is there a way to play sounds one after another avoiding overlapping without using the SOUND_COMPLETE event by SoundChannel? I have a few sounds to be played in order and using SOUND_COMPLETE would take me to add to many listeners.

I'm trying to run some simple code for a Flash slideshow involving the SOUND_COMPLETE event.All I'm trying to do is to get to the next frame where my nav buttons show up after the current audio file plays completely.I'm aware that new Sound Channel object is returned after the audio file plays and a new eventListener is required, but I've inserted a new listener in every place imaginable and I still can't get this to work.Here's my code.

I am trying to simply have it so that when you put your mouse over the little blue guy, the sound repeats faster but does NOT overlap, infact, I don't want the sound to overlap at all. Also I want it so the sound stops playing on the next scene.

I have a button that rotates a wheel 90 degrees each time the button is pressed. What I'm trying to do, is play a sound when the wheel stops at each rotation. So something like this:

Wheel rotates to 90 degrees.
90 degrees = sound #1
Sound #1 plays once.

The rotation works fine, but the problem is, when I tried to do this I put in a statement that with my wheel named "wheel" if wheel.rotation==90 play my sound. But my sound keeps looping and SOUND_COMPLETE is not firing to trigger it to stop.

I have a playlist menu made up of movie clips acting as buttons, one clip for each track from a CD. The user clicks on a button, a corresponding sound clip plays and the movie clip button the user selected switches from frame 1 to frame 2 to change color while the sound is playing to show which track is currently playing.

Using an array to store the music tracks (named "Track 01" to "Track 08") and a "switch" command, my user is currently able to select and listen to a given track. My current problems lie with presentation.

I am having two problems with this project:

1. If the user allows the track to play through to the end, I need a single function to be fired on the SOUND_COMPLETE event (and I have applied the appropriate listener to my sound channel) which will reset the button to frame 1, as a visual indicator that the track has stopped. I have been unable to come up with such a function as yet.

Currently, the selected button just stays yellow (frame 2) instead of turning white (frame 1), and the user has to click twice (instead of once) to make the track play again.

2. My playlist includes a "play all" function to play all the tracks through in sequence as laid out in an array. While the track sequence plays fine, I would like to have the corresponding button for each track jump to frame 2 while that track is playing, then back to frame 1 when the track stops.

I am trying to find a workaround to the problem of looping mp3 files, basically the silence in the transition (from end to start). I could use wav files but I need to load the file externally, which makes not possible to use wav. So I did this

I've been playing with the dynamic audio library standingwave 3. Almost the first thing one notices is that if one tries out the code samples in the developer's guide, namely this code:

then one gets a really unpleasant sound and trace messages that read "AUDIO CLIPPING". The developer explains in one of the issue reports on github that you need to reduce the gain of samples when you mix them together to avoid this, and that there's no easy way to know dynamically how much reduction is needed.My question is, how is it that stangingwave2 seems to have dealt with this automatically? For instance, the code quoted above did not clip in SW2. Likewise consider this SW2 example demo - if you increase the sustain and hold (the S/H sliders) and press one of the sequence buttons, multiple tones will overlap without clipping, even though the source doesn't show any apparent sign of changing the gain or the volume of the sin tones, they just get mixed together.What's going on here - did SW2 have some way of dealing with this automagically, or is there some robust way of generally overlaying arbitrary numbers of sounds dynamically without causing clipping?

I am using an xml based slide navigation shell that uses next and back buttons to page through content.

If I use SWFs with embedded audio (which I need to do sometimes) the audio will overlap after I leave the slide, SoundMixer.stopAll() is not doing the trick. I think removeChild may be the direction I need, but I'm not sure how to implement so far.

I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.

Im sure this has been asked a million times, so forgive me but I cannot seem to find an answer or my search query is wrong. I am using Tweener for animation.

I have 2 MC's on my stage. I have an event listener for my main MC (MOUSE_OVER, MOUSE_OUT) that triggers Tweener to animate another MC on top of the main clip. The problem is that when it overlaps the listener no longer works, and tried to execute the MOUSE_OUT. I understand why its not working, I just cant find a solution. Below is the code for a simple Flex actionscript project. A sprite is partially covering a hyperlink. What's happening is that when you hover over the sprite, if you're also hovering over the hyperlink, the hyperlink is activated. I want to prevent that. I want the hyperlink to be activated only when the mouse hovers over it -- but not when the mouse hovers over the sprite which covers it.

I have a website that has two flash items on it. I have a swf that calls mp3s that plays on the page load, and I have a FLV that plays on page load. What I would like to happen is: on page load the FLV plays when the FLV Finishes the swf starts to play the mp3s. What already happens is that the pages load in _blank pages so they are in new windows. This is good because while you navigate the site, the music from the homepage is still cycling through the swf's mp3 playlist. The problem comes in when you navigate back to the homepage from a new window, and the homepage is still open within the first window. That means that the video plays over, while the music is playing, and the music doubles up. Now the video playing isn't bad, it's that music is doubling up. Can't it sense itself playing a 2nd instance of itself on another webpage and stop it?

I want to push a button, and play through the entire array one sound at a time. When the first sound stops, the second begins, etc. all the way until the last sound plays. When the last sound finishes, all sound should stop, and if you push the play button again, it should start over at the beginning, and play through all sounds again.

I'm thinking the SOUND_COMPLETE needs to be used... I'm just not sure how, hence the empty function. I only want to have to push play one time to hear the entire array in a sequence.
