Cannot Open SWF Anymore

I have installed CS5 recently and then deleted CS4, since doing so (or at least I think that's the cause), I cannot open SWF by a simple double click like I used to. Opening them in browser or in CS works fine but I still want to be able to open those SWF with a double click.
Tried using "open with", then Flash CS5, without success. Also went on Adobe's website to try redownloading the flash plugin but didn't let me download it as "browser already have flash plugin installed".
How did you re-established the double click to open a SWF?

Im very new to flash and a colleague provided me with perfectly functioning swf presentation. I opened it with flash to make some minor mods and now when i save the pause/play buttons he had put on the presentation no longer work no longer work.

I load icecast stream into Sound object, using some tricks to overcome memory leakage. Generally it works quite well, unless someone reloads either icecast or stream source program on the server. In that case flash player just mutes itself forever. I'm looking for some way to detect this case internally and reload the stream without refreshing web-page.My problem is caused by the fact that onComplete event for some reason doesn't trigger, maybe there's another event happening, but I just couldn't find any.One thing that I tried was noting down stream progress point and checking consequently for 200 times if it stays the same and if it did I was manually calling stream reload function.

I have a button which I want to be dynamic in it's use. The var currentQuestion get's updated within another function. I have traced this and that's not the problem. The problem lies within the fact that after i have pressed the button once it's not working anymore. So the buttons works the first time, but after clicking it (and so updating the currentMovieclip to "question01_mc") it doesn't work anymore.
This is not the complete code, but just the part that matters,

Ok, for my site i have a preloader that slides in, then it slides out once it's finished. I decided to change a couple things, now the same file with some unrelated changes is giving me syntax errors when publishing it. Heres some code:

does anyone noticed when using the latest flash player (10), all website thatuse preloading and is publihed with actionscript 2.0 is not working anymore. Only the onloadComplete or onLoadInit is triggerd, so preload animations are skiped. For example i made this website a while ago that worked fine with flash players up to verion 9.Now the preload percentage is not showing anywhere. I also tested other websites that i know off

I have 10 buttons for various pages on a website I am building. I am only dealing with the first 2 buttons so far: home and about (laborLaw). On my about page, I wanted to have buttons to navigate to another frame where the viewer can Read More Details. In order to get my button to work, I had to type about_mc. before the event listener of that button. Here's the code that worked.
about_mc.laborLaw1_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, laborLaw1);

So I am now able to navigate to frames from buttons inside the mc. My next task was to build a close button to navigate back to the about page from the "Read More Details" page on a 101. Here's the code I used on frame 101:

I'm using flash cs5.5 and today I opened my project to start working... just to find out that the project panel does not work. When I click the tab to expand it, flash hangs for a minute and then it works, but the panel is blank, empty. The odd thing, I saved the project as CS5 version to open it in the CS5 Flash, but CS5 it's broken too.
I tried opening Flash (both versions) without loading any project and the tab does not work either.

I just finished up my update for my adobe products, and one of the updates was going from Flex3 to flex 3.2. I rebuild my app using flex 3.2 and it worked fine in my browsers. But, II used to load my flexapp in a flash movie and published this movie to an EXE. What used to work isn't working anymore. In my flex project I use the popupmanager to popup custom dialogsscreens: they work in my browser, but they don't popup up anymore when I load the flex app in my flashmovie...

I have used a pop up window code several times before and now it doesn't seem to work. I've tried in several different movies now and when pressing the button it simply flashed the page and moves a little, but won't actually pop up to the page it's pointed to.Here's the code:

Has there been an update this weekend thats broke masking I have tried to gradient mask an object both by using a vector mask and a png mask. NONE OF THEM WORK! Last week it woeked - and nooene else here at my job can get it to work either.Gradient masks are just shows by a square. No way of of getting smooth edges (gradients on a masked object anymore).

I have a big problem : My gallery ( with xml) was working perfect until yesterday . I uploaded my files to my server to test them. This morning I reopened the fla to make modif and big surprise : only the big image appears but no thumbs anymore in the scroller. I tried to trace the xml nodes but thay are now undefined. WHY? Everything is in the same folder.Nothing changed. I turned everything upside down but nothing. Does a uploading can affect some configuration ? Are the xml modified modified after being uploaded ?

So I'm creating an AS3 doc with a lot of jpegs and pngs. I'm really new to flash and the last swf I made was 5.6mb, way too big from what I read. But I haven't been able to figure out how to avoid this...I can't decrease the images sizes anymore for quality's sake. Can I store the images externally so that only the ones needed for that scene load at that time?

So I am a photographer, and I wrote my own gallery using AS3 Anyway I do NOT use the Flash IDE for anything other than debugging and compiling and publishing. EVERYTHING is done on the fly in AS3.0 classes.
When I upgraded everything (Photoshop,InDesign, Illustrator,Dreamweaver, Flash etc... ) to CS5 and recompiled my AS3 code I got the following error. i was trying to make a movie clip visible (it starts invisible), than invisible again. It gets visible, but i could't make it turn invisible again! Same thing happened with buttonMode propertie. I applied both only for movieClips and buttons, have no idea what is happening.

i'm making a small "add news" movie for a site in actionscript. When I insert an image in my textField, I can only move the cursor with my keys and not with my mouse anymore. I put the image always in front. I also have to click one time in my textfield, otherwise my text appears under my image. When I click it aligns to the right.

Let say A is the main movie and B will be a external swf file that i'm going to load into A movie. The problems is that, some actionscript(AS) in my B movie is not working anymore after i load it into A movie. I believe that the AS in my B movie is not working anymore because it is refer to A as the _root instead of B movie as _root. This can be a common problem. So, i wonder what should i change in the B movie AS in order to make it work in A movie.
