I am working on application similar to [URL] how to add multiple clipart to the center rectangle. I can add one clipart but then adding second clipart/image replaces the first one.

I have a series of images I'm adding to stage from the library. I need them in separate movie clips for tweening. If I create a new layer... add a shape to the layer... mask the layer... finally, add a layer below that layer (with nothing on it) then all of the images I've added from the library are masked. No matter what I try with code however, I can only get one image to be masked. must you create a new mask for each image you would like to mask? I thought maybe if I could do it all in one go on a layer, there must be some code that allows one shape/mc/object to mask several clips.

It all works - But HOW do I access the added graphic synatically, so i can change its x pos?! Ive tried picLoader.x ... but that's the Loader - NOT the image...??

I am trying to load a BitmapImage from an embedded source image and add this to a UIComponent. I am attaching the code that I have below. I have not been able to get this to work.

When I run this I dont get an error, but no image appears in thumbHolder (My UIComponent).

I am going nuts! I have a canvas which I am trying to add a background image to. I am not setting the Y position, but after I add it to the canvas it always starts about 40 px down. If I trace the Y position it still says 0, even after a timer. I have tried to move it to the parent canvas and got the same results.

I am adding DisplayObjects to a Canvas using
ContentContainer.addChild(c);
Where ContentContainer is my Canvas object and c is the DisplayObject I have created at run-time. Some of these DisplayObjects also have children of there own which are added at run-time prior to the DisplayObject being added to the Canvas.

I then need to iterate over all the children of ContentContainer but the first time I do this, it says that ContentContainer has no children (i.e., ContentContainer.numChildren = 0). If I do it again tho then it is fine and returns the correct number of children. Is there something I need to call to get ContentContainer to recalculate how many children it has?

Hiding Images Outside The Canvas?

whenever I publish a FLA file I have, and load it onto a website, I see elements which aren't suppose to be within the frame sitting outside the frame.These elements are outside the canvas in flash and come in for brieft flashy moments but then fly back out again.How do I hide all files outside the canvas? I tried masking the top layer and adding everything underneath it and locking it but that never worked.

I've a custom component where I do some graphics (e.g draw a line) and dynamically add a subcomponent (e.g a label) to it.

If I base the component off Group (which is recommended as per docs since its a spark component) then when I dynamically add a label the graphics part disappears.

However if I base it off Canvas this doesn't happen.

Why is that the case?

I've got an array of different sized images. I want to place these images on a canvas in a sort of automated collage.

All my images have heights divisible by 36 pixels and widths divisible by 9 pixels. They have mouseDown functions that allow you to drag and drop. When dropped the image goes to the closest x point divisible by 9 and y point divisble by 36. There is a grid drawn on top of the canvas.

I've sorted the array of images based on height, then based on their widths.

imagesArray.sortOn("height", Array.NUMERIC | Array.DESCENDING);
imagesArray.sortOn("width", Array.NUMERIC | Array.DESCENDING);

I'd like to take the largest image ( imageArray[0] ) to put in corner x,y = 0,0. Then randomize the rest of the images and fit them into the collage canvas.

So - I see the scroller canvas with empty space on top. Then I scroll to bottom - I see the content of thumbContent and at bottom scrolling I see empty space too.

I want image1 to be inside of visual1, image 2 inside of visual2, and so on. the images are named like, 1960s_(1).png where the 1960 (year) part is coming from the rangeNum variable. i have been building a library that has thumbnails which you click to view the full image. i have built the application it works but i want to change the way the image on the actual thumbnail loads using code instead of manually adding the value to the url loader component.

the loop runs fine without the last line of code which i've commented out.the make up of these thumbnails are a uiLoader component which are each inside there own movieClip.what i wanted this to do was every time the loop runs it currentLoad adds 1 to its value then that value is subbed into instanceN:String and thumbnailURL address that bit works the trace statements read correctly.but my issue is using the instanceN value as the instance name path which then loads the current thumbnailURL value which is the URL address for the thumbnail picture.when i try to load the url address using the commented out code above i got the error .TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.the trace statements correct values below

the first value is the currentLoad value.

the second value is the instance name path.

the third is is the URL address for the thumbnail.[code].....

I have 50 images that need to be on stage, which will be embedded into 50 different movie clips. I named the movie clips image1-image50 and the images are in an external folder named 1-50. Every freaking article or tutorial I have found clearly explains how to upload one image, or just one at a time. I can do that, and spend 2 days renaming all the functions, but I do not want to do that. Is there a better way to just load all 50 images, place them accordingly?

Basically I want to go to frame2 when the cursor leaves the canvas. The code below contains no errors when tested but it still does not work.

We know that the function gotoAndStop(frame2); works in multiple situations which means the first 3 line is fine. I don't know if the problem is the MOUSE_LEAVE event or this.stage which i suppose is the identifier for the canvas. I sure that there must be an alternative code for the identifier this.stage or the whole code. Any solution on how to fire the given function in the event when the cursor leaves the canvas?

I'm making a slideshow with 7 pictures in it, what i want to do is add the images to the array.

image names/class(?) are image1, image2, image3, ... image7 and I'm adding them in a loop.

need help with that one line of code, and how to get the name right while using numbers in the array elements and, if possible, the class.
