Flash Warp Text Or Type On A Path?

I use Flash CS3 primarily for drawing. I'm a freelance cartoonist and I love Flash for it's drawing tools. Flash seems to only have the ability to create text horizontally or vertically. Other than creating the text in Photoshop or Illustrator, is there a way to create warped or path oriented text directly in Flash? that will perform the same way photoshop or illustrator does with text options? Below is an example of the functions in Photoshop and Illustrator that I'd like to perform in Flash.

What is the easiest way to create curved text (i.e. warp the text like WordArt)? I have read that it is possible to do it directly in Flash, but with no explanation how to do so. Thus, I'm not even sure if that's true.

I am very interested in applying the warp/deform effect seen in the iPhone app Wobble (it lets you define regions on a raster image and then deforms those regions as it gets input from the accelerometer or the user's touch as if they had adopted faux soft-body physics) to a game I am making, but I'm not sure how this effect was achieved. How I might program an analogous effect using Flash and as3?

I'm trying to build an RSS feed reader to display inside a swf on a webpage. I need to figure out how to create the RSS feed reader as it's the last bit I need to create for this website.

the same class is passed to the mxmlc compiler in SWF library as a symbol linkage class and again in a source-path. But the compiler uses the definition from the source-path so creating new instance of that class won't create new instance of the library symbol. How do I tell the compiler to prefer the definition linked to the symbol (the one dfrom SWC)?
I have my design assets in an FLA file and they are linked to classes (e.g. [URL]. Then I export those assets to a SWC library and pass it to the compiler. Now when I create an instance of the class (new MyAsset();) it will be a new instance of the library object.
But there are other classes too in the source folder (e.g. "com.myproject.model.*" so I need to pass the source folder to the compiler too. And that is the problem, now the compiler will use the MyAsset.as definition from the source path, not from the SWC where it is assigned to the library object so if I create new instance of MyAsset now it won't duplicate the library object.

I have completed a simple contact form using Flash CS5 and AS2. Instead of having headings such as "your email", "subject" and "message" outside each text field, they are contained inside each relevant text field and are made up of input text. I would like to do two things: To have the initial text (ie. "Subject") in a smaller size and heavier weight than the subsequent text typed in by the user. I would also like the initial text (ie. "Subject") to disappear as soon as the user starts to type in the same box.

So I've created a script where a mc is clicked on and the player can draw a path using the mouse. I'm trying to figure out how I can get the mc to follow the path drawn out by the player's mouse and when the player clicks again, it erases all of the path.my code is below

Why are text fields not catching events properly in Safari when wmode is transparent (no problems in ie/ff/chrome)? The only workarounds I've found involve sending html form field events to flash through an external interface (eg. overlaying html form on flash).

I am building little games never anything too big. I'm having fun. I'm getting the following error message 1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type flash.display:DisplayObject.
It's got to do with the varObject variable I pass into the hitTestObject (at the end of the code) a. I exported the moveclip for actionscript and gave it an instance name so what's the problem???

So for instance, I've got three .as files called 'Helicopter.as, Game.as, Blue.as'
and I also have a .fla file called Helicopter.fla (These files are all suppose to link together, to make the helicopter game) . In the Game.as file, I have the following;

Flash doesn't recognise the original Helicopter symbol (in the Helicopter.fla file, because I deleted it). But I want the system to detect the 'circle' drawn using API (In the Helicopter.as file). And I have no idea how to how to name the API drawn circle 'Helicopter', thus I'm getting an error. So how do I name the API circle to 'Helicopter', so the Game.as file recognises it.

I have a text file in the same directory as the flash and a text dynamic box with name: news, var: news. I need to load into it the text file news.txt.
