May 17, 2010Using AS3, how can I attach links to outbound websites? I have a button graphic dragged onto the timeline. It is meant to function much like a "hot spot". So, I would like to attach the script to the button so that it will link to another website when clicked upon. But where do I add the script in AS3, and what is that script to be? ~ For example, do I need to go into edit mode where I see the 4 states, or can I simply attach it to the main timeline? - I'm looking to do whatever's the simplest!
Also, the button is called myButton in my library...can I use that same button for everywhere I want to add an outbound link to different websites, or am I going to have to change the name for every different link? For example, myButton02, myButton03? I'm hoping to use the same graphic button, and hoping the timeline will understand and follow the script instead of being confused and all links wind up going to the same site.

Jan 19, 2011I've been doing Flash for couple of months and I love it. I can easily use a rectangle tool to draw a rectangle and do shape/motion tweening within seconds.
Lots of people are talking about HTML5 vs Flash nowadays and I took a look on HTML5 Canvas today. To my surprised, I see whole bunch of "code". It's so complicated, they need to make a lot of calls (fill, stroke, moveto, closepath etc...) to make a simple shape. And even dozens lines of code mixing with javascript to do a simple movement???
Am I missing something? It'll make animation 10x more complicated with HTML5 Canvas than Flash.

Feb 28, 2009I have been seeking for months to try to put my flash animations in myspace blog but I haven't succeeded in doing that. I have tried to put the code source of the html document but it doesn't work . When I saw the animations pre-maded in websites for myspace , it's exactly the same code as I have saw in the code source of my html page. Why it doesn't work? I have tried to convert to anothers format, to put them in youtube , but it wasn't very good.
I have tried a files hosting where I put swf files format and I put the links , but myspace doesn't accept this kind of links , they say that it brings spams. I have just think about it and I haven't done it yet. If I convert swf files into flv files and I put the correct video code , Will it works? I read that myspace doesn't accept the flash animations but it's not true because there are a lot of flash animations to put in that.

Jan 28, 2011I am very new to flash ads and we are on a new platform after a website redesign. I'm having trouble with flash display settings I'm guessing since the ad displays fine in IE, but not fine in Firefox and Chrome. Images to follow (for the curious it is a YWCA ad):

I know it's a pretty simple thing to do with Adobe Flash, but I'm kinda trying to get into the whole "HTML5 scene" so I thought I could try building it without using flash at all. I know I can resize the canvas to fit the window of the browser it's being viewed in, but can I also resize images, text and other HTML structures that I place inside the canvas? Nov 8, 2010Attached fla has two movie clip and one page with simple animation of the page. Now when the movie clip pressed the page changed. But what I want that the first page will go up and the second page will come from the bottom as if the first page disappears to the top and the second page arrived from the bottom. I want to use total five pages with five buttons. Please help me as I want to know how people made their flash websites in timeline rather loading different swf's. Please look into the fla and amend the stage setting.
