Does anyone know how to create a hyperlink on an swf file? i think it can be done using actionscript during the creation of the fla, but i want to see if it can be hyperlinked AFTER creation, just using the website code.

I've seen the following code provided in other threads, but either it is meant to be used when creating the file, or I'm not using it correctly when I try adding it to my .asp page.

All the other text displays fine, but the hyperlink text doesn't display at all - and I'm not getting any errors.
I have a swf (members.swf) that loads a list of members using an xml. In the information text for each member I would like to put a hyperlink that would load another swf (image_gallery.swf) that also uses an xml file. Ideally, I would like to create an xml for each member (member1.xml, member2.xml, member3.xml etc..) holding their image gallery information BUT I would like to use the same swf (image_gallery.swf) to load each member's image gallery according to their xml file data.
So basically I would like link to a swf file and specify the xml to be loaded for that swf in the hyperlink.

I want to hyperlink to a zip file using a button in flash. Is there anyway i can do this? the GetURL bit doesnt work. (at least not in mozilla). The final file will be a projector so it has to work from there. When a person clicks on a image, it links to a high-rez tiff in a zip file.

How can I remove / unload an external swf file from the main flash file and load a new swf file, while at the same time removing garbage collection from memory?
View 15 RepliesI am a high school student who has an assignment to develop a Flash Video. My goal is to make a really cool Flash Video by downloading a Youtube video of paintballers and then converting their images to a line drawing and then animating the line drawing. Well the problem is that after I've imported the FLV into Flash CS5 I find it impossible to edit out an internal chunk of the video. Every time I try to remove a chunk of the video, it ONLY DELETES A SECTION FROM THE END OF THE VIDEO!
Now, it should be a simple process, select the chunk, Edit->Timeline->Remove Frames
It seems so obvious that I don't mean to delete the END of the video, I mean to delete the highlighted section. What's the point of highlighting a section if you're just going to delete "X" amount of frames on the end? Shouldn't this feature be called, "Delete frames from end of video"?
I made a video in flash which somehow got corrupted, so the fla is no longer usable. Instead of remaking the video, I would like to just snip off the end of the .swf that I published and then probably just play a second .swf immediately after to end it (with replay buttons and a link to a particular website)
My question is: Is it possible for me to cut the .swf by about 3 seconds at the end?
I have downloaded a slideshow xml example to load any jpeg files but I want to be able to load a collection of .swf files as well.Here's example that I downloaded: http:[url].....The issue that I'm having is while clicking to next thumbnail, I can still the previous SWF file loaded collapsed in back of new SWF file.

My host (which is free for testing purposes) keeps adding data to the php file which causes errors. I need to know how I can delete this extra text before I put the data into an XML class so I do not get the error. I did a trace of the data and this is what comes up below. I need everything below the </data> tag to be removed but do not know how to do this.

I have decided to embed FLV movie files into my HTML page that I have rendered from After Effects.
I have noticed that there is a black 1px bottom border on my FLV movie on my webpage. The FLV fits perfect on the space I have left on my webpage and border is 0 everywhere. I have checked the After Effects original file and there is no accidental space or background errors that might be causing it.how to remove the black bottom border?
I've got twenty .swf files and respectively .as extensions of them. In each file there's my e-mail, but I don't have access to that e-mail anymore, so I want to edit each file to remove it. View 1 RepliesOne being ... at the moment when a FLVPlayback is imported onto the stage and a user clicks on the exit button before the video it has fully loaded onto the stage, the video keeps loading in the background. I want it to be completely removed and stop loading when the exit button is click... because at the moment it slows the users internet down and the sound also plays in the background when its been fully loaded... The video interface seem to be removed but not the whole thing.
It is also happening to me when I use addChild to load a external JPEG... if the user exits before it is fully loaded to the stage... it keeps loading in the background.[code]...

Im trying to get the grasp of classes and as3 and i got probably an easy question for someone with good as3 knowledge.Lets say i got a main.as and a class URLLoad.as that loads some external vars. In the URLLoad class i got a event.complete listener. So i know when the vars are finnished loading and everything works fine. But how do i know it has finnished loading the vars if i try to reach them from main.as file??? Whats the routine for doing this? Is it better to remove the event.complete listener to main.as file?

It's not too much of an issue as I have set the correct one again, which works fine most of the time, but not when I am editing the incorrect one and hit F11 - it attempts to run the project via this incorrect class. Is there any way to remove the "runnable" attribute from this file so that this doesn't happen?An example of how this looks in the package explorer is below (Application.as is the correct file, AbstractQuickDraggable.as is not):
