View 1 RepliesI've been making the transition from AS2 to AS3 for the last week and am making progress. But I'm having a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. I'm using Flash CS5. I have a fairly simple Flash website I'm working on. I have sections on the timeline like Home, About, Photos, Media ... all set up using labels for each of those sections. Everything is working fine but when I go to my Media section where I have a video placed (using the flv component) I'm having a problem as follows:
The video auto plays fine when I go to the Media section but when I attempt to leave the section and go to another the sound of the video doesn't stop. It continues to play when I go to another section and if I go back to the section it starts again. The video is not there when I go to another section which is the part that's confusing me. In AS2 when I did this the video and the sound both stopped because you went to another section on the timeline. Why is the sound of the video not stopping in AS3?
i have a video that appears when looking at my 'Other' page. But when i click onto a different page i see the new page but can still hear the videos sound. how to stop the video when you leave that page?
View 2 RepliesI made a movieclip that has 3 plain color thumbnails and 1 image thumbnail pop up when my "change theme" button is clicked. I can't figure out how to go about changing the background color/image when the appropriate thumbnail is clicked. I know I need to set up an addeventlistener, but I don't know where to go from there. Maybe I need to have Flash load a new CSS file for every thumbnail clicked?

I have a website that plays video1 when it opens. When you navigate to next page the video stops. One of the buttons on the second page plays video2. The problem is that video 2 won't stop using the same command that made video1 stop.

I did fine doing it but there is some problem I cannot figure out. My movie clip starts nice but half way through when I go to other pages, the sound and music plays in all the other pages. I have zero knowledge about coding and English is my second language. How can I stop that playing in other pages? I am trying hard to see if someone had same problem like I do but can's find anyone posted any thing.This is the code I have for that page with video on it.

I new to Flash and Action Script 3.0. I've just designed my first Flash website (for a band), and one of the pages has an MP3 player on the audio page. It plays fine, as long as you're on that page. But the problem is, when you go to a different page in the website, it keeps playing, and then when you return to the audio page, a new instance of the song that's playing starts playing on top of the song that's already playing. It's a jumble of sound that can't be stopped unless you close out of the website.[code]...

View 2 RepliesI am building a flash application using flex. From time to time, I see an issue in IE 7 and 8 where the user logs into the site and the browser content pane is completely grey and the entire page (html, javascript and flash) won't load until the user clicks the X (Stop) button next the address bar. As soon as the X is clicked, the html loads and then the swf file loads immediately.
This doesn't happen for me or any other developers on the project so it is very hard to diagnose. The users are all using the latest flash player. The only difference between our setups that I can think of is that we have the debug version of flash player and they probably do not.
How do I remove the video on the other pages?
I have this video I'm loading on a particular video page. It plays fine on that page, but when the user clicks to another page the video is still showing.

I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. View 3 RepliesI know how to make a video (instanced as showreel) stop when clicking on a button that that navigates to another section/frame, since otherwise I would still listen to that video while not visible. The problem is when I'm in another frame that doesn't have that video, when clicking on the menu to go to whichever other frame, it looks for that it to stop if it's playing and it and doesn't find it, and so there's an error.
How can solve this? Maybe I should put an order saying something like if there exists a video in that frame instanced as sowreel, stop it, otherwise don't do anything as there is nothing to be stopped. Or assign the order to the frame (which is called motion), but I don't know how to do that, can someone help? The code I have is:

The Mc_menu has several buttons with the code "_root.pages=2" which moves the different pages that are in the Mc_pages. If I publish the fla. it works perfectly. Now, when I wanted to load this swf into another with "loadmovie" with an empty MC the pages stop working... I guess is because of the rutes, but i don�t know how to refer them correctly. The problem is I'm not sure how to stop the parallax from moving when I click on the MC pages on the map. They are marked as Village1 , 2 and 3. The pages AS3 scripts are under parallax-level3 MC. While the visitor watch the intro, he has the option to click "Skip intro", then he goes directly to the main site scen.In the intro scen I also have added a sound trackSo, I would like to find a way to stop the sound when the visitor click the "Skip intro" button and are linked to another scen. Right now the sound continue to the end of the sound track, even though I click to change scen. Does anyone know how to do this?

then all motion tween or shape tween of this movieclip will stop at this frame. what can I do to prevent this?
I'm trying to stop a toggle button from changing state when clicked, based on some conditions, but I'm not sure how to do it.
I don't want to disable the button, because flex 3 styles don't allow me to get the visual effect I need.

I have a simple Flash-player button (toggle play/stop) that plays MP3s. When I press play the MP3 starts and the button changes to stop. When I press again the music stops and the stop-button changes to play. I have several player-buttons on my page. How do I stop all sounds when I press play on one of the buttons? As of now, I can start several MP3 at the same time and I don't want that. I've tried this:

Also, when the MP3 has finished playing it should turn into a play button. As of right now it's a stop-button when it's finished playing. How do I change it to a play-button? This is the Actionscript 3 code:

View 3 RepliesCurrently one of our teams suffers from a very strange phenomena: after manipulating the z property of a MovieClip and changing the stage quality some event listeners of nested MovieClips seem to disappear (or at least not react to the proper events any longer).
The problem also only appears when doing both, changing the stage quality and manipulating the zproperty.
Here is a simple class demonstrating the issue:

I am looking for a simple solution to my problem. I have 3 flv videos I would like to display after each other. That is fine, however, My problem is that I want to change the flv files (thus changing the video too). My problem is that since the videos are different, the time between one another may vary. I would like to know how to instruct Flash to skip to the next video once the previous one has stopped.
