I have flash cs4 and i want to change it to flash 8. Can i do that in the settings somewhere? Coz i can only code to flash 8. And, i know, many thinks that is better to learn flash cs4 instead but, for now, how do i change flash cs4 to flash 8?
View 3 RepliesIs there any way to change a context menu that already has been personalized. I have an small application that I purchased to learn with and also to save some time. When I right click the context menu appears with the other person's information in it. I want to change that information if it is possible to do so. I tried

Now the colors keep standing. The colors are pictures converted into MC and the works with attachmovie. But with what script can i change the collors so they will change and fit on the shoe? View 3 RepliesI am displaying a combo box in something of a WYSIWYG preview. I want the user to be able to click on the combo box and see the options inside, but I don't want them to be able to change the value. I tried using preventDefault() on the change event but it doesn't work. I don't want to disable it because I do want the user to be able to "look inside" the dropdown.
So I'm trying to block the change, but can't. My next resort is to change the selected index back to what it was before the change, Is there any way to do this within the scope of a ListEvent.CHANGE event listener?
Current Workaround is to basically re-assign the controls selected item the same way I am defining the selected item when I originally build it (a default selection). So a user sees their change then it immediately changes back to the default selection.
So basically I have a class which adds items and needs a drag and drop. I change the x value of the entire contianer class simply by this.x = something
By drag and drop all the items slide across the screen. When I trace the x value of the container class it has changed, but the x value of the items stayed the same (although their x value on the screen definitely changed).
How can i make it that i change 2 or more movie clips change color. At the moment i can only do one?

View 1 RepliesI am attempting to change the background of a pre-developed slide show a client sent over. In the attachment the original background is gray (called "back"). I want to change it to the background called "bluebg". It works (somewhat) when I import it to the same layer that the gray background is on and convert it to a movie clip, but it covers up the navigational buttons on the top right side of the movie. It appears that these pieces are a part of the background and not on their own layer, but they are clearly flash elements required to make the show work properly, so I am unable to replace the background with the blue and keep those navigational items. Can someone take a look and tell me what I could be doing wrong? Or better yet what I can do to achieve the feat of apply the new blue background?

View 2 RepliesSo I just found out the hard way that the path that Flash uses to load external content is based on the HTML it is embedded in, not the SWF itself. This is a problem for me because I have the HTML generated from a PHP file that is in a folder below the SWF. The PHP has other dependencies that would break if I moved it into the same folder as the SWF.So basically now my dev testing and web versions are separated by a folder.Is there a way to change the relative path Flash uses? Or am I going to have to hack things up?

I just threw this website together using a flash menu at the top and an iframe in the center to change the content. I know I could just re-do the whole site and make it work but I think that I am probably missing a really simple code fix in Flash to make Firefox load the pages in the iFrame. The website is www.greathousefarm.com and I am on a mac so I did it checking Safari and it worked perfect. Than my husband checked it in Firefox and it kept opening a new window instead of loading into the frame. [code]...

I imported a .psd file that I created with Photoshop CS4 into Flash CS4 and the colors did not transfer over correctly. The colors (specifically the green text coloring) is a lot lighter/paler than they were in photoshop. How do I import a .psd over to Flash without the colors I used in Photoshop. Attached are a .jpeg image of what the photoshop file looks like and the resulting .SWF file after importing the .psd file.

I can use one colour not a problem, but I will probably need 3 colours ie: shirt colour, collar colour, sleeve colour etc.
If I try to duplicate the script and change the instance and layer names but it makes it all go crazy.
Is there a way I can duplicate the scripts for each new section of colour or can I somehow tell it in the one script?
I am as new as a flash newbie can be and I was editing a template for a flash intro. My company wants to use a different soundtrack for the intro which would necessitate changing the timing of the intro. What I mean is that I want certain scenes to display slightly longer than they are now.

When I open through Flash the .fla file it shows me that there is one button copied 5 times.How do I change the name in one of the buttons in the movie, I want when I play the movie, to have a different name on the button, but I don't understand from where do I change the name, if all the buttons I have in the .fla file has the About me name, I suggest the name is the same because all the buttons does the same effect when you go over them.
