Flash - Block / Prevent Loaded SWF From Accessing Loader Stage

Sep 29, 2011

I have two SWFs: a Loader SWF, and a Loaded SWF. I need to add the Loaded SWF to the display hierarchy, but I don't want to give it free access to the stage. It may, for instance, attempt to change the scaleMode, and I don't want that to happen. What are some good methods for restricting loaded content's access to the stage? I may, for instance, want to allow it to access the stageWidth and stageHeight, but not the scaleMode or align.

Additional Constraints. I can't change anything about the Loaded SWF. Both SWFs are in the local-with-file-system sandbox. These SWFs are both Flash Player 10, ActionScript 3, made in Flash Professional. Not AIR, not Flex. I'd love to be able to implement a proxy class or a getter to somehow intercept calls to the stage, but I don't believe there is any way to.

I don't believe, for example, that you can subclass the Stage class and use that subclass in place of the normal Stage object referenced by the stage property in all MovieClips. The stage property is read-only, so it can't be cross-scripted by the Loader to point to something different.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Prevent Loaded Swf File From Accessing Local Network Files

Nov 2, 2009

I am creating a web page that allows users to upload their own swf files to my web page, which are then used by the main web page as components. This creates a security issue though because I don't want the uploaded swf files to access other files on the server.

when the main webpage starts, it loads whatever third party swf files the user specifies. Is there a way for my main web page to change the security settings of the loaded swf so that the loaded swf is treated like it was loaded from another domain? Or is there another way I can provent these uploaded swfs from accessing local files on the server.

ActionScript 3.0 :: External SWF Loaded Accessing Loader Class?

Feb 2, 2010

I have a Main.fla (with Main.as as document class) that calls the external SWF (which has its own document class too)

ActionScript Code:
function startLoad() {
mLoader = new Loader();

[Code]....

Another question. Is it possible to do some kind of listener? Example, I call this external swf, and if the user press a button inside this external swf, this button triggers the listener on the Main.as? Something like running an external mini game, and wait for the results/hiscore.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Accessing Stage Items, Through A SWF File Which Is Loaded Inside The Stage

May 14, 2011

- I have A.fla.

-  A.fla includes buttons, movie clips and also B.swf is loaded in A.fla using a LOADER

- i want to access elements in A.fla, from the actionscript codes inside B.fla to modify those movie clips and buttons based on actions going on in B.swf

for instance, lets say there is a button X in A.fla, and there is a button Y in B.fla,  B.swf is loaded into A.fla, and I want the button Y to erase button X when clicked.

general question:  accessing elements in a stage, through a SWF file loaded into that stage.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Accessing Stage Of Externally Loaded Swf?

Jul 22, 2009

I am loading an SWF created in Flash CS4, using the 3d translation tool.The SWF is being loaded into an application being build in as3 in flex builder 3.I can manage to load the movie however the stage has disappeared. All of the objects that exceed the boundaries of the (banner) remain visible instead of being cropped by the stageI attempted to mask the swf before publishing which did not work, and I attempted to programmatically assign a mask once it was imported which also did not work.None of these options threw errors, in most cases they either had no effect whatsoever or the movie simply disappeareI've read numerous posts on this and the answers always seem to be vague.Based on my research I need to access the stage properties of the SWF being loaded, but am unsure how to go about it.Do I need to compile the movie, export a swc and add it to the build path for the project?Do I HAVE to use a document class for the SWF I want to load in order to access it?Do I need to add anything else to the source or build path for the project in Flex Builder?

Flash :: Accessing A Symbol That Is Already On Stage Through As3

Jan 4, 2012

I have several symbols in the library (using Flash CS5), and all of these instances have a custom base class set with a method (lets say x()). I have the symbols already positioned on the stage using the IDE, and I wanted to access them through as3 and run the method. I understand that you can instantiate a new object of an item in the library, but how would I access the object that are on the stage already?

var objectList:Array = new Array();
objectList.push(InstanceName1);
objectList.push(InstanceName2);
objectList.push(InstanceName3);
objectList[0].x(); //trying to run the method on the existing Symbol

However, flash returns an error saying that the object does not have method x(). Also looking through the debugger, it doesn't seem like the item pushed is an instance of the base class, rather it says (prototype). This works of course if I were to create a new instance of each, but I would rather access the ones that are on the stage already.

Flash - Auto-resize Of Loader And Loaded SWF?

Jun 10, 2011

is there a way to set the loaded SWF's height and width to always use 100% of the Loader's height and width? pretty much like when you're embedding a swf to an HTML page... I know that you can do this by setting the width and height of the Loader on every stage resize, but is there another way wherein you can just specify height and width is 100% and then loaded SWF will automatically resize according to stage and Loader's current dimensions?

try loaded a SWF file which has coordinates based listeners and it seems that the loaded SWF doesn't reposition its listeners correctly even if the stage is already resized... take this swf for example [URL] i tried using an SWFLoader in flex which scales the content and also a normal AS3 flash.display.Loader and it seems that both fails to reposition the listeners correctly.

Flash :: Accessing Uza's Global Object From A Loaded External Swf?

Mar 4, 2010

I am using the 1.2 version of Uza's Global singleton (http://www.uza.lt/codex/as3-global-object/). The container swf stores some data and a link to a function in the "global" object.

Then another swf is loaded inside the container, it gets it's global instance with Global.getInstance();, and i suppose i can access the data and function stored in global by the container swf.

This works perfectly on localhost served by a webserver, but when i put the files on my external production server the loaded swf's global appears to not have anything stored by the container.

Flash - Accessing A Button Inside A Loaded Swf File?

Dec 28, 2011

I am trying to access a button inside an external swf file that I loaded. Problem is every time I try to access this button I get an error saying that it's null!

Here is my code:

public class DocumentClass extends Sprite
{
public var loader:Loader;
public var swfFile:URLRequest;

[Code].....

Now this should work, code-wise I think its correct. The problem is that loader cant find the required button. There is indeed a button in the loaded movieClip with an instance name of "button", I double checked that.

[URL] basically i was just a layer too high and this is why i couldn't access anything..

Flash :: Unloading Swfs Loaded With Loader::load()?

Jan 23, 2010

I'm using Loader::load() successfully to load swfs into my main swf and then I add them as a child of a Sprite. When other events occur I want to remove the swfs as needed. I have looked at unload() and at removeChildAt() without success.

I only added the addChild() call to try to pin down the loaded instance so I could remove it. The loading works fine without the addChild();

I have also tried publishing to player v.10 and using myLoader.unloadAndStop(); but this has no effect either;

The following demo code shows my problem. I see one child added and one removed but intro.swf is still playing away.

import flash.display.Loader;

Flash :: Loaded SWF (using Loader) Event Listeners Sometimes Fails

Jun 9, 2011

i made a SWF which contains a loader which loads any SWF file passed to it... the problem I'm encountering is that for some SWFs, some event listeners doesn't fire anymore... my own SWF file (which contains the loader) doesn't really have any other element except for the Loader object and so I cannot understand what seems to be preventing the loaded SWF (loaded by my Loader) from receiving some mouse events

it seems that the for the SWF where I'm having this problem, the listener seems to be tied up to a location in the stage or somewhere else, and so whenever I resize, the listeners is not responding on the right place, for example, the button appears on a certain position but the listener's hit test or whatever the SWF is using to detect the mouse click is positioned somewhere else
