I have Buttons which I have rotated vertically within a Canvas, that is working fine. The problem occurs, when the user resizes the window to a small size a vertical scroll bar appears, I would rather have each button squashed upto a smaller size.
<mx:Canvas xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="40" maxWidth="40" xmlns:myComponents="myComponents.*"
horizontalScrollPolicy="off"
[code].....
I am working on image and i like to scale or resize the image by dragging and resize option.same working as "free transform tool" in flash (design part); i need same functionality in application.
View 7 RepliesI'm having a bit of a problem here. As per the title, my flash swf file works fine when tested from the IDE, but when I publish it and open it through the browser, the stage doesn't seem to resize along with the window.I post below a bare-bones example. The "back" movie clip should resize, only it remains at the starting dimensions
Code:
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.display.MovieClip;
[code].....
I'm having a little issue with the resize event and resize effect of a VBox.
I have something like this:
<mx:VBox id="container"
backgroundColor="0xFFFFFF"
backgroundAlpha=".9"
paddingTop="15"
paddingLeft="15"
[Code]...
I have a main movie here that loads in an external swf through a container mc. everything is aligned and positioned to where it should be, and they are also set to that value onresize. the problem is, when my swf is loaded in, it works fine and is in the right position, same when you resize it. BUT, if you resize the window before the swf is loaded, it misaligns, until you resize!!
View 2 RepliesI have a datagrid that occupies 100% of browser screen. I want the grid to automatically resize when the browser is resized to small or full screen.
View 1 RepliesI've got a large bitmap (1920 x1306) that my client wants as a bg image, scaled to the swf size on load (930 x 575); but that can "grow" up to its original size if/when a user expands the browser window. All the rest of clips in the display list are to remain in place (except for a copyright clip, which they want to always be 14 pix above the bottom of the browser frame. I've tried loading the bitmap dynamically at full size and then using scaleX,scaleY to set it's initial smaller (930x575) size, and I've tried just setting the height/width of the dynamically loaded image using the math of scaleX,ScaleY just in case the scaleX "transformed" the bitmap so that it couldn't return to its original size. Both make the bitmap the right size. But the resize function below did nothing to it, (or the copyright.y.) THEN I tried just putting the bitmap into the display list (both sizing methods work here, too). But even as an original member of the compiled display list, the resize event is still not reaching the target. Everything I've seen on the web says this should work - but...no luck.
Here's the AS3 code in the 1st frame of my swf:
import flash.display.Stage;
import flash.display.StageAlign;
import flash.display.StageScaleMode;

i am creating flex 3 component when i re size the window i need to re size the labels and text.how to do this?
View 1 RepliesIf you include a flash file via:

tried to load a swf(text.swf) inside swf(video.swf).In my (text.swf)i passed some text.while i resize the (text.swf),the text inside the (text.swf) is Changed.Without Changing the Content how can i resize the (text.swf)?Actually my Size of text.swf is 400*44px.If i run alone text.swf size is small,But when i added to (video.swf)the size of text.chat very large.So only i resize the text.swf,But content inside the ?(text.swf)also changedcoding
_loader.load(new URLRequest("text.swf"));
_loader.x=(((_stage.stageHeight)/100)*0.1);
_loader.y=(((_stage.stageWidth)/100)*49);

I'm sure what I'm asking is very simple, but my action script knowledge is too basic to figure this out.I want to have a small thumbnail/button like 80 by 42 in my webpage, and I want my flash movie to re-size by 800 by 420, when clicked. I made a very simple thing by creating a button on the first frame, and having my full-size content starting from the second frame. By having it windowless, it looks like it's working fine. But since, my whole flash is 800 by 420, it will ruin my layout when I embed in HTML.

View 1 RepliesI'm pretty new to Flash but working it out. Just one question: how does one make it so the Flash animation automatically resizes depending on the resolution of the user's screen? I made a site with a Flash video that looks perfect on my screen, but when my friend with a different resolution goes to it, evertyhing is out of whack..

View 1 RepliesI created a game but I made the game a little too big. It would be alot of hard work to shrink all the objects in the game and resize the stage using the properties. I notice that in debug mode the whole screen can shrink when you adjust the window. Is there some code I can use to this on it's own? and will it be costly on performance ?
View 2 RepliesSo I've noticed Windows 7 has a disturbing tendency to prevent you from dragging the title bar of windows off the top of the screen. If you try - in this case, using an air app with a draggable area at the bottom of the window, allowing you to push the top of the window up past the screen - it just kicks the window back down far enough that the title bar is at the top of what it considers the 'visible area.'
One solution would be to resize the app window as it moves, so that the title bar is always where windows wants it. How would you resize the window while you're dragging it, though? Would you do it like this?
dragHitArea.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, function(e:MouseEvent):void{
stage.nativeWindow.height += 50;
stage.nativeWindow.startMove();
stage.nativeWindow.height -= 50;
});
see what's going on there? When I click, I'm doing startMove(), which is hooking into the OS' function for dragging a window around. I'm also increasing and decreasing the height of the window by 50 pixels - which should give me no net increase, right?
Wrong - the first '.height +=' gets executed, but the '.height -=' after the .startMove() never runs.
I noticed this full flash site and wonderring[URL].. How can I apply the resize method like the way they did?
Any examples might help me a lot. I have one main.swf and page.swf which loads within main.swf. My page.swf contains thumbnail images, and it's already position in middle of stage.
When handleResizeObjectOnStage is triggered, it's start to center again on stage. But it's not the same center applied of page.swf. I want to be able to do resize like the example I have posted.

I have a complicated problem with a couple of SWFLoaders.I have an application that loads a swf with a SWFLoader. The loaded swf loads another swf (just a compiled fla). I am adding all my resize and position logic in my loaded swf and it works good on event resize, but when I'm trying to run the same code in my swfs applicationComplete it fails. The same code on startup works great if I run my swf as a standanlone, but for some reason the scale is different when I load it into my application.[code]swfLoader is my loaded swf's swfloader that loads my compiled fla. That is what I need to resize and position to the center. The next numbers are width and height. FlexLoader is the swfLoaders loader (or content if you will). The numbers are width, height, scaleX and scaleY.As you can see the size is the same (this is also the same for the loaded swfs application), but the scale is different. Both scales are calculated from with 1280 and height 720 wich is my compiled fla's size.The only reason why I'm messing around with scale at all is that I can't find the accurate width of my compiled fla to center it (application.width - loadedSwf.width / 2)The part I'm not getting is why the scales are different? What part am I missing?
View 1 RepliesWhat I want to accomplish is to resize an external SWF so that it fits into the display object that is presented as a container on the stage. For now it show up outside of the container.
Important: I do not want an external SWF to occupy the whole stage; I have a special place (that container) for it on the stage.
I've just an SWF object to display the users webcam, however it won't let me make the webcam smaller than 320 x 240. Is this the lowest size I can go?
Just for any reference if needed:
import flash.media.Camera;
import flash.media.Video;
var camera:Camera = Camera.getCamera();

how to do stage resize in flash
View 13 RepliesI'm also completely new to flash and Actionscript 3 programming. I got Flash CS4 two days ago and i've already started work on a website by following various on line tutorials and I'm beginning to pick it up.One thing that I haven't been able to work out is how to make my site centre in the browser. My website consists of a 1000px by 700px stage. However it is simply white space for the right and left 150px in leaving the actual content in a rectangle in the middle, 400x700. Now when I test my movie in CS4 it renders perfectly in the centre of the screen with no issue. However when uploaded to my domain, it is always not central
View 1 RepliesI've seen this in a few sites and I would like to know how they do it. [URL]
View 5 Repliesi know.... this is probably one of the most ridiculous questions, and is probably RIGHT in front of my face, or should be self explanitory, but since i'm new at this and i could really care less if someone calls me an idiot, i'm going to ask...how do you resize your flash file to fit a small/GIANT animation etc?
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to create a scroll bar almost exactly the same as the one on this site [url].. where it only appears if the window isn't wide enough and also resizes when you resize the window. i've googled around trying to find examples of how to do it / tutorials but been unsuccessful!
View 3 RepliesThere is a flash with stage size 800 x 600. I need to add a button on the flash. When the user clicks the button one time, it will resize to be 600 x 450 and all MC, texstbox, button insides the flash would be resized on scale.
When the user clicks the button 2nd time, it will resize to be 400 x 300 and all components resize on scale as well.
When the user clicks the button 3rd time, it will resize to 800 x 600 again.
Is there any AS3 source code for it?
