I'm making a website at the moment which will all be done in flash (currently 1000px wide x 450px height) - what i want is a background which is consume the entire width of the page regardless of what the users screen resolution is, im not sure if this is a html/css thing or a flash thing.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create a repeating tiled background. I've also attached the FLA (tiledBg issue.zip) so you can test it for yourself. The code works well, but it's acting weird when resizing the stage. It looks like new tiles appear on top of the existing one, thus darkening the screen. By me starting loop at 0, playing back 99 shouldnt that loop it endlessly? However it stops after first play.

View 2 RepliesI am trying to put a flash background on my website that will loop over and over.I created the file in after effects but understand that it is best to export to flash to keep file size down.I have tried exporting from after affects using F4L, FLV, and XFL and always seem to get a file size of 2-4 MB.My video is only 8 seconds long and I exported at half resolution so I am unsure why it is so largeWhen I import F4L and FLV to flash and then export as an SWF file, the file does not work on my website(nothing shows). I've seen a tutorial for changing the background inside of flash based on buttons to click. However, these colors were palettes and not of backgrounds such as jpeg. What I'd like to do is to create 3 buttons and place them on my flash website. These three buttons allow the user to click on them thus changing the background. So if you're visiting the about page and click one of these buttons, I don't want the user to go back to the home page after clicking.

1. I am creating a Flash banner to go at the top of my website that is going to animate the name for the site one letter at a time. I have this part of the banner completed as a movie symbol that I have added to my main timeline. What I was wonder is if it is possible to set a timer or some type of pause for how long I want it to wait before looping again? I dont want to stop the looping all together but would like to maybe make it pause for 5 minutes or so before starting animation again. Keep in mind it has to be done within the movie symbol becuase I have other animation going on the main timeline that will just continuously loop.
2. Is it possible to set a flash swf to the background of a html document? The reason I ask is again with my banner I am creating I have a menu bar that is about 3/4 of the ways down the height of banner. I want me primary animation to be able to move behind this menu bar. I realise I can make the menu straight in flash adding my links directly to it, but I would perfer to handle that in straight html or whatever if possible.
Anyone know how to make a flash SWF appear as if it's in the background when published on a page where other JAvaScript and HTML menus might be required to appear "over the top of" the SWF?
View 3 RepliesI have an HTML website with a flash header and dropdown menu.In the beginning, the flash dropdown menu would not show at all untili found the wmode=transparent trick.The menus are now showing properly except for one specific page wherethe text on the page show up OVER the dropdown menu. In all otherpages, the dropdown menu shows up on top of any text that may be inthere.There's nothing on that particular page jumping at me that would causethe problem. In fact, the page uses the same CSS file as the otherpages. I'm really clueless.I'm not sure if it's a flash problem or HTML/CSS problem.
The only difference i could think of was that the page was called froma combobox change event. But i switched the page called to anotherpage i know works with the menu and it was fine. So the problem doesnot come from the combobox calling the page, it really is the pageitself.Does anyone have a clue?Working page sample (sorry its in french)click on Nos Services. In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site. However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses. If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.

View 3 RepliesI can view it in my browser by going directly to the file however when it is embedded the photos will not load. The images it loads has to be in the same directory as the .swf file and as i stated it clearly works when going directly to the file but not once it has been embedded.
