how can I define a CSS style for html hyperlinks inside a mx|Label component such as a, a:link, a:hover and a:active ?
(I can't use s|Label since it doesn't dispatch link events I tried everything (even really stupid ones), but am unable to find anything that actually works:
I have an <mx:HTML/> component in my flex air app that shows a web page. The problem is, if the web page has a link on it and they click it, it does not take them to that page. Is there a way to allow this, or a work around? is there a way for the loaded webpage to send Flex info about events that occur in it?Here is my code:
I am using Flex 4 with Spark components to build a mobile application and I have a HGroup that I am using to contain all of my elements. When the screen loads it pulls in a small amount of text that will be displayed and loops through all the words to see if any of them are a keyword. While it is looping I am putting each word into its own label element and if the word is a keyword it changes a few styles and adds a click event to show a description about the word.Everything runs fine but when everything is appended to the HGroup, there ends up being only one line and most of the text completely cut off because it will not wrap the content.My Question is - Is there a way to set or extend the HGroup to allow content wrapping on its child elements?Below are some code snippets of what I have:
I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:
ActionScript Code: function messStyling() { messCSS = new TextField.StyleSheet(); var messCSSURL = "include/links.css";
[Code].....
The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
I'm quite annoyed by the lack of link graphic management of the flash ide, don't you? In a web application like flash, it's quite surprising that I can link a static text but I cannot easily style it's hover/out state like html, nor simply get it underlined.Yes, I know, use the StyleSheet class and dynamic text fileds, yes... But no, that's not the way I want.
I want to add links to 3 different external html pages in the place of th 3 my trial links(which are on the timeline) Here is code, this creates the three buttons listed in var catBtmmenu_label Array:
Code: Select all// Catalogue Bottom Button //stop(); //hide button on the stage[code]..........
I dont know how to assign links to dynamic created buttons.
I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.
In textfields it's possible to insert a HTML-style link. Is there any solution to activate a actionscript function from a link like this in the text?I would like to load another text into the textfield when clicking a word into the text.
I'm trying to write a class that will have 3 parameters in a function call to specify: the dynamic textfield, an external HTML file, and an external CSS file. My attempts haven't worked, but I'm not getting many compiler errors. Here's my class file:
Code: // loadText // Loads external HTML file and styles it with an external CSS file // Created by Al Lemieux on 2010-04-19. // Copyright (c) 2010 Lemieux Design. All rights reserved.
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
So as far as I can tell list-style-image (or any list-style at that) is not one of the available css properties enabled with a TextField.I want to have a list of items with bullets in front of them, but using a custom png image for the bullet.
I'm importing html with <strong> tags and using CSS to style my text however everything it runs into a closing </strong> tag it adds a line break for some odd reason and i was wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this?
I can't figure out how to get an html link to show up in Flash. I know that I need to use a CDATA function but It will not show up as a link in my Flash file. I have selected the dynamic text field called "d_desc" and clicked the box "render text as html".[code]
I've been struggling with this problem for a while:I have a string containing HTML and I'm using a regular expression to get the characters between the tags. I'm then attempting to apply a TextFormat to those characters.The problem is that I'm using the TextField's "htmlText" property instead of it's "text" property (because I don't want the HTML tags to be visible). So, the character index that's returned from the regular expression is incorrect, when I apply the TextFormat.Here is some sample code which illustrates the problem:
var txt:String = "<b>Sample</b> string with bold text"; var tf:TextField = new TextField(); addChild(tf);
I have a main file,which loads some external swf files.These external swf files load some html text in dynamic textfields.These html texts also contain links.Is it possible, to link in one of the external swfs,using html?
Site loads two flash files at the same time with multiple dynamic text fields that load .html files with external css style sheets. The site works almost perfectly when viewed offline, but when you upload it the text boxes sometimes load and sometimes do not. I'm a graphic designer so I really don't know actionscript 3.0 (or any version) very well... so I'm attaching the footer .fla file which by itself suffers from the same problem, and the other files are too big to upload so here is the link to the other .fla file used on the homepage
I'm trying to create a flash player similar to the way Amazon's is set up, where the user can click an HTML link and the player would play that specific song.
[URL]
I'm just not sure how I would go about using the onClick event in the anchor to return a value to the flash player.
I am building a website through flash. For the past couple of weeks all of the links have been working fine up until now. I have no idea what I could have possibly done to make this happen. In HTML none of the links work. They are all linked up fine, I even re-linked some of them. Nothing happens. The buttons do nothing.
Here is my code for buttons(working)is there a way to add links to html pages to the buttons.// Catalogue Bottom Button//stop();//hide button on the stage
catBtmBut.visible = false; var catBtmmenu_label:Array = new Array("Visit: The Grange Kitchen","Visit: The Bergerie","Visit: Badens ");var catBtmtotal:Number = catBtmmenu_label.length;var catBtmpage:Number;var catBtmmain_menu:MovieClip = new MovieClip();catBtmmain_menu.x = 35;catBtmmain_menu.y = 231;stage.addChild(catBtmmain_menu);for (var catBtmi:int = 0; catBtmi < catBtmtotal; catBtmi++){ var
I had to create a flash file which has animations, an audio track and at the end a set of html links.
The flash file to have stop and play buttons. Correct me if I'm wrong but to do this I would have to render the flash file as an mov, convert that to an flv and import the flv into a new flash file and use THAT swf which will contain the playback component of my choice.
If so Now, the problem is how can I get the links at the end of the file to work as when I convert to mov the actionscript is no longer working.
I'm making a flash website, I know the basics of html and AS3, but this is my first time trying to use them together. I need only two interactions between the swf file and the server:
The .swf needs to be able to grab image files from a directory hosted on the server
I'm trying to make a legal mp3 playlist website using flash.I got the addresses to all the links of the mp3s in my directory stored as text in a mysql database.Now how do you access the links inside flash?I tried making a dynamic text field and then inputting the links as html text with html render text as html on. But they don't show up.
As part of a papervision project I need to render html text on to a plane. I've done this using a MovieMaterial and the html text renders perfectly as one would expect, except that any Code: Select all<a href=""> tags used in the html aren't working? Has anybody else experienced this problem? I've set the material to Code: Select allinteractive=true and that's working because buttons on the same material are working, just the html links aren't.
way to search a string for html links, the reason i ask is so that when my clients update their sites using external text files, all they have to do is type in [URL] and when the var is imported into flash it will be converted into <a href="http://www.somewherenice.com">www.somewherenice.com</a> so my clients don't need to learn lots of html coding.
I am calling one flash with transparent bg in an HTML page.. Now the HTML links which are below the flash area are not working. So how can I make them work. I knw though I am calling flash with transparent bg but still the objects area is same.. n all the links which are there on the HTML page that comes under that area stops working as they no longer remain selectable. To have a clear picture of what I am tryin to do have a look at the following url : [URL]
this is just a sample file you can consider..Have a look at the register now button..It will be in HTML how can I make it work..as flash comes above it.
Is there any graceful way one could have Flash leave FULLSCREEN mode (return to NORMAL) when a user clicks on a link formatted with HTML which opens a new (_blank) window? Currently, it opens the new window but remains in fullscreen mode (focus remaining on the current), so you never notice the window or have any indication that a window opened until you return to NORMAL.
It would be easy enough to do this with other buttons by throwing it into the MouseEvent handler function, but as far as I know HTML-formatted links (ones created with the <a> tag in an HTML TextField) only dispatch an event if the URL prefix is "event:", according to the docs:
Dispatched when a user clicks a hyperlink in an HTML-enabled text field, where the URL begins with "event:".
I suppose I can just throw the actual URL into the 'text' property of the LINK event and open a new window from there....but I was hoping there was a better way?
(Actually, now that I think about it, maybe in future projects I will create a simple urlOpener utility class which does exactly this, and handle *all* links this way so they go through a common funnel....)
Using Flash CS3 and created a navbar with AS 3. All links work fine to open html pages, but I'm having trouble targeting the pages to a specific frame.
I've checked and re-checked code in my actions layer and in my html pages.
Code for AS 3 is "navigateToURL(galleries, "_content");" "Galleries" is the variable for the URLRequest and "content" is the name of the target frame in the Index page. All files are local on my computer and the paths are correct.
