Actionscript 3 :: Trimming Bit Of The Beginning Off A Recorder Waveform?

May 14, 2010

I've got a flash 10.1 app that lets me record microphone input to a wav without a media server, which I am saving to an Amazon S3 bucket.I have another process running on a server which gets wavs from this bucket, converts to mp3 using LAME and puts them into another bucket. This all works fine, but in converting wav > mp3, about 0.1sec or so of silence is added to my sound.In the application this are being used in, perfect sync is critical, so I need to trim off that little bit. If I have to trim it off the original waveform that is okay, I don't expect anything important to happen in that first fraction of a second.

What is the best way to go about this? I am using Adobe's WavWriter to convert by ByteArray into a proper waveform. Is there a way I can easily trim off the first few samples from my ByteArray without invalidating the structure?Alternatively, is there a good server-side tool I can use to trim the wav before running it through LAME, or an argument I can give LAME? Or, could I even trim that sound off the mp3 after it has been converted?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Trimming The Charset Of An Embedded Font

Feb 5, 2009

I have been embedding some non-standard Fonts into my Flash application using the "New Font ..." action from the Library pane. I exported the Font for AS, and there are no problems using the font.

However, from the reports, I noticed that the entire charset of the font is embedded by default. Since I only need the the alpha-numeric characters plus a couple of symbols, I was wondering if there is a way for me to trim the embedded charset (either from the Flash UI or via AS)? I remember in archaic versions of Flash, you can specify exactly which characters to embed in the SWF. Is this feature still available somewhere?

I wanted to keep the SWF lean and mean, and I don't want to load the font in run-time (some browsers disable font loading by default).

I'm trying to stream an audio clip via rtmp in as2. I'm not particularly attached to the method, but this is the starting point I am at below:

Code:
var s:Sound = new Sound();
var req:String = "rtmp://path/filename"; //doesn't work
var req:String = "[URL]"; //This works
s.loadSound(req, true);

I need to get an RTMP audio stream working, does anyone have any experience with this? (Also not sure if this goes in the actionscript folder or the sounds folder.

IDE :: Embed A 20 Sec Clip (with Audio) Plays Automatically?

May 9, 2010

Im making an animation to describe how a potential iphone app would work. Its going to be a 3 min clip not interactive at all, just plays right through showing how it would work. This is not for web. Just for presentation purposes.

By problem is this: Within the timeline, i need to embed a 20 sec clip (with audio) the plays automatically and when it ends the rest of the animation continues. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this without the audio and video being all messed or the video not exiting the screen once its finished. I hear all this talk of action script but have no clue where to start.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Audio Of One Loaded Clip Continuously Starts?

Apr 11, 2008

I have a custom player that loads several swf files and plays them one at a time (like a slideshow). It uses a preloader class that loads these external clips into an array, then begins to play the first one. The user may navigate forward or back, or pause.The problem: one swf, meant to play toward the end of the show, has audio that starts automatically a few seconds after any slide startscontainer clip is used to hold and play each loaded clip in the array, one after the other - however, to restate, the problem slide has audio that starts for no apparent reason when any clip is played. The audio for the problem slide starts at the beginning of that slide, but, when playing other slides, it starts a few seconds after they begin.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Fade Out Audio Clip When Clicking A Button?

Apr 8, 2012

I have intro audio music playing on a project I am working on. The audio is in the timeline (but doesn't necessarily have to be), and when I click a button to move away from it, it just keeps playing. I can use SoundMixer.stopAll(); to make is stop as you click the button, but this makes a rather harsh abrupt stop to the music that is undesirable. I would like to have it fade the audio track out once the button is clicked.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Using SetInterval For Idle Timer That Plays Audio Clip

Sep 26, 2007

I have a swf that advances through a series of frames by pressing any key. I am trying to set up a timer so that on idle (no keypresses for X sec), it plays an audio clip.

My AS below works fine, but if you press keys very fast it seems to get out of sync and plays the audio almost randomly (at least faster than it should). Does anyone know what might be causing this? BTW, I have tried using a keylistener which seems to make it even worse by affecting the volume level randomly.

//ON THE INITIAL FRAME...
myInterval = setInterval(callback1, 20000);
function callback1()

ActionScript 2.0 :: Playing An Audio Clip From Local Library, When Clicking On An External SWF Button

Mar 7, 2007

I currently have random external swfs of "Buttons" loading and unloading into mc_containers into my main movie. These load and unload every couple of seconds.

What I would like to do is have sounds associated with these.. So if you was to click on one of the buttons, it would play a sound.

I have tried this by placing the sound in the button "down" section. However, it starts to play the audio and then as soon as the SWF unloads to load the next, the audio stops.

My question is: Is there a way that when you click on the external SWF loaded button - that it would then link to an audio file in the "main" timeline/library ? This way the audio would continue playing even though the SWF has unloaded.

Media Server :: Fms 3.5.2 - Video / Audio Streaming Application - Audio Stops Or Lags Behind

Aug 25, 2009

I ran a simple live video streaming application for the first time with actual users and ran into a couple of serious performance issues that had not turned up during testing. In this instance there was one video stream from a live web cam and used FMLE at 150 kbps using VP6 and MP3 @22k. There were 16 clients and everything worked pretty good for about 30 minutes. (although some clients said their audio and video were out of sync by up to 3 seconds)

Then individual clients would have either the video freeze or the video would continue and the audio would stop. These clints had to "disconnect" and then "connect" again to the application. This happened to all of the clients at one time or another for several minutes. I stopped and restarted the FMLE with progessively lower bandwidth settings down to 75 kbps but still clients were having the same issue.

I eventually stopped the FMLE and used the applications built in publisher at 45 kbps and that seemed to eliminate the freeze/dropping issue. But of course the video quality was very poor and some clients still reported that the audio was out of sync with the video. The server hosting the FMS application is a quad processor dell with lots of memory and network connectivity. The Flash Media Admin Console performance graph showed the total Bandwidth as 3 Mbps at maximum.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Audio Synchronization - If The Audio Were On The Timeline You Could Set Sync Params To Stream?

Mar 11, 2010

Because the player optimizes framerate, antialiasing etc dependent on the performance capabilities of the platform upon which it is running, it was nearly impossible to ensure animation syncronization w/ audio. If the audio were on the timeline you could set sync params to stream, but if the audio is loaded programically forget it .. well until AS3 ..The following code throttles the player framerate to lock step the animation to the audio .. not perfect but the principal works ..

Php :: Recording Audio On Website: Red5 Stream Or Posting The Audio Data?

Sep 6, 2011

Let me first establish what I want to do:My user is able to record voicenotes on my website, add tags to said notes for indexing as well as a title. When the note is saved I save the path of the note along with the other info in my DB.Now, I have 2 choices to do the recording, both involve a .swf embedded in my site:

1) I could use Red5 server to stream the audio to my server and save the file and return the path to said file to my app to do the DB saving, seems rather complicated since I would have to convert the audio and move it to the appropriate folder that belongs to the user in a server side Red5 app, which I'm not very aware of how to build.

2) I could simply record the audio and grab its byte array, do a Base64 encoding on it and send it to PHP along with the rest of the data that is necessary (be it by a simple POST or an AJAX call), decode it on the server and make the file with the appropriate extension, audio conversion would also occur here using ffmpeg, this option seems simpler but I do not know how viable it is.

Get The Audio Level Chart From The Library Into View Along The Audio Timeline?

Oct 25, 2009

The images for animation load okay. The sound loads okay.  But the animation images need to be inserted in coordination with the sounds, which is difficult using only the ears  There is a visual graph of audio levels in the library window, which I have seen appear in the timeline also but only momentarily.  I do not know how to keep the audio graph on the timeline so as to know where to put the images.  I can keep the graph open on the little library window when it is open but not on the timeline. how to keep the graph open on the audio track while I work on the image tracks.

Flash :: Audio Player That Can Play Binary Audio Streams?

Apr 13, 2011

My server is streaming binary audio data (mostly mp3 files) to a client (a browser). This client stores the audio data in memory.

What I'm looking for is a flash audio player that I can input the binary audio data so that it can play the audio file.

Preferably, the flash client is merely a bridge to Javascript so that I can handle everything in Javascript and simply use Flash's audio features, but this is not a requirement.

Html :: Flash Audio Player For M4a (AAC) Audio File Embedded?

May 15, 2007

I'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).

ActionScript 2.0 :: Possible To Have Audio 'scrubbing' That Allows To Hear Audio As Scrub?

Jul 21, 2009

I was wondering if anyone could help me get some information on audio limitations in flash. Is it possible to have audio "scrubbing" that allows you to hear the audio as you scrub? Currently the only way I know to do this is by having it on the timeline, and set to stream. Using this method seems to be causing more issues than it solves. Preferably I would just like to load the audio in dynamically and then scrub through it. Is it possible to use that method and then still retain the ability to hear it as you scrub through it?I am having with the audio on the timeline. The main issue with this is that I have to manually add frames to the timeline, in addition to that I can not dynamically load the audio through xml. Well not that I know of.I think the best route is probably loading in the audio dynamically.

The other just gets hung up on one note of sound and repeats very annoyingly over and over.
