Actionscript 3.0 :: Make An Explosion And Move Other Movieclips On Stage?

I want to make an explosion and move other movieclips on stage depending on how far they are from the explosion point. If one mc is only 10px away from explosion it should go another 90px and if it is 75px away it should go another 25px. I can't get it to work (I don't remeber anything about vectors in math class..)
Ive attached the associated file, Its simply a partical generator that initially creates an explosion of particles which disipate after they stray a certain distance, but how can i remove the original particle movieclip from which Its formed?
Is it real to make my stage shaking by actionscript? For example, shake the stage with all object after big explosion....But without touching objects (without their movement). Just cool effect. So?
How do you make a movieclip move horizontally from the start of the stage to 3/4 of the stage. Stage size is 700 px by 600 px i want just one row in the middle of the stage. i want that movieclip to disappear right after it reach the end of the 3/4 mark.
I am trying to make a little demonstration of how animals hunt . I cant figure out how to make the ball move and bounce around the stage. and i also need help on the paddle that the ball bounces off of. if u could help me out that would be awesome.
i need to make a movieclips _x and _y absolute to the stage so that i can duplicate a movie clip to the _x and _y of the mc without it just duplicating to the top of the stage (did anyone get that or was my english too bad?)
I have a mini-project where I want to make an object grow and move to a different section of the stage when I click on it. I know how to do this part, but what I want is for it to "move" there as if it were a tween, but I want to do it with code instead of with the timeline. I want it to function exactly as it does now, but with a motion tween. I also do NOT want it to jump back to the beginning when another button is clicked, but rather play from where it is. I've also attached the FLA with this.

So what im trying to do is make the arrow2, body and target move to the left of the stage and make the actual arrow (flyingArrow) to move down to give the effect of a flying arrow?
I'm making a application where the projector is played fullscreen, and the stage itself is not scalable. But I'd like to make an animation where movieclips come sliding onto the stage (starting outside the stage). But because everything is fullscreen, you can see these MC's outside of the stage, this is not what I want.
So, is there a way to be able to hide everything that is outside of the stage?
I typed out a function in an attempt to make two MovieClips appear on the stage in random locations onClick but I think I either forgot to add something or forgot to take something out.

This code works as a hitTest, but it seems like "A" doesn't know to stay with the "strandT" that it collided with. How can I tell "A" to stay with the "strandT" movieclip that it hits, and not the others on the screen (there will be many "strandT" movieclips on the screen at once). Does each "strandT" have a unique name or level that I can use to identify it specifically?
I have a .as file that creates 6 buttons. For the buttons I have another .as that is their base class (sets the rollover effects). That .as also handles the CLICK event on those buttons. But nomatter how I try I can't seem to make it so, that if one of the buttons is clicked it would turn to 3rd .as that would make a MC called "rabbit" on the stage move.
I got a flash movie clip (Walking_Man.swf) which has a "Man" character who walks but on same place. It means he doesn't move a bit on stage. Now, I would like to give a realistic look by moving him from left to right. How can I do it?

i have 2 movieclips: i want to move both of them but the second movie clip will only move if the first clip reach his final destination how do i do that?
well i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.
Using Tween class maybe? I tried the easeOut. But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.
figure out why the movie i just made is off stage. I just I don't want to start from scratch or move every object that is off stage onto stage. What did i do to get it here to begin with???
I am a newby trying to create an animation in CS4 AS3 which simulates a gas explosion in a test chamber. I have a button that when clicked will produce a simulated spark inside the chamber which then will snowball into a gas explosion if the variables are correct.
Does anyone know how to create a simulated explosion in CS4 AS3 ?
I have looked around for this but haven't found any that seemed close to what I am planning on doing. My question is: Is it possible to have movieclips move from one swf to another?
My problem: I have two swf's next to each other that are in an html page that simulate the look of one swf. I need to animate text here and it won't be user generated. I have looked at the local connection on Adobe but it seems as though it's user initiated. i would like to animate using tweener.
I was hoping for assistance on how to recreate an explosion effect like Flash 8 adn MX used to have. It seems to be missing now. It is not in the presets. I tried to break apart but something is missing. How can accomplish this? I am trying to explode and IMAGE not TEXT.Particle tutorials seem to explode into hundreds of parts. Im looking for 12 to 16 exploded pieces. I'm not the great at AS2 or 3 but Again this is for an image not text so the simple Break apart doesnt seem to be working.
i'm making a game with tanks at the moment, and there will be explosions happening from side to side on the screen. i was thinking that it would be good to pan the sounds, so explosions on the right of the stage would play on the right speaker etc.
i tried to do this by creating new sound objects for each explosion and then setting the pan for each, individually, but it seems that when i set the pan for one sound object, it sets that for all of them. is there a way around is?
