Flex :: How To Pass Click Event Along With Other Children
Aug 20, 2010
One of my decoration bitmaps covers up some important elements in my flex application. The problem is these elements become not clickable. How could make the bitmap not clickable or how could I pass the click event along to those children elements below?
how a ScaleX/ScaleY event propagates down to the children of display object? I want to step in at some point and "re-scale" one of the children of a display object that has just been scaled with it's parent. I can't find any event that is fired, and ScaleX and width setters don't seem to be getting called on the child objects. I'm working on an ActionScript Project (not Flex) in FlashBuilder.
I have a feeling I might be going about this all wrong. I have 3 objects (mask_cat, mask_dog, mask_sea_monster)on the stage and I want the user to be able to move them independently with the ol' click and drag. This is what I have:
what should i do to get chart's data on the click of respective data Legend. suppose i have array [{id:123, label:sales, year:2010},{id:124, label:refunds, year:2010}]for a column chart which has year in x-axis and sales iny-axis.two legend showing labels sales and refund. What i want is to get the whole data (id:123, label:sales, year:2010) on clicking of the legend 'sales'.What should i do? I tried listening mouse click event and itemClick event.
I need to call a component and pass an object. Now I am using event initialize to pass into the method of component but it seem to execute only once as follows. Is there anyway that I can make it call every time it loads.[code]
I have a TextArea that I don't ever want to be scrolled. When scrolling within the application that holds this TextArea, however, the scrolling stops as soon as the mouse ends up over the TextArea.
Is there any way to pass the scroll event to the application, or tell the TextArea to not claim the event?
I have a full screen flex application and I want the user to be able to scroll using browser scrollbars. I don't need mousewheel in the flex application and flex appears to block mousewheel events within itself. So mousewheel events do nothing.
I'm using an HTTP request to download a image in binary format. When the downloading is complete, I want to process it, but I also want to pass the image's ID to the complete handler function.
Since when using sql lite if you try and do a function at the same moment it throws an error, im just trying to make a function that will check if its executing, and if it is try again in 10 milliseconds, this exact function works fine if i dont have to pass any arguments to the function but im confused how I can pass the vars back into the function it'll be executing.[code]
I know the difference between the two, but I never felt the need to use the bubbling feature. If I want to listen to an event from a deeply nested children, I always use the capture phase. Could someone explain to me why I should rather use bubbling, its advantages, and maybe show me a situation in which bubbling would be the only solution?
for(var i:int=0; i<someArray.length; i++) { var loader:Loader=new Loader(); loader.load(new URLRequest("http://testurl.com/test.jpg"));
[Code]....
The second paramter (i) for imageLoaded is always 1, I guess because i no longer exists and is defaulting to 1. Is it possible to get that second paramter to be evaluated when the load is started rather than on complete?
I have a Tree, which has an itemRenderer. On the itemRenderer, driven by the XML conditions, objects are created dynamically and added as a children to nodes. These new objects shall trigger an event handler ( some click events mostly ). How do I pass the event handler to the tree and later to the dynamically created new objects inside itemRendere?
I would for the labels on the vertical axis to be clickable. So when a user clicks a label a click event fires and I can do something with it. I am not interested in clicking the bar itself (I know how to achieve that)
I tried adding an event listener to the CategoryAxis of type Mouse.Click but nothing gets fired.
Flex data grid has 1 default row created. When user clicks on the second row, a new row needs to be created and made editable.
Here is what works already - user tabs over the columns and when the user tabs while in the last column, a new row is created with default values.
Here is also what already works - user click a button outside the grid, which adds a new row.
(itemEditBegin and itemEditEnd have been implemented)
Here is what does NOT work: When I "single click" on the second row (no data yet - row is null), how do I detect that the currently clicked row is the second row and make it editable? Can I figure out the rowIndex from MouseEvent and use this to add a new row?
So I'm trying to build a tool that will allow me and other users to all open the same .swf, and then I as the Admin user am able to interact with mine while they all see my mouse movements and button clicks etc on theirs.I'm using BlazeDS to manage this and I'm getting data sent back and forth etc - no difficulties there. The issue I'm running into is this:
In an "Admin" instance, I click a button. I capture that X and Y, then tell Blaze to tell my clients to dispatch a Click event at that X and Y. On my client side, I get that data and dispatch a Click event at that X and Y - but the click is actually caught at the stage level. The click on my client side takes place UNDER all of my buttons and other content - so the whole thing fails. Is there a way to tell it to start the click event at the top?
Is there a way to write a custom event that gets triggered when the user clicks outside of that custom component instance? Basically anywhere else in the main flex app.
Consider the following mx:Button:<mx:Button click="doSomething()" id="myButton"/>Is there some way to programmatically emulate the user clicking the button? One obvious way to do it would simply be to call doSomething() which would give the same end result as clicking the button. But I'm specifically looking for ways to emulate the click -- that is something along the lines of myButton.click() (if that should have existed).
I want change the HBox's style when click any object inside this HBox. I set handle for click event of HBox, and then I found it very difficult to select item in the combobox in this HBox.When I click the combobox, it drops down its item list, and HBox style changed, then combobox drop up very quickly, I have no time to select an item in the Combobox. Here is my codes, is there any way to avoid this problem?
Now, I know if you click on "trends" then firstView "views.TrendsView" will be shown. Now you are in that view and click again on "trends" (bottom nav bar) which event will flex dispatch?
I have a Canvas which has many components inside it and those again, have many components inside them.
getChildren() returns only the top level children. What is the best way to retrieve all the children (children of children of children and so on).
Well, I sorta know how to do this by iterating through the children, but the code is really messy. I'd prefer to use a nice recursive function. Has anyone written this before? Or is there a Util class to do this?
add a click event handler to the vertical axis (or any axis) of a barchart in flex? If I add the handler to the BarChart itself, it looks as though the event doesn't fire unless you click on the actual chart, not the axes.
I have a VBox, I assigned a handler to click, and inside the VBox I have components such as images and texts with no handler assigned for click. Would the click function be called when I click on the text and image? If not how can I make it so without assigning handlers individually, but on the container level?
I registered a very simple button event listener in A.mxml:
<mx:Script><![CDATA[ import mx.controls.Alert; public function Handler():void
[code]....
It works fine when clicking the button everytime. Now I want to have something interesting, that is,I want to capture this buttonClick Event in another mxml file, say B.mxml and do something in B.mxml instead of A.
I am currently working with a drawing tool for a mapping API, and every time I double-click the mouse a map service will perform a measurement and display the length of the line that I am drawing.
I want to mimic this double-click manually by dispatching a MouseEvent.DOUBLE_CLICK, but the map service is not listening to this default Flex event. I suspect that the API has created a custom MapMouseEvent or something like it that is being dispatched when a user double-clicks the mouse.
Is there a way to determine which event is being dispatched when I double-click the mouse?
