file from which external .swf files are being loaded through the use of buttons.When I preview the animation, everything works just fine. The problem occurs when I put the animation on the website where it needs to be. The main animation appears like it's supposed to, but the buttons are not successful in loading the external .swf files. I've made sure that all .swf files are on the server but still nothing.

i am a webdesigner i do flash layouts and animation and trying to learn as2, I have a problem with one of my projex, 1=i hav to load an xternal swf video in flash 8 file,
2=at the end of playing video i have to automatically go to nxt html page. 3= i was able to do all the stuff using tutorials but in slow internet speed,my page switches to next page before completely playing the clip. well i can show u the code i used for loading video.

my videos duration was 75 frames,so i tried a trick,i made a mc of 90 frames and at the end of it gave the code.so at completion of 90 frms it switches to html i want that the video should play completely and switch to html.

I want to make a custom one instead of using the component one. It doesn't even have to be a traditional scrollbar, I would much rather just use an up and down arrows. UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.
I have an <mx:HTML/> component in my flex air app that shows a web page. The problem is, if the web page has a link on it and they click it, it does not take them to that page. Is there a way to allow this, or a work around? is there a way for the loaded webpage to send Flex info about events that occur in it?Here is my code:

I am using in AS3 "External Interface ". When I call the JS function that is on the same page as swf everything works fine.
I added a link in the html page to an external JS file, when I move the JS function to the external JS file the website crushes.
I would prefer to have all my JS functions on an external file so I can use them in the future in other project and it also makes it easier for me to update the site.

I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.

[FMX] I am having trouble loading an XML file on an external server into my flash movie when it is uploaded. The data loads in fine when the flash file is on my local computer with the xml file on a server. As soon as the flash file is uploaded the XML data will not load in.

I have the most weirdest problem with Flash Player and FlashDevelop (to be honest, dont know which one causes it), so let me explain. I have recently downloaded FlashDevelop and created an AS3 Project. When I compile the project, the files are generated in the bin folder. Now, when I navigate to the bin folder and open the index.html in Firefox and IE9, everything works fine. However, when I copy the bin folder somewhere else and then try to do the same, i can see the flash movie in Firefox but not IE9.
