Nov 3, 2009This is the very simple code for the page, I have stripped out the restof the code just to get to the bare minimum code to show the .swf. It works fine with firefox but nothing is shown in IE. The .swf name (front.swf) is lowercase.How can I show the swf in IE ?

Dec 3, 2009I have everything ready to bring to the next stage and so i checked online to see what it's going to look like (expecting it to look the same as what it does on my desktop):Notice the words at the top there (they appear after you roll your mouse over the word menu).Now when it is uploaded it looks like:I made sure to have everything uploaded onto my serverspace and I don't understand why those little words disappear?

Oct 24, 2009I am experiencing some difficulty in having the flash content show on this page. I have checked the code and the paths and everything appears to be correct. I have another page in the same directory as the swf file and it works fine so I know that swfobject and the swf file are working properly. Any ideas why the swf file is not showing properly in the first page?

Jan 6, 2012I created an application in Flash CS5.5 using Adobe Air 2.6. When I test the app on my computer (where it was written) everything works fine. When I publish the application and run the .AIR on my computer everything works fine as well. The issues comes about when I attempt to install and run my AIR application on a Mac operating system. In this case when the application runs some graphics are visible while some aren't. Some movieclips/buttons are visible while others aren't.One example of this is the buttons. None of the buttons in the entire application are visible.When the user clicks the area where the button should be the button click event is fired and the app acts accordingly (i.e. the main menu button which can't be seen still sends the user to the main menu). What could be the problem?
I had thought of just converting the application to strictly Flash without AIR but I require AIR for the file system api as well as a couple other api components.

Aug 23, 2009I am new to flash and having a problem with fonts not showing up in the font list. I am trying to develop my first flash based site and designed the base in Photoshop, using a .TTF font that I downloaded. The font shows up fine in photoshop but when the file is imported into flash it says the font is not available.

Flash Video Not Showing Up In FireFox
Jun 9, 2009Currently I cannot get my flash file to show up on one section of my webpage in firefox, but it loads fine in all other browsers. This is the second flash file that I have added and the first one works perfectly fine. The website files are all .php and is driven by templates.
I have wmode set to opaque as before and haven't used any different publishing .smv settings. However to have it show up I have to change the php file for the webpage and add a "/" to the <param name="movie" value="/new.swf" /> line before the movie file name. The file is placed in the directory.
The tricky thing is that in the other movie I didn't have to place this / sign and it works in all browsers. I have republished and republished and can't get anything to work.[url]...
Flash Skin Not Showing Up On Website
Jul 20, 2009I have created a video, gone through the steps in flash cs3, and made the corresponding .swf and .flv files. I publish preview - html and everything works great, the video plays, the skin shows up and functions flawlessly. Then, I put the .flv, .swf, and skin.swf files on my hosting server put the html in my site code, and the skin won't show up. The video plays on its own, and the space is blank where the skin should be, just the skin is not there. I have tried most anything I can that I have found scouring message boards, etc, but none of the solutions are working for me.

Jul 9, 2010a few months ago we bought a flash ready template that I customized with our information. I decided to update the website information and wrote new text. Now when I do the publish preview the upated text is not showing up. I have not change the font, color just the size because in the original it looked too small. when looking at the properties is shown as the default of font (the one the template came with) static text.
What is causing the updated text not to show up? I am not really experienced with flash, i am trying to figure out also how to see the code of the pages but i don't know how to do that.

I exported it and saved it into the root directory of my website.Then I opened the website and added it where I wanted it (on a Template) by selecting Insert>Media>Flash and following the steps.I added the files to my server and am finding something odd. Oct 5, 2010As adobe's phone cust. service is rubbish, making me wait for half an hour just to tell me they can't even try to help me with fonts that are not purchased from adobe, I have turned to this message board in the hopes that someone here can help me with my latest in a perpetual series of dillemmmas with this nightmare of a program...
Im using flash cs5 at work on a mac pro with juiced up processors, memory, etc. I installed a bunch of fonts, mostly ttf and otf and when flash loads I'd say about 40% of the fonts that I installed don't show up in the font list. This sucks. Adobe's good programs like photoshop and illustrator show all my fonts, no questions asked. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the fonts, re-starting flash, and disabling fonts. My one breakthrough was when i created another account on my computer and tried installing a font which was not showing up in the new user's font book. Lo and behold, the font shows up in flash! I have about 900 fonts on my computer which may be alot but I have used previous versions of flash with around that number of fonts and I don't recall any problems. I really dont want to switch my user account as this is a company computer and it will throw off company related access.

Mar 10, 2011first I tried to install the NewGrounds Ad component for AS 3.0 which delivers as an .xmp file. I doubleclicked it and in the Extension Manager it's listed as active under Flash CS5. I restarted flash, but the component does not show up in the components list.I then tried to install the minimal components fromwhich are delivered as an SWC. I went to the ActionScript 3.0 settings in flash, went to the "library path" tab and clicked browse to swc to select the SWC file. but these components don't show up in the components list either.

Mar 15, 2011I have encoded the Flash movies with the "ClearOverPlaySeekMute" skin and uploaded the swf to the same directory as the main video swf. The skin does not display. (in any of them)
I thought that the skin had to be in the same directory as the swf, althought I have read that some say it should be where the html file is. Since WP is PHP is is less clear where it should go. I have uploaded the file to the WP folder, to the theme folder, and to the include folder but it still does not display.[code]...

Flash :: Video Not Showing On Server
Apr 18, 2011I have created a Flash Video in Flash 8 and published and picked up in Dreamweaver 8. Published files were sample.swf, sample.html and SteelExternalAll.swf (skin). Publish settings were: Format - Flash SWF and HTML; default Flash settings with local playback security set to access local files only; default HTML settings.
In Dreamweaver, sample.html is accessed via an iframe in test.php. In Preview mode, everything is as it should be with the Video showing. The problem is, when I upload all the files to the Server, the video is not displayed including the skin. Instead, all I get is the border of the iframe with a red rectangle showing where the video should be.

May 1, 2010basically my flash works fine in every other browser except IE every page I tested in IE tester that has flash included, has the .swf half its size. Its not distorted rather its just small.Here is my object code.

Xml :: Data Not Showing In Flash Movie?
Dec 3, 2009I have a page.php with a flash banner embeded. banner.swf loads, but displays nothing because it is not getting its data from data.xml which is in flash/lighter/data.xmlIt only works if the banner.swf and data.xml and the banner_images are all in the root directory. That's not possible and totally unacceptable. So I did get some info here about setting a parameter like this :: :: which is exactly where the data.xml file resides. I figured that had to be the solution. Still no data gets loaded.... unless I have the data.xml, banner.swf, banner_images, all in the root directory where page.php which contains the object code resides. How can I make this seemingly easy thing work
