Im trying to make a container in flash but i would like the width of the container to be the size of the stageWidth & height to equal a set number. Having these set width & height will allow me to add another container right next to the side of the first container, this second container not being visible on stage. e.g. container1.x = 0, container1.width = 100, container2.x = 100.
[Code]...
as you can see the width has been set according to the object inside the container (the ball diameter 100, therefor container width not set to 100 rather than 550) If there is nothing to stop flash doing this, I had a thought of maybe adding a rectangle inside the container with no fill so its not visble therefore the bounding area is taken from that rectangle which could be set to a width of stage.stageWidth.
ok so when I load a clip to a container it should overwrite that movieclip in favor of the new one. I've been going over the path tuts on various sites as well as variables (not sure if that would be better) so I'm still using _root instead of _global.Could the problem be putting more containers inside the main container on the main stage? I have to position things in different areas so that's why i have several containers._root.container1.container2.loadMovie("mav101.swf")[valie68 wrote]I'm have buttons that load one movie clip that controls another movieclip to load into a container on the main stage. they load but they wont overwrite each other. so they all wind up on the stage area together. maybe a paths problem?
I'm creating a master movie that will load 4 external swf's. To do this, I made a container of sorts by having an animated screen rising up. I created an empty movie clip and titled it "empty_mc". I dragged it onto the "container screen" but when I press any specific button to load one of the external swf's, they don't maintain the container size.
So, how do I ensure when a button is pressed for a particular swf, that it stays within the confines of the container? To see what I'm trying to do, here is the site: [URL]
Some of the buttons aren't working yet. However, the Drag and Drop one does for sure...just out of scale of the container.
I'm experimenting with how to do this by this code by using loadMovie and loadMovieNum. I believe I'm supposed to use loadMovie if I want it to be inside a container. I know the code is messed up in parts, but I was just trying to see which one gave me the best result...none did what I wanted it to do,
I am going to have a situation where i have all sorts of different sizes of graphical data coming at me from XML. The only thing that all of these assets have in common is that they will be sharing a 100px by 100px thumbnail and they are SWFs.My question is, how can i make an object fit into the thumbnail so that:1) Theres no cropping of the item2) Items smaller than 100x100 must be enlarged3) Items larger than 100x100 must be shrunk
How to make a container/Movie Clip dynamically resize such as the effect employed in this site (animations included): [URL]. Furthermore, is it possible to have images load from an XML file and contain the information needed to have the container/Movie Clip resize accordingly.
I'm developing on Flex 4. I have a datagrid container and custom itemrenderer with a text field, a button and a few boxes. Every time some data is displayed, the app stalls for a second or two before rendering completely. Is there any way to make it render more fluidly or render one after another...?
I'm trying to create a Flex application that can automatically shrink based on the size of the components that it contains, so that a user can shrink it to a minimal view to see more of the HTML page it's embedded in.
I know how to change the size of the whole application using ExternalInterface, but I'm having trouble automatically figuring out how much the size changed when something is hidden or shown.
How can I hide one of the text fields and cause the VBox to shrink? I'm currently setting it to visible = false, but that doesn't seem to affect the parent VBox.
Once the VBox shrinks, how can I detect that the Application no longer needs so much space, and then go about figuring out how much less space it needs?
I've tried using ResizeEvent, but I haven't been able to get them to work, but I could be doing something wrong.
I am trying to create a gallery where the thumbnails scroll across the bottom and when you click on the thumb a new large image opens up on top of it from the same image.
What i would like to do is open up the large image but draw a box around this image so it blanks out the background of the site and all you see is that picture.
Its a similar function to the way this site works;
In a Flex Mobile project I have a simple itemRenderer where I'm trying to create an "bubble" texting effect, similar to ichat or iphone (just so you get what im going for). But if the text is longer than the screen it runs off, rather than just going down a line.
If I set Group thats holding the rectangle(to create the bubble effect) and the label to 100% it works and keeps it from exceeding the list containers bounds, BUT the group is always at 100% and looks bad, I'm trying to keep the "bubble" JUST AROUND the text.
Anyway so, at the top of my itemRenderer I tried specifying:
And here's my layout I figured since msg_container has a width of 100% I was hoping bubble_lable_group would just not exceed that but...it doesnt...it just runs off. I tried setting a max width but that does not allow you to input percents. And just to say it 1 more time. I know if i set bubble_lable_group width to 100% it works, and keeps it from going off the edge, but then the rectangle "bubble" stretches all the way across and just looks bad.
I am facing a issue in Flash container. I am having a project which has main container which call different SWFs into it. Now I call this main container file into another container, and their problem starts. Many option doesn't work properly which generally have _root, _parent etc...
If I want to run project (main container SWF and child SWFs) into another container file which place on a website. I want to show whole project from this container file so what I need to do?
i have a flash document with buttons along the top which when clicked display different flash documents below in a container.. now one of these which gets displayed has 2 buttons on the side next to them another container and within that container you get 2 different documents displayed depending on which button you click on the side.
so i have managed to get it so you have the first document displayed within the second container with the buttons to the side, however when you click one of those side buttons to view the second document it appears to display it in the first container as the buttons that were next to it have now gone.. i've tried changing the names of each container so they wouldn't get confused with each other but that seemed to cause it not to work at all.
I have a loop that goes through data from a book and displays it. The book is not consistent in it's layout so I am trying to display it in two different ways. First way(works fine) is to load the text from that section in to a panel and display it. The second way is to create a new panel (panel creates fine) and then add collapsable panels(nested) to that panel. Here is the code from the else loop.
else if (newPanel == false){ // simpleData is just for the title bar of the new panel // otherwise the panel has no content
[Code]....
The error I get is: ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property panel4.4 not found on components.readTest and there is no default value.
I have tried setting the "name" property instead of the "id" property.
I am creating an flex Air project,so mxml file will run. I have circles in one Big circle at one side and will be same on other side.
Now how to drag any circle from any Big circle to other side. Or it could be like any two container having circles, then how to drag and drop circle?
For one circle i am able to do drag and drop.But I want one Big circle on left hand side and one big circle on right hand side .And small circles with class names will be in these big circles.Now i want to drag and drop those small circles in big circles.Big cicles should not move. Even i have tried this code in actionscript
I need to place an image into a container. The problem is that I will not know the size of the image or the container beforehand, so it all has to be dynamic.this is how I started (have not gotten to stage(or container) changing size yet. No matter what I try, either all the images are the same width, or they are all the same height. If some images are portrait and other landscape, I don't want all the images to be X pixels high. In this variation of the code, all the images turn out the same height, regardless of portrait or landscape.
ActionScript Code: var ratio:Number = container.width/container.height;//get the ratio, if width is bigger than height then ratio is greater than 1, else ratio is smaller than 1
I'm currently working on a custom component which extends Canvas (let's call it SuperCanvas) ; it's basically a container that let you zoom & pan its contents. It would be too long to explain why, but I can't use scrollRect, so I was forced to declare a Canvas object (called innerCanvas)... inside my SuperCanvas (I know, not very nice =/) I would like to know if there's a proper way to "redirect" the creation of my component's children in this canvas.
I'm building a website with php/css. I'm a photographer and will be displaying images, one per page. I'd like to allow the user to click an image and view it in fullscreen, scaled to their screen resolution.I know that much can be done in flash. However, I'd like to display html elements once the fullscreening has occurred. This is because I want to retain right-click functionality.
(specifically, I want users who are going to try to steal my images to actually be able to download the image out of the sized div it's in, with metadata and hidden copyright notice intact, rather than taking a screenshot and bypassing all of my usage and copyright notification)So... flash fullscreen containing html elements?
What I want to accomplish is to resize an external SWF so that it fits into the display object that is presented as a container on the stage. For now it show up outside of the container.
Important: I do not want an external SWF to occupy the whole stage; I have a special place (that container) for it on the stage.
I'm trying to call a function from a AS3 container which should call old AS2 SWF that cannot be edited bacause we are talking about 1000 swf files, does exist some way to call a function inside the AS2 SWF from the AS3 container? I know a possible way by adding a LocalConnection as written here but as I said I can't edit all the swf files, so I just wonder to know if does exist some alternative.
I am making the flash bit of a kiosk. The swf will be running in a exe shell. Is there a way to have the swf see what is containing it (browser, exe shell, my hand, your hand...) and if it is contained by the exe shell it will call fscommands, otherwise it wont? The exe isn't finished yet, and I'd like to test my swf without it giving me security errors. I'd also like to be able to show my boss the swf in as few clicks as possible
I used guestbook form here:[URL] and when I load it into a container in the flash website the guestbook doesn't read the data from txt file. It works ok when it's alone.
I then loop through each asset node and add it to a LoaderMax var. The problem I am having is that I want to declare the container for the asset I am loading in the XML file, but when I try the following code I get this error message:
Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert XMLList@2ebc2e51 to flash.display.MovieClip.
Code: var xml:XML = event.target.content; var assetsList:XMLList = xml.asset; var mainLoader:LoaderMax = new
Firefox throws the flash file out of it's container? The page behaves correctly in IE8 (32bit). I posted in DW forums who suggested it was a flash issue and not DW. [URL]
I have a flash animation with the size of 1280x1024 and I want to embed it into an HTML file. I want the flash file to be displayed in 800x600. This is my code:
Basically an array if fed to callThumbs() which iterates through it and compares the entries with preloaded XML _my_images. If match is found, it's sent to processXML which loads all relevant info and loads a .jpg thumbnail. All this is then fed to createCell which creates a specific cell with position values depending on x_counter and y_counter values (4 cells in a row) and adds the cell into a container _container_mc.
The Problem: This all works fine and looks fine, the problem is that the cells within the container do not display in descending order. They are in random order, probably because some of the .jpg's takes longer to load etc. How do I easily organise the cells within the container in descending order by the XML .id value? Or how do I tell Flash to wait till the thumbnail and data is loaded and the cell created and added?
//Flash (AS3) function callThumbs(_my_results:Array):void { // selector = 1 for specific items, 2 for search items var _thumb_url:XML;
i am currently working in flashbuilder and i imported a swc wich containes a ratingcontainer. That ratingcontainer contains 5 ratings, they are labeled "Rating1", "Rating2, "Rating3", "Rating4", "Rating5".These are placed on the stage. i also have a sprite called "Star" and when i for example click on "Rating4" then every Rating from 1 to 4 should get stah Star sprite added to them, when i click again on Rating 3 or something then only 3 the first 3 should have the star added. i tried the following:
detailContent.RatingContainer.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ratingClickHandler); private function ratingClickHandler(e:MouseEvent):void{
I have a simple swf in an invisible <div>; when user mouseover's the <div> becomes visible.The swf has a ExternalInterface.addCallback( "..." , ... ) to create connection to js that needs to be called at load, such that by the time user mouseovers the flash-js connection is working.PROBLEM: on windows safari the flash does not go through its loading sequence until the user finally mouseovers
Using MovieClipLoader, is it possible for the loaded swfs to access movie clips in the container swf movie? In building a preloader for a previously produced flash app (originally made for CD), I was running across huge problems with some dynamically created masks (created using attachMovie and setMask). My solution (not ideal, I guess) was to move the masks and the masked objects into the preloader ("container") movie. But still need to move them around by code located inside the swf being loaded.
Relevant code from inside the preloader: myMCL.onLoadInit = function() { _root.attachMovie("screenText12", "screenText12", 15) _root.attachMovie("internalMask", "internalMask12", 17) _root.screenText12.setMask("internalMask12"); }
And from inside the swf being loaded: _root.screen12.onMotionFinished = function() { screenText12InY = new Tween(_root.screenText12, "_y",mx.transitions.easing.Regular.easeOut, 463, 403, .5, true); The red is where I'm not sure of how to get in contact with the movie clip in the preloader.
