ActionScript 3 :: Align Coordinate Labels Of Triangles To Never Collide Each Other

I am trying to achieve something similar to the flash movie in the below link. [URL]. As we drag the points of the triangle, the coordinates labels, ( A(1,2)) are properly aligned and arrange themselves so that they never collide with each other and never falls inside the triangle.

I have 2 spark labels next to each other. They are in a basic layout and both have bottom set to 0. They have different font sizes (28 and 12).
Both fields only display numbers. I want the baseline of the numbers to line up.
At the moment they do not as there are no descenders and the descender area of the line is obviously a different height for the 2 different font sizes.

I'm building a small 3D engine for a game I'm working on. I've got my basics sorted: textured triangles with backface culling. However depth sorting is proving to be a difficult problem.I'm calculating the face Z by averaging out the 3 points that make up the triangular face. The longer faces sometimes overlap the smaller faces since they have a larger Z value and therefore rise up in the depth sorted display list.Is there a way I can use the area of the polygon to influence the depth sorting in any way? Or are there algorithms to accurately detect which triangle is above which triangle?

At first I thought making tringles out of Polys was an easy concept. Considering I start with a quad of ABCD then I could convert this to two triangles of ABC and ADC, which is easy. However an alternate answer is BCD and BAD. The real differnce between the two outputs is exacerbrated when I now calculate the Normals for the two new faces. Also in some cases the edges break against the UV texture map in an undesirable way. Obviously in choosing the output faces I should be choosing the method as well that doesnt produce highly acute angles above all else. Unfortuantely I also have a number of pentagons and hexagons to render as well.

I'm using Flash 8, and I'm hoping to work on a platforming game. I'm pretty familiar with programming in general, but Flash is a little confusing for me.What I have at the moment kind of works for generic collisions, but my problem is that it works too well. My player symbol collides with absolutely everything, on every layer, even including text.
Right now my file only has two movie clips, Player, and Bounds, and there's an instance of Player named player_1, and an instance of Bounds named Wall.
For collision checking, I used the following if ( _root.Wall._parent.hitTest( ... ) ) { /*do stuff*/ } and this works well enough, I collide with anything, given that I check in the right place. I'm happy with the way that this works, but is there any way I can confine the collisions to the layer the symbol is currently on? I'd like to design the levels, and just draw the foreground graphics on the layer above, and the background graphics on the layer below.
Using trace, _root.Wall._parent returns level0, which I'm going to guess is maybe the scene? I'm assuming collisions aren't really meant to be handled this way, so if I have to totally redo them, I'll understand, but it would be most convenient for me if I can confine the collisions to only a single layer.

This is a test program to measure the time it takes Flash to draw a triangle 10,000 times. The app (code below) calls runTimeTest() every N seconds which draws the triangle 10,000 times. Now for the "interesting" part: each call takes increasingly more processor until after about the 6th or 7th call it goes to "infinity" (see screen shot of TaskManager) Weird bug or explainable??

I am trying to calculate the top most intersection of an arbitrary number of planes, with no joy! I am using actionscript, but just need find an algorithm that i can implement.
Problem:
consider 3 vertical axis.The user enters 3 points for each triangle/plane such that the points of the triangle lie on one of the axis.The user can enter an arbitrary number of triangles I need to find the topmost layer of these triangles and display it on the screen as well as the coordinates of interection.
Here is a picture to clarify what I mean with 2 triangles:
However, when we allow for more than 2 triangles, I get awkward lines of intersection.

I've got a function here that spawns an enemy for me and I'm calling it in a loop every few seconds or so that it creates a new enemy every second. This all works great.What I want to do though, is to make the enemies collide with each other. How would I go about doing this? I've tried using hitTestm but it detects that each enemy is hitting itself which is always.I've attached my code.

Not only am I a newcomer to these forums but I'm also very much a newcomer to ActionScript, so I hope you will have some patience if you are able to provide me with a crystal clear answer to my problem and I'm still a little lost! Basically, I have made a flash game where the player moves around on screen and tries to collect a little ball. There a timer on the ball that counts down to 5. One of two things can happen from here: 1. If thetimer reaches 0 before the player collects the ball, the ball is moved to a new random location, the players "lives" count goes down by 1 and the timer goes back up to 5. 2. If the player collects the ball before the timer reaches 0, then the player's "score" count goes up by 1 and the ball moves to a new location with the timer going back up to 5.

Somehow the collision does work as expected. Either they never move at all and "collided" was traced, or they'll continue moving and never collide when I tried swapping values around. Is there something i'm missing in my logic??? My box-box and circle-circle collision are working fine.

I followed the bit101 tutorial on gravity and now have a movie clip called "ball" (instance name) with an embedded invisible button (so you can throw it all over the place).I also have a movie clip called "block1" (instance name too! what a coincidence, isn't life lovely). I want to make them collide, and make the ball bounce away.

i have a mapMC on the stage and 6 buttons. i need to be able to make the buttons move the mapMC to specified coordinates. the coordinates are set and will never change. i also need an easing from one location to the next. i guess i'll go ahead and throw in a bonus question for any of you aces out there. lets say location "A" is at x=200, y=400. i would like the mapMC to get there and scale 120%. so a button that gets pressed will go to its coordinates and scale acordingly. i can see that this could be script heavy, but for some reason not too difficult.

first have a look at this: [URL] It loads "auto" coordinates from php file, and makes the "auto" move after timeinterval. It is needed tht it could load infinate coordinates, but i fail to do it. If u change setProperty(auto, _x, kord ) to setProperty(auto, _x, x2 ) , it works, but as u can see only with one coordinate.
