Actionscript :: Flash: Disable Or Block All Mouse Events Temporarily For An Externally Loaded SWF?

Jul 14, 2009

I have SWF files that I load into my flash movie and those SWF files sometimes have mouse events that can interfere with dialogs and buttons in my flash movie. I'd like to temporarily disable the loaded SWFs mouse event handlers or block them from having any effects on my flash movie. My flash movie is AS 2.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Mouse Events And Button Mode In Externally Loaded Swfs?

Mar 31, 2009

I have an external swf I created, I used the Document Class to place assetts from the library onto the stage. I have a few Movie Clips I set the buttonMode to true on and added a few MouseEvents for when they're clicked on or rolled over to load content and make a few draggable.

It works perfectly in that swf, but since most of my assets are in the library and exported on Frame 1 I can't really use an internal preloader on it. So what I did was create an external swf that all it is is a loader that I add to the stage that loads the first swf I created.

That works perfectly for getting it on the stage, but the Movie Clips no longer are recognized as buttons and the mouse events aren't working anymore.

Is there anything I can do to change this?

Here is the code I'm using to load the external swf:

Code:
var a:URLRequest = new URLRequest("timeline2.swf");
var b:Loader = new Loader();
b.load(a);

[Code].....

ActionScript 2.0 :: Temporarily Disable Loaded .swf?

Jan 4, 2010

I have different swf's as different pages on my flash based website. Only one swf is visible to the user at a time.Once a swf is loaded it never unloads. To control which page to display I use alpha 0 or to 100 for the swf's movie clip holder instead. I use a blocker to prevent mouse events from clips (swf's) underneath. The problem is that the pages underneath still are active. For example you can use the keyboard to access these underneath pages. I want the pages to be completely inactive when they are not on top. The blocker only fixes the mouse event problem.

Actionscript 3.0 :: Disable Mouse Over Events For Combo Box Flash Component?

May 12, 2009

I need a way to disable the mouse over events for a combo box flash component as it is sitting inside a movieclip (A) on the stage, when I mouse over the movie clip I add a glow to a different mc (B) in the movie. Problem is is that the combo box is preventing the mouse over even in A to occur so B is not 'lighting up'.None of this works as it still appears to register a MouseOver event:

Code: Select allmyComboBox.focusEnabled = false;
myComboBox.textField.focusEnabled = false;
myComboBox.dropdown.focusEnabled = false;'s built in ones?

ActionScript 2.0 :: [FlashCS3] Dynamically Loaded MovieClips Don't Respond To Mouse Events?

var nFirstLineY:Number = (Math.round(Stage.height*.78));
var nLineSpace:Number = 22;
var nWaitTime:Number = 1000;[code]...

If I place instances of the mcLine MovieClip on the stage and name them line_1, line_2, etc., the function LineVibrate works, but when I try to add the instances at run time as above, the LineVibrate function stops working.

Flash - Block / Prevent Loaded SWF From Accessing Loader Stage

Sep 29, 2011

I have two SWFs: a Loader SWF, and a Loaded SWF. I need to add the Loaded SWF to the display hierarchy, but I don't want to give it free access to the stage. It may, for instance, attempt to change the scaleMode, and I don't want that to happen. What are some good methods for restricting loaded content's access to the stage? I may, for instance, want to allow it to access the stageWidth and stageHeight, but not the scaleMode or align.

Additional Constraints. I can't change anything about the Loaded SWF. Both SWFs are in the local-with-file-system sandbox. These SWFs are both Flash Player 10, ActionScript 3, made in Flash Professional. Not AIR, not Flex. I'd love to be able to implement a proxy class or a getter to somehow intercept calls to the stage, but I don't believe there is any way to.

I don't believe, for example, that you can subclass the Stage class and use that subclass in place of the normal Stage object referenced by the stage property in all MovieClips. The stage property is read-only, so it can't be cross-scripted by the Loader to point to something different.

buttonArray[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER, buttonRolledOver);
}

[Code]....

What i want to do is only play a sound with the roll_over event when the left click is held down.
