i was wondering how can I use the buttons inside an Embedded SWF? here's the scenario: The artist gave me the "title screen" swf with all the animations, buttons and stuff. I code using FlashDevelop and i can just create seperate swf for the buttons and place it on top of the title screen. but if only i can just use the buttons that are already present inside the Embedded SWF will make our life easier.

getting a rotating banner I downloaded to actually work on my home page. So I'm using FrontPage 2003. I've got my index page open and I select Insert, Picture, Movie in Flash Format. I browse through my subfolder and select the swf file. But it will not play!However, when I follow the exact same steps, but on a page that is located within the subfolder where all the files are located, the video plays just fine. So I know it probably has something to do with my file path, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My files are located like this:

index.html
subfolder-
(There is the deploy folder which has two subfolders in it - banner and js.)
deploy/
banner/content/images/image1.jpg
banner/content/images/image2.jpg[code]......
I've tried copying and pasting all of the files so they're in the root folder, and then embedding the swf, and it still doesn't work.I've tried editing the banner.xml page and telling all the folder paths to start from the root folder, and that hasn't worked either.
I posted a question similar to this not so long ago however I have trawled through the forums and could not find an answer...I am using Lightwindow which is a version of lightbox that can have ANY form of content and DOES support .swf files.I have linked the test link on my page to activate lightwindow and open the swf file. Light window opens the window to the correct size but does not display any content. If I go directly to the flash file then all the test images load.Here is the code for that link:

I have two buttons on the dialog box, but for some reason you can't click on them and when you do, the dialog box just disappears. If I create a button on the main stage it hovers and works fine but if I create the same clip inside the embedded navigation window the tooltip does not show up. I do not have any error messages but it is not there that I can see.
I have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:

View 3 RepliesSo I'm creating this flash game for our company's 2010 halloween greeting card and I'm having some problems.All it is an swf that has balloons randomly moving upward.Each balloon is a movie clip that has another "button" movie clip inside of it. As you click on each balloon, the balloon pops and then recreates itself. The only problem is that the button inside the balloon is not acting like a button the entire time.
The upward movement is being called through an enterFrame event listener and the use of the button goes in and out as the balloon moves upward. It's a pain because you have to click the balloon multiple times in order to get the balloon to pop. Does anyone know why this is or if there is an alternative to enterFrame?

The navigation on a website I am designing is an swf file embedded inside another swf file, the latter being the body of the site. The navigation buttons are themselves embedded inside movie clips inside the embedded swf file...
I'm sure I'm missing some sort of line of programming, however my actionscript skills are rudimentary at best. I have assigned a simple goto webpage behavior on each of the buttons. However, when I look at the site all put together, they do not work.
I was wondering if there is a way for a button on the main timeline that when pressed will go to the next frame in an embedded swf. The embedded swf is inside a movieclip with the instance name "gallery" so I thought the following code would work

The mute button code I have works perfect when the SWF is played itself, but when it is embedded in a wrapper SWF it no longer works. I know that it is the code that references _loc1. I have the root locked in the first frame of the embedded swf with this:

if i change type of button symbol to movieclip at next_button.fla, there is no problem at passing CLICK event.
i tried to cast next_btn to mx.controls.Button and fl.controls.Button classes, next_btn is becoming null in that case.
by the way button is reacting mouseover and click events properly just doesn't pass it to upper swf.
is there any trick i can do to pass Button events to my container swf?

I've made a mask with a FLVPlayback inside and with a sliding bar that appears when I make rollover in the FLVPlayback. All working well.
