I have some movie clips. i want to drag all clips when i drag single movie clip. Ex. I have movie clips "A1", "A2", "A3", "A4", "A5" . Randomly visible some of them. Suppose "A1", "A3", "A4" has visible. When i will drag "A1" movie clip all these "A3", "A4" also move with "A1".
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to create a loop which generates a single series of sine results ranging from 0 to 1 based on 100 loops ( ie 0 ,0.011 ,0.1111........up to 1 in a single run)The results I want start at 0 and increment in a series up to 1 and then stop. I suppose this would be one half of a sine wave I have tried the following but it goes from 0 to 1 ,1 to 0 , 0 to 1 etc whereas I want a single straight run of 100 values from 0 to 1

I was wondering, sometimes i get confused from which point in a movieclip to indentify another movie clip. I was wondering if this would work lets say i have a series of movieclips with these instances in each other
mc being the top most movieclip
mc>mc1>mc2>mc3>mc4 now lets say my code is in mc4 and i want to indentify mc1. Could i do this?
Code:_root.mc.mc1 I have no idea how to use the "parent" reference tag from that deep within a movie clip. Is "_root" a good method to use? Will it work? even though its being stated from with that movieclip?
I want a chart that has several separate series running in rows across. They are largely separate charts and should not overlap, but all share the same horizontal datetimeaxis. They don't share the same y-axis, however and that's where I'm getting stuck.I have tried having a linechart series and then a plotchart series, but it will only allow a single <mx:series> per chart without having them inside the same series which as far as I can tell will place the charts on top of each other in the z-axis. I can stack them and have them completely separate charts, but it was proving to be somewhat irritating having them align correctly.
Is there any reasonable way of combining multiple charts into one like this? Basically having rows in a table where each row is a different chart but the columns are consistent. or am I going to be best served just by stacking separate ones? an illustration of what i'm going for is here: http:[url]........
I have 9 movie clips which I want to load in random order, so that viewers who come to the webpage don't always see the same thing. I have them set up as 9 frames within another mc. I need EXCEPT it always displays the first one first, and then the rest in random order. I tried making the first frame empty, but then there was a big lag before it showed anything, because of the timer. Here's the script I used:

I am loading these 5 images into a sequence of boxes. Everything works fine except Images are not coming in sequence. They are coming in random order. for Eg.: Box1 contains 3.png, Box2 contains 1.png..so on..[code]

View 1 RepliesI recently posted a .swf inside a new window with javascript. everything works fine on a PC, the movie will load on a mac. You should be able to click and drag to "spin" the object within the movie (it cycles a series of photos to give a 360 view), but when on a mac the cursor changes but images are not cycling. i'm sure it could be a number of different things but I'm unsure where to start.

View 2 RepliesI want to create an interactive learning module that would use a simple drag and drop test. I've already browsed the net for guides and it led me to monkeyflash.com that gave me a very helpful guide. On the guide, there can only be one object be dragged to a target. But then, I wanted my test to have multiple objects (movie clips) be dropped on a single target (also a movie clip) only and stick to it. I'm thinking that I could place my draggable objects on an array, but I really had difficulty on executing this.
On the code below, a drag object can only be placed on one target only (i.e dragIn1 can only be dropped on targetdragIn1 but not on targetdragIn2). Yet, I want all dragAt objects be dragged on all targetAt, dragIn with targetIn, and dragOn with targetOn.

I've been trying to do a drag and drop game, the logic of the game is that I have 4 blocks grey1_mc, .
grey4_mc, and 8 targets target1_mc,target8_mc.Now, grey1_mc can be dropped only on targetgrey1_mc and targetgrey2_mc, similarly grey2_mc on targetgrey5_mc and targetgrey6_mc grey3_mc on targetgrey1_mc and targetgrey2_mc grey4_mc on targetgrey5_mc and targetgrey6_mc
when grey1_mc or any other greyBlock hits it assigned target it should be locked onto the target and should not be clickable. Also it should play a movieclip inside of it i.e., a Green Tick Mark. if grey1_mc hits any other target it should lock on to that target play a " Red Wrong Movie" and then snap back to its original position.

I'm doing a project where I have a movieClip grey1_mc and I have 2 white boxes, which are also movieClips white1_mc and white2_mc. What I want to do is to add a Drag and Drop functionality such that, grey1_mc can lock onto white1_mc if droped on white1_mc, also grey1_mc can can lock onto white2_mc, if dropped on white2_mc. And the usual snapping back to original position if placed elsewhere on the stage.
This is just for one movieClip grey1_mc. I've got 4 such movieClips

So, grey1_mc can hit white1_mc or white2_mc.

grey4_mc can hit white3_mc or white4_mc.
MovieClips white5_mc to movieClip8_mc are only to show a error message in the o/p window.
I'm pretty new to Flash and seem to be struggling with variable scope, events and where to put code within movieclips/main area etc. What I'm trying to do is produce a Flash movie that will allow the user to click on a tool from a selection, i.e. a circle, then click on another part of the screen to place the centre of the circle, with a second click to set the radius of the circle (an alternative would be a single click and drag to place the circle and drag it out to the desired radius.) Once the mouse if clicked a 2nd time, or the drag operation is completed, the circle will stay at the selected radius.

This uses a simple circle movieclip, and the above code is placed in Frame 1 of the background as opposed to the movieclip itself. It resizes the circle movieclip ok, but I want to be able to control the resize with the mouse or with a single click/drag.
I've multiple videos stored as MovieClip objects and would like to merge them into a single MovieClip video object in order to play all of them in sequence (so that a user thinks it's a single video).

I have a four groups of images which are stacked one above the other. the images which are under the top image won't be seen.I need to drag an image which is on top and drop it on target movieclips(10)I need to validate each target movielcips will contain max 3 images which should be from different groups. No two same groups's images should bedropped on any target, doing so it will go to it's original position.I am facing a problem handling depths of the images/movieclips. Whenever I try to drag an image(placed at the top) the bottom-most image gets dragged. I don't know why is it happening

Now the catch is that I'd like the map to be dragged simultaneously with a movieclip situated above, that contains names of regions, cities etc.. Both can't be on the same layer as I need to put a layer of texture in between.
Is there a simple way to link both layers and make them move at once?

View 1 RepliesI'm making a drag and drop wordgame, and I've encountered a rather irritating problem. Based on the words contained in an array, I create different movieclips with drag and drop functionality, so that they can be dragged on top of the corresponding correct translation of the word. Problem is that when I add a textfield to my buttons (using addchild), dragging and dropping becomes rather buggy, and dropping doesn't work properly, quite often. "Bug-free" version, no text on the MCs: [URL] This was done based on a tutorial that used pre-made movieclips containing shapes, maybe it was at kirupa, I don't remember where I read it I'm afraid. There are many tutorials out there on this subject, but I haven't found any that show you how to dynamically create movieclips which contain text and drag/drop functions. Here's the code:
