I have been given an .swf file that needs to be added to an HTML page - no problem. That file then needs to link to another site. Is this something that needs to be added to the file before it is loaded onto a website?
I've seen the following code provided in other threads, but either it is meant to be used when creating the file, or I'm not using it correctly when I try adding it to my .asp page.
on (release) {
getURL ("<URL here>", "_blank");
}
If I'm not trying to do something impossible, edit the code below to make this file link:
I am using a Carousel i found online , everything is working fine and it also uses am XML file which contains the icons and the tooltip . If somebody could explain how i would add a hyperlink into the XML file , so each icon points to its desired location , my XML is as follows :
you can see the SWF here:I'm trying to make some of the text in the SWF hyperlinksBelow is some of the XML -- how and where do I add the code to link?
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><root difference="10"><node><year>1970</year> <text>Stephen Galvano installed as pastor at 421 Child St. </text> <pic>1</pic></node> <node><year>1971</year> <text>The Inaugural International Missions Convention. </text>
I have made a Flash banner for my website using CS3 but I wanted to add a hyperlink to it so that when someone clicks on my banner it will bring them to a different page on my site, kinda like the way ad banners work on most websites on the net. I have the official Adobe CS3 Flash manual as well as another one on Flash CS3 just as thick but I can't seem to find anything in either that explains how I can do this.
the last step was to add hyperlinks. As soon as I add a single link, size jumps to 26K ! Even after removing the link, size stays at 26K. Only way to go back to 8k is to close the file, and reopen the previous copy. I did a bunch of googling but couldn't find anything.
I add a hyperlink by just entering text in the "link" section of the property panel when u select a text.
I would do it in AS, however I am trying to make the flash file SEO friendly and thought maybe the AS approach will make it difficult for search bots to index.

I have a completed Flash (AS2) project that's pretty involved. Now, I need to launch it from a hyperlink on an html page. I want the hyperlink to launch the ".app" or ".exe" file - not the html that Flash publishes. I don't want the user to view the project in an html/browser window but rather as its standalone projector/exe.
I tried a regular hyperlink like this[url]...but that doesn't launch the .app. Instead I got a browser screen showing the path to the app inside the "FLASH" folder. The app is viewed as a folder named "GUIDE.app". (weird) So I surmise that a regular hyperlink isn't going to do the job.
How do I launch a Flash projector or executable file from a hyperlink on a separate HTML page?
I am using JSON to parse HTML data with customized html tags in Flex. Flex's support for HTML is pretty minimal, so I am wondering if it's possible to do a simple font color change rollover effect on these links. Currently I have found that Flex only supports a few HTML tags, but also supports CSS through Flex's whack CSS methods. Can I manipulate HTML that is written in my JSON files through an external CSS file? Or better still using a simple tag with the JSON file?
I have a flash movie with a dynamic loading textfield formatted in html. What I'm looking to do is format (using a tag?) the loaded html code to have a hyperlink (<a href?>) gotoAndPlay(2) or perform other functions.
The basic idea is that I have a string that contains a user's comment, which could potentially contain URLs, so I wanted to take a string like:"Gee, the folks in the Url...And using pattern replace, replace the URL with an HTML hyperlink, so the string would end up being:[code]So my question is how can I alter the pattern replace code so that it accommodates a string containing random text, as well as a URL.
Does anyone know how to create a hyperlink on an swf file? i think it can be done using actionscript during the creation of the fla, but i want to see if it can be hyperlinked AFTER creation, just using the website code.
Because I have altered the images in a slideshow using flash derived from a website and its working properly but I can't remove the hyperlink from that swf file. I'm not good at flash action script. The php code to embed in the page is: <?php

I've got a problem displaying a hyperlink pulled in from an xml file. This is my AS: Code: var xmlData:XML; var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("app1_text.xml")); xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, xmlProcess); function xmlProcess(e:Event):void { [Code] ..... All the other text displays fine, but the hyperlink text doesn't display at all - and I'm not getting any errors.
I have a swf (members.swf) that loads a list of members using an xml. In the information text for each member I would like to put a hyperlink that would load another swf (image_gallery.swf) that also uses an xml file. Ideally, I would like to create an xml for each member (member1.xml, member2.xml, member3.xml etc..) holding their image gallery information BUT I would like to use the same swf (image_gallery.swf) to load each member's image gallery according to their xml file data.
So basically I would like link to a swf file and specify the xml to be loaded for that swf in the hyperlink.
I want to hyperlink to a zip file using a button in flash. Is there anyway i can do this? the GetURL bit doesnt work. (at least not in mozilla). The final file will be a projector so it has to work from there. When a person clicks on a image, it links to a high-rez tiff in a zip file.
I was reading about Flex- JavaScript communication via ExternalInterface.But I had a doubt, it said that the javascript code should be written in the HTML file of the application ? Now which is this HTML file ? Is it the index.template.html file per project or the HTML file created per MXML application ?
I have attempted to have a hyperlink text using actionscript:
[Code]...
when I run the code it always creates a new window to open up the file in. I have even attempted to switch out _self with _top, _parent, and _blank, always with the same result. I simply want the file to open up in the same window.
I'm pulling data from an XML file into dynamic text fields in Flash. I have a field where I want to pull in a different url for each node, but display the same text and I'm not sure how to set that up.
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
When i use html in my xml it seems that as3 add the html text hidden to the textfield causing an y moving because of the html. How can i do to use html in xml without adding it to the textfield?
i'm trying to add a music player that i created in CS3 w/ AS3 to an html page, also created in CS3, DW, using XHTML 1.0 Transitionalthe player works just fine when i test it in flash but then when i try to view it through the html page i get this error ::
