Setup: an online tv channel with "youtube" like clips and categories our own flash video player which can be embeded into other remote sites as2 flash player Goal: To track who's embeding my videos, at least with basic statistics per domain.
Since it's AS2, it's harder to do this. My ideea is that I can create a php page which should be opened each time the player loads on any website; than the flash player can do a "geturl" of the php file which has Google Analytics code or some other decent tracker.
The geturl command could contain a variable like the Video Title which already is included in the player; and this title would pass on with GET to the php file and setup a dynamic page title which can be tracked very well. Problem: how to i use the GETURL function without have user's browser open a new tab or window. Is there any hidden way to do it?
I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.
On our own website, it's easy to protect against direct links to our video content by grabbing a token through AJAX and verifying the token through PHP before the file download is started.
However I'm also researching how I could provide an embed feature, like YouTube or vimeo etc., without compromising this security feature.
The problem is that the embed code I want to provide should look something like <object>...<embed>...</embed></object> -- but I don't know how to grab and append the token to the filename. I mean, I guess I could attach a script that did some gnarly JNOP business, but that's too dirty.I'm using JW Player for the actual video container.
Long story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.

View 8 RepliesWe have a Flex application which is build against the 3.3 SDK. It has been in production for more than a year without any problems, till yesterday. We got a bug report yesterday that some content is invisible which prevents the user from completing an assignment. I looked into the problem and I have narrowed it down to Flash Player 11. Unfortunately it got me no closer to solving the problem.The part of the application that is giving problems is a separate .SWC which is loaded in a SWFLoader object. This is placed on a Canvas which in turn is shown to the user via the PopupManager.This is what it looks like when I view it in FireFox 10.0.2 with Flash Player 10,0,45,2 (click for image).
And this is what it looks like when I view it with Flash Player 11,1,102,62 in Chrome 17.0.963.56 (click for image)As you can see I am missing the checkboxes, two buttons and the checkpoint in the middle. The checkpoints drops in from the top of the screen and sometimes you can see parts of it. It looks like there is something invisible on top of this. In the Flash Player 11 version I am able to click on the checkboxes that are invisible and this does trigger the expected behavior so I know the mouse clicks are handles properly. Same goes for the buttons 'Vorige' (previous) and 'Volgende' (next), even though you can't see them I can still navigate between states.I have check if disabling the hard acceleration in Flash Player 11 made a difference but unfortunately it didn't. I also thought it could be the preloader that is blocking out part of the screen but the position seems all wrong and I am not having any problems with other external .SWC files that are presented to the user.
Does anyone know whether or not a debug player for FP 10.1 has been released? The player that is being pushed right now seems to be the 'release'-style beta player.
I checked in the usual locations, like: [URL]..and the Flex SDK nightly source /player/ directory, but those are both still on 10.0.x.y.
I guess they don't always release the debug players immediately with new beta players, but it'd be nice if someone could confirm either way.
hide the video content of the YouTube player (only statusbar (where is play button etc.) is visible) ? Or maybe do you know other (flash) players that have the ability to stream the YouTube movies ?

View 2 RepliesI have a ActiveX control hosting a flash-player which is in turn running a flash file trying to access data from a web-address.
In an old Windows Application version of my application everything works fine and the flash file is able to access the web-content.
However, in a newer Console Appliction version of the application it can no longer access the web-content.
Is there some kind of difference between a Windows Application and a Console application in terms of security/permissions that might affect an ActiveX hosted flash-player?
Not sure how to describe this issue, but I only get it in Firefox and not any other browser. When clicking around, the page sometimes blows up with the attached pic. Sometimes it has even more characters than that, and you can see things like LAME encoder referenced. Anyone know what the deal is? All site caching is disabled. I am no pro with flash so I don't know what is causing this. I am using the Boutell XSPF player due to its support of Autoresume, if that helps. I added it to the list of players, and have the flash embed code in a block. I am achieving this using the Drupal Audio module and submodules supporting it.

In full screen, right clicks would have custom behavior attached.I saw one in Visual c++. As per Chris's I checked the link. I tried adding these lines of code:

I have built my personal webpage in Flash CS3/AS3. I did some updates today, changed some pictures and stuff. Now when I upload and replace the previous *.swf on the server, and try to load my webpage my browser displays the folowing message:
Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player. I tried exporting with Flas Player 8, and checked it using different bowsers too (curenntly I use the latest version of Firefox), but I get the same error when trying to relode my site. I have no more ideas what to do.
I am a experiencing an issue with loading of the haeader(flash) on the site I am currently working. Each browser behaves in a similar manner while not displaying flash animated header. I tried to save it as CS3, as CS4 alows me to do so and even that does not work.Details: I am using Dreamvewaver CS4 and Flash CS4 to build this site, could there be some type of an issue with DW4?
View 1 RepliesI have a Flash Player ActiveX control embedded in a .NET WinForms application and am trying to load a SWF into the FP control over an HTTPS url. In development I'm using a self-signed certificate and it seems that in this scenario I can't get FP to accept the certificate and allow the HTTPS communications.When I try to load the swf over https directly, I don't see the swf and when I right-click on the control I see "Movie not loaded". I can load the swf over http and then try to make Flash Remoting calls over https. I don't expect this to work by default but I added a crossdomain.xml file to allow insecure communications. The crossdomain.xml file is in the root of the server but is not loaded. I added an explicit call to loadPolicyFile with the full https url and the crossdomain.xml file is still not loaded. The local IIS logs don't show any request for the file at all, nothing in the HTTPERR file, and Flash's policyfiles.txt log says URl...If I host the swf in a browser, then the browser prompts to accept the certificate and everything works fine. I've accepted the certificate in IE and Firefox.I also tried calling DisableLocalSecurity() on the FP ActiveX control but it had no effect. I didn't really expect it to since I'm not actually loading the swf locally, it's loaded from a url.Can anyone confirm if the self-signed cert really is the problem? Is there a way to get FP to accept the certificate? Any way to bypass the http/https restriction (this is a locally installed app so I can change any local config files we need)?

In the demo version of FMS 3.5 for interactive broadcasting stream audio and video can be copied by means of such programs as Comtasia. This may not like the content holders. Perhaps there are some instruments of protection.

2) They don't show up on Macs.
3) They don't show up right when Google crawls it. It just looks like a picture or something embedded. There's no text, so Google has no clue what you're talking about.
4) You can't get FLA files from the "View Page Source" or even the FTP, you have to ask your client to give you those files. Chances are, especially with my luck, he doesn't have them.
So. Why would someone use Flash to build a website? Especially when HTML 5, CSS3, JQuery and the like can do a similar job? I know I'm pretty new at the more complex languages, but if someone could enlighten me as to why Flash is just as useful, if not moreso, than an HTML based site?

Even what ever size it is it uses all the corners and scales the graphics. But the great thing about this is that the menu is not scaled but kept in the same size.
Was just wondering how do these sites (and many other softwares that generate flash movies from audio clips,images , docs) work ? how do they compile the media files(audio/image/vid) into a flv movie on the server ? Can the same be done using some open source tech.

Most of them shows video in full size . I downloaded the video using FF plugin.Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..

View 3 Repliesi stumbled accross the following website: URL...As you can see, the site is driven using a hd video. the user can interact with the site by performing little actions with the mouse. I guess this is simply accomplished by seeking through the video using the mousemovements as offset.What i would like to know is, how are videos like this encoded ? How big is the video behind a site like this ? Is the HD content streamed from the server ? What compression would you recommend for similar quality ? Do you guys know a tutorial/article that deals with constructing "video driven" websites like the one above ?
