I use a datefield on a form for user to pick an appointment date.All is working fine but I would like to make users cannot select previous date (ie yesterday).

I have a Flex application embedded in a Flash application, which was working fine and currently works fine if not embedded. As of last Friday, when embedded the Alerts do not show (no error, just nothing), DateField Calendar dropdowns do not show (null value reference of DateField), and dynamically showing the busy cursor errors (null value reference). My code for the Flex app did not change, and I can't think of any reason outside of Flash Player updates (which I think unlikely) or something has changed in the Flash application that is embedding it.

View 2 RepliesI have a DateField component in Flex and I want to stop any user input. If I set the editable to "false" then it stops users changed the bits of the DateField box. It does NOT however stop them from clicking on the calendar icon next to it and updating the date. Is it possible to disable this? I basically want the component to be read only under some circumstances but not for it to have any alpha overlay. Therefore I want to use editable rather than enabled.
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash as 3.0 project that has 16 movieclips, each movieclip contains 3 images. The first image is the same for all 16 mc's the second image is different for all and the third image is different for all. I have the fla set up so when it is called it will play the first mc and stop. Buttons on the rightside would be used to move the playhead to the desired framename to play all the others.
My question is, each image fades in each clip like a build then stops. Is there a way to code this so when you select a new image to play the stopped previous clip on stage can play backwards so instead of fading in it would fade out, THEN the playhead would move to the frame name and play the newly called clip? So it would work like this

View 3 RepliesThe AS2 DateChooser has just the functionality I need to build the events calendar that I have to build .. however .. while I know what to do in theory, I'm stumbling on (a) whether it will work and (b) syntax.
I want to display an instance of the DateChooser (myDate) and access the selectedDate property when the user selects a date. Then I need to pass it to the main events page preferably on the same page with something like this:
SELECT EventTitle. EventDescription, EventLink FROM Events
WHERE EventDate = MMColParam
MMColParam 1 myDate.selectedDate
The page itself is ASP. I am thinking I would probably define a variable and perhaps use LoadVars to load the selected date from Flash .. not something I have done before.
Perhsps something like

I'm sure that's not the syntax .. but I think that is the theory. I should be able to access the selectedDate property of the Date Chooser instance and feed the date into the query to select the events on that date and list them.

I'm working on an 8-user app that runs over a wi-fi network using an XML socket. All of the hardware is located inside a medium sized room in a school building.At the start of the app, each user can select 1 role from a pool of 8. However, the socket connection runs at less than realtime, probably because of latency from the wi-fi, so it's possible for two users to make the same selection at the same time. How would I prevent this?

The question is: in what place do I have to insert this code and to what object I need to link it? The target is that the user can't select a day in the future.

ok so i have drawn some letters up, this way i can have everything looking just the way i like. i was going to put it in as an image but then it hit me, what if i wanted the user to be able to select the text? so i wanted to ask if there was a way you could make it act like a textfield. i was thinking it finds the character value and gives a value of 1-26. 1 being a and 26 being z. then it adds the movieclip to stage, changes to the frame relying on that value i just mentioned and positions itself accordingly.but what i haven't thought of yet is how you'd make it selectable.

My problem is that while the user is waiting for the full sized image to load, he may decide to close that image and view another image. I am trying to find a way to stop a loader from loading.ere is the code I have used. My problem is that even though the user has clicked on the unloadBtn, the loader continues to load the file. Is there a way to disable that?

how to cycle through XML data with previous and next buttons. I have been working through targeting data, but havn't been able to figure out the .length to completely cycle forward and backwards. I kind of have a next button working. This will cycle through my data forward and start again at [0]. The problem is when I use the same code with flvIndex - - , it will work until I am at the beginning [0]. then she crashes. I like how this works and would love for it to cycle backwards.
