I'm looking for a Flash Video Player (something like JWPlayer) that I can embed in an html page, that provides a JavaScript API with a method to get the exact timestamp (aka position, or frame-count) for the current frame.
View 1 RepliesI don't know how to ask this, but the thing is that i was thinking that how does youtube or videofy.me like video blogs send the video path & all info to a flash video player i mean when e click on any video link how does it sets up everything and displays the chosen video, because actually i've created one but in that i had to set up the whole page via flash so that it can manipulate the information like path & name of the video, and cannot use html links, php and all.. so can u people tell me how do i start up & how this process is done & what i need to do & other important things on this.. i mean sending any info to a flash player via any scripting or server side language.

With the Flash Player that comes with CS3 and on my PC XP Pro laptop.I want the player controls to appear at the _bottom_ of the video not on top of the video and not under (behind) the video.
- my video is 640 x 480
- so I modified the "properties" tab at the bottom of the screen to 640x480... (it was 550x400)
- but that just makes everything larger when I click File > Publish
- and then look at the video in Internet Explorer... the Player Controls are still _On Top_ of the video.
I guess I need to learn how to
- Make the stage bigger
- Position the Player controls below the actual video

Is there anyway to know the index of the open folder? there is a rowIndex property in the target property of the openItem event that stores the index but it is not accessible.
main.swf has a button that when clicked activated loadMovieNum 1.swf on top of main. I need a button on 1.swf to unloadMovie back to main (works) but when the main.swf is loaded I need it to go to a specific frame. I tried this on the button in swf 1 and the first part works but how can I get the videoindex.swf 0 to play a frame?

Any way to get the exact position for every character inside a textflow?, also I'm having trouble with the TLF documentation, is there anny documentation that shows more on how to work with it in actionscript rather than mxml, I am looking to write my own component and perhaps not use richtexteditor if I don't need to. How to get each characters position in the textflow:

Now i want that the USER clicks on vlak1,2_mc and the space_mc scales to 100% But the clicked vlak(1,2)_mc must have the exact coordinates as in the space_mc?

the space_mc zooms in to 100% and the _x,_y of the vlak1_mc are x100,y100 on the stage(800x600)?

Is the Flash Video (or Flex VideoDisplay) component capable of seeking to an exact moment in a video?It seems to always 'snap' to keyframes (which is understandable). I'm just wondering if there are any mechanisms in the video classes for seeking to exact frames, ie it should do the translation from keyframe to specific frame in the background rather than having to actually play the video forward to the desired frame.This is not a streaming file and has nothing to do with buffering. The player is just downloading a movie file from the web and playing it from memory.

I want to show a div over a YouTube video but can't get it to work. I know that if you set the wmode to transparent or opaque it should work, but I've only seen this work when the <embed> or <object> tag is used. YouTube now embeds the video in an <iframe> so when I tried it, it didn't work.

I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.
How can I have a video (or youtube video) play on loading my website with the option to "skip". If the skip video is clicked then that will redirect to the index.html however how can I set it up so that when the Video finishes playing it automatically loads the index.html in the website.
(If the video has to be embedded in the index.html so that the rest of the website is elsewhere that's fine too).

I find it odd that I can get the exact letter and index by clicking a character in a text field, but I haven't found anything in code that can get those coordinates without a user click. Seems like they would have to know the x,y of the individual indexs to be able to tell you what letter you're clicking based on your own mouse coordinates.
