I'm using VideoJs to handle my HTML5 video needs, using a single M4V. I needed a playlist, and I'm able to change it's source easily using JS (in my case, jQuery). However, I'm not able to pass these changes along to the flash fallback (which is achieved via an object including flowplayer). How one might be able to dynamically change flowplayer's flashvars, and reload the object?

i am trying to modify during runtime an image in my application, this image is located inside assets folder, so thats why i dissable -use-network=false flag, then i call something like this:img.source="../assets/pict.png";but it's not working.

in my mxml file I have images declared like this:

and at some event I do:
picture1.source = "assets/bigpicture2.png";
However this results in flex removing the picture, and when it has loaded it will show it again.
How can I make the mx:image make so that it will continue to show the image until the new image has been loaded?
Say I have "Symbol 1" in FLA document "DocOne". I drag this symbol from DocOne's library into "DocTwo"'s library. Now, in DocTwo's library, the properties for Symbol 1 show that the source is "DocOne". I can use the symbol update functionality to update it from DocOne. Is there a way to sever this linkage so that Symbol 1 in DocTwo no longer considers Symbol 1 from DocOne to be its source? So that, for example, if I drag it over from DocTwo to DocThree, Symbol 1 in DocThree, its source in DocThree will be DocTwo and not DocOne?

View 1 RepliesBasically I have media being parsed and played by reference of an XML document using AS3. These media files are gonna be seperated into seperate XML files then what I was planning was to just dynamically change which XML file is being referenced. Problem is, the code only fires once on frame 2 and I can't seem to figure out how to switch out the XML file for a different one upon an event trigger. "new URLRequest [URL]" isn't working...do I need to reload a whole other string of code to change to a different XML document?

View 9 RepliesI'm creating a website that requires full flash. Within the file structure of a main swf there are other swfs being loaded into it (ie different pages). I need to be able to scroll the content of these swfs in the browser window.So say that the main swf is 800 x 600px and I load the initial page which is 800 x 500 px. This obviously doesn't need to be scrolled when viewed in the internet broswer. However, when the user clicks to go to another page it might load a page of 800 x 1300 px which is larger than the first and so needs to be scrolled in the internet browser. The main swf in which these pages are loaded into is only 800 x 600 (and even if the HTML dimensions - when put on a webpage - are set to 100%, the swf being loaded into the main swf doesn't have an impact on the size of the main swf, of which the browser goes by for scrolling.
I could of course just set the size of the main swf to the height of the largest page and have the browser scroll a whole lot of nothing when a smaller page is loaded, but aesthetically its not too great. And since I don't want the entire page to reload when a user clicks to go to another page I've got a problem on my handsI was thinking of using a script that would dynamically change the html object properties (height value) to the height of the page the user has clicked to go to.

Using SWFObject (google it) and a SWF Controller (like FlashMediaPlayback.swf).It's very important to understand that the iPad has limitations with video size. So the MP4 file can't be bigger than 720p and 160kbps for audio.

I found this awesome example: [URL], or an HTML5 WebSocket echo server in Jetty, and I love it's simplicity. However, the web app I am developing will require a bit more cross-browser compatibility, so I tried to use: [URL] as a Flash fallback. The problem: I need to serve some XML file on port 843 for Flash. Now I am new to both Flash and Jetty, and would like to figure out how to accomplish this. I have used HTML5 WebSockets before in PHP, Python, and Ruby, and I have the echo server working perfectly on my Mac, but now I need to configure Jetty to send the file.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to have a flash video, with fallback to the html5 video element for those browsers which don't support flash, such as iPhone. I'd also like to have valid html5. The issue I see is that in html5, object doesn't support the classid attribute anymore, but this would be required for a user to get flash if they don't have it but want it.
It seems my options are to accept invalid html5 but not have the flash work properly, or have the classid and not have valid html5.
I'm trying to add mediaelement.js to my site to present a single player for any MP3 link on a particular page. The design is working fine for IE 9 and Chrome 11 (which have HTML5 MP3 support), but it has an issue with the flash fallback on Opera 11 and FireFox 4. Clicking any MP3 link on the page uses the .setSrc() method of media element player to change the source of the player, but in Opera and FF, the first time this method is called, it returns error "this.media.setSrc is not a function". Any call to the function after that works fine.
Another issue is after the element containing the player is hidden "display:none" and then displayed again, calling the .pause() function will produce error "this.pluginApi.pauseMedia is not a function". After that error is thrown, subsequent calls work fine until the element is hidden and displayed again.

Creating a non-interactive status display: I want to have theflash display reflect data in a server-based XML-file. So far thisis easy. But I want the display to change everytime the XML filechanges-- in order to reflect status changes. I've used anXMLConnector and specified it and the trigger in the first frame.The Flash code catches and shows the XML values initially . Butwhen I edit the XML file, the new values are never picked up byFlash- its almost as though the values are cached. How do I getFlash to regularly be updated from a changing XML file? I've alsotried putting the trigger in a loop- but that doesn't workeither.

a movie clip symbol is designed and subclassed in Flash, but get instanced and addChild-ed in AS3. It works well as long as I don't change it's width/height property (scaling works too), but if i do, it disappears

However, if shockwave flash turned off in Firefox, it won't fallback into image and show bunch of characters instead looking like "CWS..." All other browsers fallback to the image. I verified that we serve application/x-shockwave-flash MIME type on our server.

In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

View 3 RepliesI am doing one completely dynamic interface which is control by an admin module. what i want to do is to control the stage size by this admin module.When i press submit in the admin module it will generate one xml file which is connected to the flash flie, and what ever the size is mention in that xml that has to reflect in that flash file. I don't want any supporting file only one swf. I don't know whether it is possible to adjust the stage size dynamically on fly.
