Actionscript 3.0 :: Buttons To Toggle Fields On/off?

I am trying to create an interface with multiple buttons (left side of screen) that will toggle on or off (increase alpha) multiple graphic fields (right side of screen) that are not mutually exclusive
Ex.
If btn1 is pressed (checked), fields a, b, c will turn on.
If btn1 is pressed (unchecked) again, fields a, b, c will turn off.
If btn2 is pressed (checked), fields b, c, d will turn on.
If btn2 is pressed again (unchecked), fields b, c, d will turn off.

how to toggle on and off states on my buttons. Once a user clicked one it fades and disables ok as I want but i also want it to enable and fade back up again when they select another button. Below is my code:

I've got the following code working perfectly so that when I click the 'mc.fullscreen_btn' the movies goes full screen. When I click 'mc.fullscreen_btn' again the movie returns the the browser. However ideally I would like it so the user has to click a deferent button to return the movie to the browser (ie: _root.topmenu_mc.displaymenu_mc.displaymenuON_mc.b rowser_btn).. is this possible using the code base I have?

I made 5 buttons on the stage. When these buttons are clicked I want to show AND hide items related to the buttons. Is there a way to "toggle" a simple button so that when it is cliked the first time it shows the object, clicked a second time it hides the object using the same function? In other words, is there a property of a simple button that changes state?

I am trying to make a toggle button where, when the user clicks it, it changes from grey to red. I am using movie clips rather than "button" symbols because, when switching between states, buttons look kind of bouncy after you click them. I have everything working, however, because I am using movie clips the "hand" cursor does not appear when I hover over the buttons. I am using very basic code:

I've got five buttons and want them their enabled property to toggle as you move through the menu. So, if MenuItem1 is disabled (because you're in that section), then you click on MenuItem2, MenuItem1 is automatically enabled. I'm using SimpleButtons. No need to use anything more than that.

I'm new to flash and just need to do a simple task but I can't manage to get it to work. I'm trying to import a video (flv) into a SWF container and need to AS functions which should be exposed to JS (using liveconnect or anything else). These two function should toggle sound on/off and toggle play/pause. I dont need any user interface or a full featured player, just these two functions.

I've got a project that loads video clips and text via XML. I'm trying to add buttons but I am not sure how to code them. The problem is, I'm creating 4 transparent buttons over four dynamic text fields. In the XML doc I have 11 different sections or groups of content. Those text fields with the transparent buttons change when each video finishes and a new section is loaded.
What I want to do is get the changing value of any of those 4 buttons that I click while one of the sections is playing and load that new section. At first I thought I'd just check to see what the current section is that's playing and then if I click on the button that represents the next section I would increase the value+1. If I click on the button that's supposed to represent the third section from the current one then I would code the button, current section+3 and so on.
That would work fine but If I'm on section 9 in the XML and there's only 11 sections, I can't add "current section+3" because that would go to section 12 and there isn't a section 12. I would want it to go and load section 0.

I have a user text input field and a preview button, when they press preview the inputed text appears in a dynamic text field in another part of the window. I need to be able to change the font of the text in the dynamic field using buttons (so the user can see their text displayed in various different fonts which will be embedded into the swf). After watching various different tutorials I hashed together this code for my first button to change the font to Times New Roman which I embedded with the class name timesNew.
ActionScript Code:

When I run the movie everything works fine and the console shows no errors but when I press the button to change the font the text in the dynamic field simply disappears.

What I need to do is assign 5 separate dynamic text fields to 5 seperate buttons and at the same time to those same five buttons i would like to add 5 images that i would be able to change merely by swapping out the images in the file theyre in on the server.I would also like to get a nice transition between the images...ALSO i want to dynamically load the images for the buttons that will be used for switching from picture to picture(which im thinking i will be able to do after i know the how to do point the aforementioned things.)
Through tutorials I've found around the net I've been able to get most of the parts together... but i get lost because what they show you for AS2 they don't for AS3 and vice versa, at least that ive seen.so... I guess my question is... would i need to set up 5 seperate dynamic text fields on the stage and then set each one of them to one of the corresponding button. If so what AS code would i need to use to do so. And if not what would i need to do?
The other part of the question would be I know about the UILoader... would i be able to use it as my buttons and images, if so would i need 5 seperate ui loaders for both the Thumbnail buttons and the images or is there a way that would be better to do it? and once i do that would i do the transitions using frames and tweens like with AS2?

I am having a problem getting radio button data into php and I can not seem to find any answers. My project is simple I have a group of radio buttons, when one is selected and a submit button is pressed I want the data from the radio button to populate the subject line of an email and send it.I can make a form work with input fields but not with radio button data.

I can't get the code to "know" which of the dynamic thumbnails has been clicked (by "know", I mean return an index value, say 0 through 7 if there are 8 projects, that I can use to access that particular project in the array of 8 projects in the rest of the code)... So if the third movieclip thumbnail were clicked, I'd like "2" to come up somehow... I've tried this code, which is kind of lame, I know, based off of the idea of each of the thumbnail movieclips' names ending in their index number:

I have a button, just one button, that I want to be able to use to toggle sound on and off. On the button I have included the following actionscript:
on (release) {
stopAllSounds();
}
Can I add additional script to turn it back on again? Maybe an if statement? The sound is currently being loaded and I cannot really add additional frames to make this work. I have to be able to include the script in one step if possible. Unless a movie with several buttons is the only way to go.

note;ok considerinh flash swfs in flashplayer app all works fine so i think the problem is not inside swf but HTML when i run my index.html for the 1st time in browser(all of them i tried) it opens in normal mode. i hit toggle button and it switches me into a fullscreen mode. great success...well it aint)

now when i go back from fullscr in to normal mode for the 2nd time, and want to hit toggle button to get again for the 2nd time to fullscren, i click the button and all that happends is my hand pointer turns to arrow pointer. And then i have to rollover and click button again to get to full scren mode..

NOTE;from fullscreen to normal it always works ok(browser or flash palyer)but from 2nd normal to 2nd fullscreen i gotta click twice...something like once to activate a button again and then to click it for the action to execute..i dont know if i run this only in flash player localy toggle works perfect, and that is why i think the problem is in html parameters and not in swf...

I have a diagram with three buttons that when clicked, draws a line from that button to the corresponding movieclip on the stage. All this works fine but I'd like to build in a toggle button so I can turn each line off in any order. I'm having trouble understanding how to reference each shape that's been draw on the stage so I can remove it

I'm simply creating a button in flash that should alternate between a 'play' graphic (i.e. > ) and a pause graphic (i.e. || ) every time its clicked. That's all!
In shockwave I would simply type a line of code that would set a new memberNumber or memberName to swap the graphics on mouseUp. How do I do it in Flash? I called a friend and he though I had to do something like create a movieClip inside a button or vice versa. It all seems rather complicated for such a simple task.

I need to add text on screen (for hearing impaired) to a simple movie I created. I just need to have text toggle on and off. I don't know how to actionscript the mc or button. Working in F8, publishing to F6.I did see the visibility on/off rollover thread... but I'm not actionscript saavy and can't make the leap to an onpress or onrelease button, rather than a rollover.

I have created a game where all the main actionscript takes place in one frame.For extra functionality I was going to add a button to toggle on/off sounds, after searching this forums and others Im left confused how to implement this.If i choose to use stopAllSounds() Im aware it only stops the current sounds and will not interfere with sounds about to occur.
Collision detection and random sounds occur within my game on an interval, is there a simple way to turn off all sounds permenantly? The only other id would be a button with a toggle and use multiple IF statements to check status of sound on/off.
