I've got a bunch of text boxes that I need to be able to change the text size of with the click of a button. All the text needs to be embedded so I tried to use a tlf text field and target it but to no avail. This is what i have.

So I'm trying to build a tool that will allow me and other users to all open the same .swf, and then I as the Admin user am able to interact with mine while they all see my mouse movements and button clicks etc on theirs.I'm using BlazeDS to manage this and I'm getting data sent back and forth etc - no difficulties there. The issue I'm running into is this:
In an "Admin" instance, I click a button. I capture that X and Y, then tell Blaze to tell my clients to dispatch a Click event at that X and Y. On my client side, I get that data and dispatch a Click event at that X and Y - but the click is actually caught at the stage level. The click on my client side takes place UNDER all of my buttons and other content - so the whole thing fails.Is there a way to tell it to start the click event at the top?
Is there a way to dispatch a SWFAdresss CHANGE Event but also pass parameters (an Object) along with it?I see something like that in the documentation but I can't find an example online...
Then I have a custom component that also has a dataProvider. How do I get it to dispatch a collection change event when its dataprovider finishes loading?From what I've read, I can't do it. Will dispatching a propertychangeevent work?
UPDATE:I have a custom component that I call 'SortingComboBox' but it is not a ComboBox at all; it extends Button and I set is dataProvider property to my arraycollection, model.product (which is an arraycollection). how I use the dataProvider in that component:

how to construct a dispatch event in the wrapper that reaches into the loaded swf?
If I have say 7 buttons, each containing text that changes color on rollover using the "Up" "Over" and "Down" keyframes in the buttons' timeline. Is there a simple way to get the button's text to change color when clicked, stay that way, and then change back to the original color once one of the other 6 buttons are clicked?
The only thing I can come up with is writing pages of code for each button that changes the color of every other button regardless of whether it was active.
HOWEVER: I would like that if - for example i am on item 10 and click to item 4 - all the thumbnails between 4-10 are removed. it it possible to dispatch this click event X number of times dependant on the - count value?? I have an input textfield, and when I click in it, all the text in the textfield moves to the left so you can't see it anymore. (Here is a screen shot of it with both textfields having "100" in them after clicking in the top one:'ve tried playing around with the different textfield properties (autoSize, condenseWhite..) and can't find one that fixes this.
I have added a menu to my game, and now certain text for the game does not appear unless I quickly double click the text field. Everything non-text works. The Sidebar is an instance of Sidebar movieclip which has two text fields that I added in the flash IDE, both with correct instance names. I have embedded my fonts, and tracing the text of the textField gives the correct number, without any return lines or whitespaces. The "double click shows text" is only for my countdown time.
My other score text field does not display no matter what, not even the text I set in the flash IDE. The only thing I can think of why is maybe flash stops rendering it because I have another menu movieclip that I set the alpha to 0 on stage that might overlay the text fields, however removing the menu movieclip does not fix the problem. Right clicking on the text field, select all, copy, paste gives the correct number.

What I have so far is a carouselmenu. I got a actionscript page (page1.as) where I load another one (page2.as) into. page2.as is a Sprite (or MC whatever). I can load and display the sprite in page1 successfully (several instances). I also have an eventhandler when i click on an instance of page2. The problem now is that I have defined a textField inside page2 that is also being displayed. What's not working here is that when I mouse over the text, I cannot click on it (the cursor turns into the cursor that appears when I mouse over a text as in MS Word or similar for being able to mark the text). So I thought of making a bitmap out of the text field. how to transform a text(field or string) into a bitmap?
