Data Integration :: Viewing Motion JPEG (MJPEG) Streams Directly From IP / Network Cameras
Jul 19, 2006
I'm looking to build an app for viewing motion JPEG (MJPEG) streams directly from IP/Network cameras. Does anyone know where I can find useful information on this or even if it's possible at all?
I am building an application in flash that speaks to a database using PHP. I know you can remove rows from a database in PHP using a DELETE in the SQL statement. Does anyone know how to delete a file like a jpeg?, I would press a button in flash it would then call some PHP script, does anyone know the PHP to remove a file?
I'm designing a website aiming to provide visual coverage of surfing locations across the UK through the use of webcam images. Each of the images themselves will be retrieved externally, with permission, from various hotels over-looking these locations.I have spoken to someone who has completed a similar project,a widget which retrieves and displays webcam images, which can be viewed here:
I would like to create a Word Document and import that word document into Flash. I'm not talking about data integration from an outside file, but literally taking text from a text/word document and Flash create the timelines and tweens based on paragraph breaks, etc. Is there a component available that will do this. I have foreign Flash developers that don't understand English very well, and we have 6 to 10 minute movies that are basically text. This would increase our production significantly.
An image, like a jpeg, has a bunch of metadata stored in it.The "IPTC Core" metadata usually includes the photographers name, address, title, description, etc.Is there any way to access this information using Flash so that, say, captions for images in a flash gallery could be generated automatically?
Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 or later supports recording of streams using the H.264 codec, directly on the server. Archive high-quality live streams so you can quickly deploy the content on demand after your live event is over, and use the free F4V flattener utility to prepare your file for video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5."
there is no problem to record the stream in flv format but i don't find a way to record using h.264 compression
I am facing a strange issue with a pair of FMIS servers set up with Multipoint Publishing. Configuration is as follows: Encoder >>>> FMIS1 >>>> FMIS2
When freshly started, I am able to view live streams from both servers, however, periodically, FMIS2 unpublishes the streams as seen in the log below. When this happens lives streams are accessible from FMIS1 but not FMIS2. In order to resume live streams on FMIS2, FMIS1 must be restarted.

I'm creating a simple flash navigation using some transparent .gifs. At present i import them then make them instances and use them internally in flash from there... But, is it possible to link the instance to an external gif file on the server so that the image can be change by simply changing the gif file/s instead of having to go back into flash??
I realise it would be easier to just update by importing the new images into flash but it's a client request and as they say 'the customer is always difficult'
I'm having same inconvenience while integrating YuMe Ads Module in my project. YuMe's documentation is really bad & pretty confusing. Here Now I have done some manipulations with code in AS2 based player.
I was trying to run it locally while connected to internet so it may load ads from the online source defined. But it does not load anything. I have also made the controls btns hidden, as i dont need them. I dont know if I just need to upload these files on web server and test it online to get it working. Not Sure.
I have a video player that is currently using XML for its video library which is all fine and dandy. Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Is there a way to do this without using FMS? If so does anyone have ideas where I can find the information for it.
I have just downloaded the tutorial on Flash Forms and Database Integration and I want to display the enterend first and last name from the just entered entry in ASP in a SWF and then view all entries in database on the SWF. I actually know ASP but all my attempts in doing this have failed.
if I load data into a swf file using URLLoader (such as an XML file of a CSV file from another website), everything works fine until I actually upload it to the internet using my cheap, wimpy, webhosting service. At which point none of the data is transferred. Is there possibly anything about security sandboxes that completely eludes me, or is this even an issue that deals with security sandboxes?
I want to add tracking to our Flash-based media player so that we can provide analytics that show what sections of videos are being watched (at the moment, we just register a view when a video starts playing)
For example, if a viewer watches the first 30 seconds of a video and then clicks away to something else, we want the data to reflect that. Likewise, if someone watches the first 10 seconds, then scrubs the timeline to the last minute of the video and watches that, we want to register viewing on the parts watched and not the middle section.
My first thought was to collect up the viewing data in the player and send it all to the server at the end of a viewing session. Unfortunately, Flash does not seem to have an event that you can hook into when a viewer clicks away from the page the movie is on (probably a good thing - it would be open to abuse)
So, it looks like we're going to have to make regular requests to the server as the video is playing. This is obviously going to lead to a high volume of requests when there are large numbers of simultaneous viewers.
The simple approach of dumping all these 'heartbeat' events from clients to a database feels like it will quickly become unmanageable so I'm wondering whether I should be taking an approach where viewing sessions are cached in memory and flushed to database when they become inactive (based on a timeout). That way, the data could be stored as time spans rather than individual heartbeats.
I'd like to create one empty Flash movie that is essentially a placeholder for externally loaded content I can change through XML. This content would just be able to randomly load 1 of 3 photos, with a button linking to a website within each of the photos on page load. If the user refreshes the page, a new photo with it's link would appear, but I understand since it's random, having 3 images the same image is likely to reappear, but I can always add additional photos and links.
Does anyone know of a tutorial that might lead me on the correct path to create this? I've found some tuts, but they've been different than my need.
We want to be able to upload over 100+ files (if needed) to a server along with desc + keywords. I see that Flash 8 has the neccessary tools to handle file uploading, but my question is, can we have it act as a Stand alone FTP program so that we can utilize the fastest user upload, or will we be confined to the settings in the server INI settings.IE MAX_UPLOAD_TIME,MAX_FILESIZE, etc. If possible we want to avoid using the HTTP upload as it is noticeably slower. So if we can use flash to utilize user BW to upload, then that would be ideal.
One application JEE / Flex 4 running on a tomcat, inside my Flex layer I have a iFrame passing a url to an ip of my internal network (http:url....) which is another application running within an industrial PLC.When access this app from within my internal network works fine, but when I try to access this iFrame to an external network in my home for example have a timeout error onhttp:[url].........
I believe this error occurs because the flex client is trying to run this url as I was in a internal network. Is there any way to run this url from an external network?
is it possible to load MJPEG streaming into a flash file?I tried the loadmovie, loadmovienum function and nothing - they only carry SWF or JPG! Unfortunately, I can't convert this stream to those formats because it is a stream in real time from a IP camera!
I could even use an intermediary to make this conversion on-the-fly (with ffmpeg for example) but the computer resources it consumes is absurd ... And considering a lot of cameras, it does not offset the cost!
Many times, each day, a notice this error in the event log :
[Code]....
each time after this error, the netconnection between the publisher and the server close. I have some log in my app who check the connectivity between the publisher and the server:
[Code]....
I just want to confirm if it's the real issue of this problem or if other thing can provide this result and how can I prevent the deconnection of the publisher if this append again?
I have a cs3(AS3) datagrid component and I'm tracking which row the user has selected by using ListEvent.ITEM_CLICK to listen for a selection and then event.rowIndex in the handler function and using this index no to select data from the array which was used with the dataProvider. The problem is this. If the user re-sorts the rows using the column headers, this resets the rowIndex (ie the first entry is always row 0) and so this no longer relates back to my array. Is there a way to directly access some or all of the data in the row the user selects?
I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]
How to store the data text in Access databases using flash form and to search into the database. It is possible to work without server because I don't want to put this flash file on the net. how to make databases and to connect with flash and to have possibility to search the database, but to work database in the local computer.
Im trying to use dynamic SQL tables on my PHP server so I need to pass the table name to the PHP script. I don't understand why the Data Management system that sets up CRUD won't allow this extra parameter. It says it can only have one input: item. I can get all records, but when I try to create, update, or delete I get an error.
Or is there another way I can pass the tablename variable to the php file before I call any functions?
Im new to placing external data into Flash. I just got CS3 and Im trying to use Flash to dynamically load XML data via a FlashVars call in the HTML.
The problem is I have followed the very straight forward AS2 Help files for using FlashVars and URL variables.I have placed the code directly from the Help file into the Html between <noscript> <noscript>and i keep getting undefined.I have tried saving the file as flash 8 and i am publish flash 8.
Is it possible to read/write data to and from Access with Flash in a offline format? I need to create a stand alone system that users can log into and pull information from - but it will not be networked or have any sort of internet connection.
I'm trying to read some data in from a sql source, some of which contains double quotes embedded in the text. I know I can strip the doublequotes, but don't want to go that route if I can avoid it. I've tried replacing to double quotes with hex codes before passing the text via parameter to my flash file, but the text string always cuts off at the hex code, the same as if the double quote were present in the string. For example:This is a "text" stringreplace double quotes with hex: This is a x22textx22 stringesults when read into flash: This is a <remainder is dropped>Yet if I type the same text string in a variable in flash, the string displays the double quotes properly:
i have a problem regarding the integration between flash and ASP file i have an ASP file that gets a record set from the database i don't know how to send this record set to flash and place it in a data grid
I will be creating a program to use for data entry. I'll be studying zebras in kenya and I won't have the internet there as I'm recording the data. I'd like to be able to send the data I generate in flash to an external text file. I understand I need some sort of script to do that, but is this something I can run just on my machine? (I'll probably make the data into xml format).
I'm having trouble retrieving the value of a multi-select list component. It always traces the last value selected, but I need to trace all values to parse the data.
