How can I print multiple pages in Flash (based on dynamic HTML content that might vary in length)? For instance, how would I grab the text that is beyond the limits of that first page (the printJob.pageHeight)? I can get the text fields text height and subtract the printJob's page height but how would I grab 'the leftover' text.

I am making a flip book in flash. I am using swf files as individual pages. User have the option to print pages. I am converting the swf into a btimap using bitmap data but when I print the test is not clear and all pixelated. Is there any way to improve the printing quality of pages?

So I step backward and try to simplify it but it is still not working. It's been years since I worked in Flash but I've been asked to give this project a shot so I'm kind of learning to ride the bike again.

I try to print all frames of a movieClip where each frame is a unique page. My movieClip have 3 different frames. The result is that I have 3 pages, but it's printing only the first one. I tried to call
myPrintJob.addPage(clipAImprimer, null, null,1); and
myPrintJob.addPage(clipAImprimer, null, null,2);
to make a test and it's the same result. I confirm that my clip has 3 different frames. I tried too label #p each frame but it's not effective for PrintJob. I have Flash CS4 and I can't use Flex, Air and Catalyst.

I am creating a Flash project that involves loading 4 external .swf files (from a library of files), via MovieClipLoader, into one frame of the root timeline, creating a finished layout. Each of these external files sits on its own layer (1 to 4). I want to be able to print ALL 4 layers from this one frame, at once, on one piece of papercan this be done?if so could someone give me example of what the script might look likeI can print just one of the layers using:

my problem is that I don't understand/care why anyone would want to print out a flash site in the first place... so it is impeding my ability to find the answer to this problem. all i want to do is be able to let my client print their website out. the whole thing, page by freaking "page" (or in this case content area). The problem is that it's dynamic, has between 4 and 6 levels per content area, dynamically loading html text (css formatted) with jpgs in <img> tags.
The clients are using Firefox on Mac and report that blank pages print out when they use the print function of Firefox. When I print from Firefox on my PC it looks great. In fact - much better than IE because it doesn't squash the site to fit it on the page. I can't use the Print in the context menu because 1. it only prints the bottom level vectors, 2. can't guarantee the Mac people have right-click I have read up on print(), printjob(), printasBitmap() and they all target levels or mc's. is there a way for this to happen? is there a way to push a screen capture into the clipboard and print that? actionscript?
Trying to figure out this printJob thingy in Flash. How can i make it send either 1 movieclip to one print and another to another printer, or the same movie clip to both printers?

View 1 RepliesI have a sprite that has a scrollbar that uses the scrollrect feature. The sprite has several bitmaps and textfields. When I print the outer sprite (The one with the scrollrect) all of the textfields outside the scrollrect are cut after the first line. In case anyone else is having problems with printing sprites with scrollrects using the bitmap printing option fixes and prints most of the stuff in the sprite. Excluding all textfields outside of the scrollrect. This however can be fixed partially by embedding your fonts.
So now the only problem left is printing multiline textfields that are outside the scrollrect. P.S. Imho the scrollrect should have nothing to do with the printed area of the sprite because the printJob.addPage has a printarea parameter.
I was wondering if there is an easy way of navigating through a website without the use of multiple pages and eliminate the use of a navigation bar. My idea, which I'm sure has been done before because people are always coming up with new inventive ways to browse the internet, is to be able to allow the user to free roam the entire website on one page. I wouldn't be asking if I found it so I figured I could put my mind at ease and ask someone.url...In this map, it allows the user to free roam this map and find different cities. My idea is to have the user to browse a map of a website to different parts of what would normally be links to other pages. The whole web map would be one page and the user could just move their cursor up or down or left to right to each section of the website. Once they get to a section, they can click on certain parts. There is one website that is similar to my idea, but I want to eliminate the use of a navigation bar.I am new to flash but I love web design. I want to come up with a new way to navigate.

I am building a basic database website for my local community and everything is going fine until i try to add more script to control buttons on pages from the menu. The menu has 7 buttons which work, then on each of those pages is 6 more buttons. The first page works fine but when i add the code to the next page to control its buttons i get access of undefined prop. error and keeps playing through whole timeline. This is the code im using to control the buttons on pages from the menu.

I used it and it works. way i could specify a btn or mc in the loaded swf that will specify the "click" area where the unload content takes place? I'm creating a interactive cd in Flash.In my flash file is a movieclip that consists 103 frames. Every frame is a different page.I'm using Indesign to create this pages because its the best way to work with so many different pages.When I export the pages to .jpg everything looks and goes wel. Only the quality becomes very low when putting the swf to fullscreen.I've tried exporting it as .swf but is it wisely to put 103 .swf in a flash file? I'd like to keep the text vector and readable on every screen size.

I have a button at the top right of the page that allows me to stop and start the music. The problem exists when I go to another page (the audio is playing), then click the home button again. This starts the audio track from the beginning again whilst the first track is still playing.How do I need to modify my code in order to stop this from happening?

This is hard to explain, so bear with me... I'm creating "pages" of draggable buttons so that I can reorder them according to their revised positions. Everything works great but I'm stumped as to how to drag the buttons forward or backward a page based on the current active page. If you look at the file you'll see exactly what I mean. I have a portion of the code commented out because that's the area I'm stuck on.
All the MC's are created on the initial load, with each additional page appearing "off the screen" by an adding 1000 pixels per page (in the X direction). Then I just reposition all the MC's as the pages are scrolled through.
What I really want to do is drag a button to the edge of the screen and have all the MC's move that represent the appropriate page. I think I need some sort of timer there or it just flies to the last page.
FYI, if you change the variable "TotalVBs" it will modify the number of displayed buttons. If you change the variable "myButtonScale" it will modify the scale of the buttons. Increasing either or both of these will add more pages to the program. [code]...
I'm kind of stuck on something and I haven't been able to find out how to get around this. I have a form that consists of 3 pages. User fills out the first page, then clicks continue, fills out second page, then clicks continue again, then fills out final page then submits. Usually when I build a form, it's just on one page so I just send all of the variables to a php file. In this situation, I'm not sure how I could jump from page to page.
View 1 RepliesI have a printjob routine, that starts a new job, then handles the following in a loop for printing multiple pages: 1. update content for every page in a sprite. every loop it's the same sprite. the sprite is visible on stage 2. addPage to Printjob after that sends the printjob to the printer
Now the Problem: On Windows it runs perfectly. On Mac only the last page was printed. the other pages before are empty (white). Her's my code. As you can see i try to print a table on multiple pages. In every loop i only show the rows for the actually printing page:

When the preloader was created I expected it to show the first time I visit the site in order to load the entire header file. What I didn't expect was the swf to have to preload on every page of the site. Shouldn't the swf header already be completely loaded once the first page accessed by the user has been loaded.
To see what I'm talking about, visit [URL] and observe the preload of the same header file on each individual page.
I'm trying out a page-flip program that tells me to create the pages as jpegs within a folder named "pages" in the Library. When I try to run it, it tells me it can't find the jpegs. I can get it to work locally by including the full URL (i.e., "...My Documentsedinnerpartiesimagesp3-large.jpg), but I know this isn't embedded in the swf file.
