Mar 19, 2011I'm using the tutorials on [URL] to show me how to work through things. However, when I am trying to type text using the TFL setting, I get nothing but a blue box. I open a blank file, select the Text tool. It comes up with the cross-hair the a small capital T to the bottom right. I click on the stage to make the text box from the dotted lines/marching ants, then as soon as I let go, it snaps to the top left corner as a blue box. And every time I repeat this,each subsequent box snaps to the top left corner. When I click the selection tool, and make a box around the corner, all the different blue boxes I made fro my text tool is shown, but I still can't type even a single letter!

Apr 1, 2010I want to use the UI Text Scroll component on a text box. When I make the initial text box,it is the normal 1 line in depth, based on the font size. When I paste the type into the box it gets very long, which is fine, but when I try to make the text box smaller using the transform tool so that I can make it fit the movie, it makes the type smaller as well. Is there a way to change the height of the box, without it effecting the text inside?

Nov 8, 2009I'm trying to build an RSS feed reader to display inside a swf on a webpage. I need to figure out how to create the RSS feed reader as it's the last bit I need to create for this website.

Professional :: Type Distorting In Flash?
Apr 27, 2011this might have been handled somewhere else, I just didn't know how to word this error properly. Type is distorting randomly. This is happening with multiple fonts (and will show up in exports). I'm running Flash CS5 on Snow Leopard.

Other than creating the text in Photoshop or Illustrator, is there a way to create warped or path oriented text directly in Flash? that will perform the same way photoshop or illustrator does with text options? Instead of having headings such as "your email", "subject" and "message" outside each text field, they are contained inside each relevant text field and are made up of input text. Oct 24, 2011Why are text fields not catching events properly in Safari when wmode is transparent (no problems in ie/ff/chrome)? The only workarounds I've found involve sending html form field events to flash through an external interface (eg. overlaying html form on flash).

It's got to do with the varObject variable I pass into the hitTestObject (at the end of the code) a. I exported the moveclip for actionscript and gave it an instance name so what's the problem???

and I also have a .fla file called Helicopter.fla (These files are all suppose to link together, to make the helicopter game) . In the Game.as file, I have the following;

Flash doesn't recognise the original Helicopter symbol (in the Helicopter.fla file, because I deleted it). But I want the system to detect the 'circle' drawn using API (In the Helicopter.as file). And I have no idea how to how to name the API drawn circle 'Helicopter', thus I'm getting an error. So how do I name the API circle to 'Helicopter', so the Game.as file recognises it.
