I grabbed a template - that when I went to save it said it was an MX version - once I began to make changes in it re-save and publish it I noticed that some of the elements were missing. I thought it was something I did so I copied the entire directory and just opened the .fla and saved it without making a change and then published it and the items were gone again. I saved it in the same directory only changing the output .swf file and used all of the same html files

Flash :: Create Cookie Through Flex / Coldfusion That Is Readable By Another Template?
Feb 4, 2010Inside a flex app, I have a user login. The login calls a ColdFusion function as a remote object which authenticates the user and, if applicable, returns their id and access level. This works fine, but now I'm at the point where I want to also create a cookie for another ColdFusion template (called from fileReference.upload()) to be able to access later. I have tried several different methods for creating the cookie -- cfcookie, creating a cookie with JavaScript inside the ColdFusion function, and creating the cookie with JavaScript with an external interface once the coldfusion function returns to the flex result handler. All of these have been tried with a plethora of options regarding expiration, path, and domain tags.

Javascript :: TinyMCE Limit Text On ScrollerActived?
Jul 8, 2011I have a textarea in my rails application to collect content from user in a database. The rails application is further feeding that text to an XML-driven flex application.The flex application has number of fixed sized containers which wraps the text inside (from the XML created by Rails app on-the-fly), but truncates the text if it exceeds the container's height. Problem is; there is no way to present the large text in XML, so it gets adjusted automatically in the compiled flex application. And the fact is; the web-based rails app and front-tier flex app are entirely disconnected in terms of having awareness of their internal events. (like in this case; rails app has no knowledge of the overflow event for flex internal containers and relying on font-size and character/line count doesn't work in this scenario!)
Therefore, I wrote a JS function to watch and rescue the textarea's overflow situation and while setting its attributes (viz; line-height, font-size, font-family, width, height... yada yada) matching that of the flex control. The complex form in rails did the trick to have dynamic number of such textarea's control being observed by the JS function.Here is the Prototype code to handle the overflow event with the corresponding rescue code for cleanup:

Is there a way to get the scrollHeight and offsetHeight of the control created by tinyMCE?Is there a way to get the only-text version (without markup) of inner content of tinyMCE control?(So, when I truncate the text in check_limits function, it doesn't effect/breaks the markup/DOM created by tinyMCE for the formatted text. In other words, I would be simulating the user action of pressing backspace on tinyMCE control in the while loop.)

Jul 19, 2011I'm trying to read out some BitMapData into some kind of readable output.
Reason for this is I'd like to trace out the ByteArray and hopefully cut and paste its details into an .as file and then compare it against another BitMapData Object or byteArray that is generated within the app.
Basically I want to compare differences between the two and report back how many pixels or something are different.
It might seem like a strange or approach.
I can create a BitMapData Object, it traces back as [object BitMapData] - so I thought awesome just loop through the Object... But looping through the Object traces nothing at all back out.
So I tried to create a ByteArray and then convert that to a string, but all I get is wierd 'y' chars with two dots on the top of the char.

Ive managed to create a decent British list of words and ran them through the AdobeSpellingGen app to get a .zwl; great stuff.
However i need to add into this list a list of names, so they wont be flagged.
Does anyone know of a good source of either free, or paid for list of English Fore and surnames? Im trying BT as i type :)

The book shows me how to link input text to a variable and output that text to the output window using trace. My question is: how can I display the text that the user input onto the actual movie. For example... if I wanted the visitor to type their name into the input text box and click Submit and then a phrase shows up with their name such as "Hold on Name, my site will be done soon." How do I reference that variable and have it actually display in my movie?

Jul 21, 2011I am trying to trace a fairly large 2d array (many thousands of elements) to copy in some other code. The code obviously takes a while to run but this doesn't matter to me since it's a one time thing. I used to be able to do this no problem in Flash CS5, but now Flash is truncating the text somewhere in the middle so I don't see all of it. Is there a way to disable this?

AGConfig.xml is a file that is used by 2 different applications there is a config swf and a main app swf...initially you run the config swf which takes in MySQL Login information...and a event name.when you load the config swf all the fields are blank (whether or not the AGConfig.xml exists)...what I want to do is write an XML file on the server.I am wondering if its possible to do this using PHP? Jul 31, 2009I'm setting up an email form in an AS2 movie.
Everything works, and emails are sent properly. However, at the end of my PHP is a check to see if everything sent properly. It sends output=sent if all is peachy, otherwise output=error. Flash can't see either one, and lists as undefined.
