IDE :: Resizing Flash Movie To Different Size Browsers?

Mar 14, 2009

Because i design on a new mac book pro, my resolutions is very high and the flash movie fits perfect in my screen, just the way i want it to sit in every computer.

But on a computer with a lower resolution, i now that that my web site would be much larger and not fit right.

So how can i make it so the movie adjusts to different resolutions and sits just perfect?

Flash :: Resizing A High Resolution Video To A Smaller Size?

Nov 2, 2011

My company sent me a video that they wanted us to post on the intranet.  It's a simple powerpoint video with a narrator talking about some policy and benefit changes, etc.

I tried the exporting the video in both 720(width) and 1280 format, and found that when shown in fullscreen mode, the 1280 format was much easier to read than the 720, however, we didn't want to show it on the intranet page at full 1280 by default.  So I modified the html and javascript that plays the movie so that it would show in 720 width on the page.  The problem with resizing the 1280 video into a 720 space is that the video player bar (where the play, stop, volume controls are) becomes extremely small when I do this.  Of course, this is because Flash generated the player with a toolbar optimized for 1280, so it's getting scaled down when I pack it into a smaller playing area.

Is there an solution to this that I haven't thought of?  How can I generate this movie to get the better full screen appearance of the 1280 video, but also still show the video in a smaller 720 area when the user is not in full screen mode?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Audio File Works On Mac Browsers But Not Windows Browsers

Jan 13, 2011

I inherited a flash website about a year ago.. not sure what version it was originally done in. I've made changes on the model last year using CS3 Flash Action script 2, but don't remember the flash version when published. The audio in question is the music that plays in the background when you get on the website:

[URL]

When I changed the image of the model this last week using CS4, I published it as Flash8 actionscript 2... now, the music plays on Mac Safari and Mac Firefox, but not on the Windows versions of IE or Firefox..

this is the code called sound control

onClipEvent(load)
{
_root.soundstatus="on";
_root.mySound = new Sound(_level0);

[Code]....

then there's the stop() that's used when the music is toggled off..

I've tried updating the flash player in Windows to the latest release, and I even tried republishing as flash 10, just not sure where to troubleshoot this..

Flash Movie Not Lining Up In Different Browsers?

Jun 15, 2009

Not sure if there's a fix for this or not. I've had this happen to me on the last two sites I've built. I embed the flash movie into my site in Dreamweaver, and everything works perfectly in Safari. When I view the site in Firefox however, the flash movie loads a few pixels off (see pics). Anyone have a fix for this?I've tried setting the vertical align of the movie to "bottom," and I've also tried dragging all of the cells tight in the site. I've even tried rebuilding the site all together. As soon as I bring in the flash, the cells get off in FirefoxSite in Safari:

IDE :: Resizing A Flash Movie?

Nov 12, 2009

I got a flash movie mostly composed of bitmaps and not a lot of tweening animations or actionscript. I initially made it quite large but now my customer decided he wants it smaller. This'd prolly be a piece of cake if it was made of vector shapes, but since it isn't, I need to resize the source images as well (no point in wasting bandwidth or introducing resampling artifacts with big images). Most my movieclips don't have a consistent registration point so I'm afraid they'll move around if I just resized the images and updated them from the library.

So I'm just wondering if there's a smart way of doing this or should I just start everything from scratch?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing .swf Window Causes Stage Size And Origin?

Feb 14, 2011

When I create a little .swf file with actionscript it will run correctly in whatever stage size I choose for the document.  However, I want the display to update when I change the window size that the .swf is running in as it is running.  It does some resizing as I drag the corner of the .swf window, but not correctly.  I actually put the statement:
graphics.drawRect(0,0,stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight);into the code, and it is not drawing the origin at the corner of the window (among other problems).  Is this a bug in Flash, and/or is there some way around this  When I put the window back to its original size, it displays correctly, and this is happening for all stage sizes and aspect ratio

I wonder if any of you can point me in the right direction. In my stage I have a movieclip where I want to load several images with different sizes. This mc called "container" adds the loader to the stage so I'm asking for the loader width and height once has finished loading and then passing these to the width and height of the mc container so it resizes accordingly. But...it doesn't work. Here is my code:

[CODE]
var pic:Loader;var totalImages:int = 10;for (var i:uint = 0; i<totalImages; i++){ pic = new Loader()  container.addChild(pic) pic.load(new

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing Loaded Swfs - Increase The Size Of The Stage Contents Only

Feb 1, 2012

I loaded a swf from external. using loader class. But if i check with the width and height of the loader is differes from loader.contentLoaderInfo.width.

loader.width // 1250;
loader.height // 750;
loader.contentLoaderInfo.width // 750;
loader.contentLoaderInfo.height //420;

From this statement i came to know the loader gets the width of all hidden objects, which are already outside of the stage area. But now I need to increase the size of the stage contents only..

Movie Size In FIREFOX Larger Than REAL SIZE?

May 9, 2009

No matter WHAT I have tried.... a sniffer, no sniffer, stand alone on a webpage by itself.This slash file which is in a popup window 600x400 will not display 600x400 in firefox. It always is 20-40 px larger in both directions. I can't take it anymore!! What the hell is the matter with firefox his file is 6 years old for gosh sakes. It works and has worked online for years... so whats the Firefox problem all the sudden I am begging !If I can find a good flash designer who knows php, js, and html well, I am going to have future projects. But this little gem is a good promotional tool.... but the problem is......... FIREFOX wont display it right ! And why does firefox INSIST on putting the location bar in html popup windows! The window is the right size 600x400.... the flash is not... even with dimension definitions

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing When Loading Movie Into Another Movie

Nov 16, 2011

I have and SWF file I created from a PDF through Print2Flash. I am trying to bring it into another SWF file which is my navigation shell.

I am trying a simple test to load it and it work fine all the way up to when its time to resize. This is AS3 and this is the code I am working on:

[Code]...

This seems to work as long as I dont try to resize the container. repositioning the containg alone the X and Y works....but when I add the resize of the container to 800 x 800, I get nocompiler errors but the SWF doesnt seem to load either. Can someone let me know why this would be the case? I have found other threads concerning this but still the SWF I am bringing in just will not show when I add the width and height resize.
