I have made a flash project which provides a UI for the user to input some text. The user can change the color, size, style of the text, and now I want the text move like a marquee in HTML. I have upload my .fla.

I am trying to make a scrolling banner like the html <marquee> tag that loads text from a .txt file. Here is what I have so far:

For some reason it only works by using the stop(); command. The problem is that this causes the animation not to automatically start when placed into an html page. The result I want is for the text to automatically begin to scroll.
How to make a working marquee. I have four buttons. Each button has a primary function of taking you to a different scene, and a secondary function where some text (different text for each button) is displayed in a dynamic text box during onRollOver, which then goes away onRollOut. The displayed text are all String variables in the script.
The dynamic text box needs to stay a certain size. The text is longer than the dynamic text box. So, right now, every last part of this works, the script pops into the dynamic text box and goes away just like it should. How can I make the text scroll (like a marquee) and repeat indefinitely until you onRollOut?
This is a marque if you don't know what it is:

I think it could be done by adding a letter to an dynamic textbox, but how do you take those letters out of a text, i don't want to put each letter in an action script, that's too much work to make or to change

The problem I am having is that the scrolling text displaying the song information is acting all strange. It only scrolls 2 letters over to the left and then 2 letters over to the right and also doesn't fill the entire text box (it leaves a section of empty space on the right side). What I want is for the song info to continuously scroll left to right like a marquee sign while each song is playing.

I'm using an old open-source mp3 player (musicplayer.sourceforge.net) on my site because the visual design does not clash with existing colors, etc.The author provides two versions of the player. (ea also has the fla file in case I want to modify it for a different swf) One allows the user to pick from several songs stored in a simple text playlist, and the appropriate album cover is displayed during playback. The other is a "slim" version that is just for playing one song at a time. In the first player,the artist's name (pulled from the playlist) is displayed and then the song title scrolls across while in play. Some additional basic text is stored in an accompanying actionscript 2 file. I have no trouble with this version. The slim version is supposed to do the same thing. However, it continues to marquee text of the player author's name regardless of what I change. I replaced text strings in both the actionscript file and the playlist but the player doesn't seem to extract them.

But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.

View 2 Replieswell i want to make buttons that on rollover move to left, on rollout move back to their initial position, and if clicked, they but stay this time at the final rollover place, and be there until something else is clicked. When something else is clicked, the previous button , returns to its initial place. So i ve got it all figured out except for the freeze and move part when the buttons are clicked. All it does now , is when they are clicked they freeze at the position i want, but i havent got a clue how to update them, after so they start moving back, and reacting on rollover and rollout, when the next button is clicked.

I'm able to use a .txt file with basic html elements inside to display correctly. But I now have a structured document done in ms word. If I copy the html and try to save as a .txt file it will only allow to be saved as .rtfis there a way to preserve all the font, breaks and styles from a doc saved in .rtf or can I do this in a different way.

View 1 RepliesI have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.

The enemy class has a bitmapped embeded into it. I am using FlashDevelop to program. When I do something like enemy.x+=1 it works, but when I try using my tween it script the enemy stands still no matter what the position of the mouse.

The painting has a tree which needs to be slowly revealed/drawn and then have its branches and leef move constantly.It sounds to me like this can be done in flash but I have never worked in flash before so I dont really know how to do this!Is that possible? And if so is flash the way to go or is there an easier/better way?
