IDE :: Buttons On The Stage That On "over" Change To A Movie Symbol And Rotate?

Feb 15, 2010

I have created several buttons on the stage that on "over" change to a movie symbol and rotate. At the same time there is text that appears to the left in a grey area. All works fine, until you mouse over the grey area and text begins to appear and the corresponding button's movie starts. I assume that this is happing because it considers anywhere that there is an object to be part of the button it's self. How do i fix this?

ActionScript 2.0 :: .rotate Circle With Buttons, Change Direction?

Oct 20, 2010

what i have is a circle image (for this purpose lets say it looks like a clock). For example: when you click 3 o'clock, the whole clock needs to rotate around with the 3 o'clock btn at the 6 o'clock position (with the pivot point in the centre). each of the 'time' positions (2 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock ...etc) needs to be a button and thus be able to rotate around to the 6 o'clock position.This would seem simple enough by just using a.rotate value or using tween movieclips...however the tricky part is:the actionscript needs to determine which way the clock turns (anti/clockwise), dependant on where the clicked time-btn's position is. it needs to be some sort of if statement that says:if (3'oclock-btn) is positioned between 0 degrees (being original 12'oclock position) and 180 degrees (original 6 o'clock position), then rotate clockwise to the 6 o'clock position. If the (3o'clock btn) is positioned between 180degrees and 259 degrees (12 o'clock position), rotate anti-clockwise to the 6'oclock position.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Rotate The Frames When The Movie Is On Stage?

Nov 1, 2009

I am just getting back into AS after about 4 years so bear with me. I have a movie that I show and remove as needed on my stage. The movie just shows leader board details and consists of 2 frames of content. I simply want to rotate the frames when the movie is on stage. This is what I have inside my move on frame 1....

stop();
var myLearderDelay:Timer = new Timer(5000);
myLearderDelay.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, showNext);
myLearderDelay.reset();

[Code]....

The third frame is just a catch from so it knows to loop back to frame one. I am wondering if there is a better way to loop these frames and have a delay on each one.

IDE :: CS4: 3D Rotation Tool - Rotate A Movie Clip Along The X-axis On The Default Stage Size?

Mar 5, 2009

When I try to rotate a movie clip along the x-axis on the default stage size (I'm using a basic rectangle right now), the rotation appears just as I expect it to. It "rolls over" with the perspective even on both sides of the rectangle.

When I try to duplicate this in a movie with different dimensions (320x480) and apply the 3D Rotation Tool, the rectangle skews to the left for some reason. (See attached .fla files)

I've tried changing the registration points on the movie clips, I've tried making new files with the "Adjust 3D Perspective Angle to preserve current stage projection" box checked both on and off, and I've tried repositioning the actual Rotation Tool, but I can't figure out what's wrong. Could it have something to do with the stage resizing?!

To put it another way, I need "object" to be hidden when "background" reaches a certain internal keyframe. However, as "object" and "background" are both children of the same stage, how do I do this?

how to make a rotating cube for my website, today i tried to make that cube interactive such as making each side of the cube a button. so what i did was instead of using movie clip symbols to construct the cube i used a series of button symbols. the problem soon arises when i tired to fold the panels into a box. It seems adobe flash does not allow me to rotate a button symbol. when the symbol type is "button" all of the rotating parameters under transform are greyed out but as soon as i change it to movie clip i can rotate it.

Professional :: Change Speed Of Symbol Without Changing Speed Of Entire Movie?

I want to add an animated .gif file to my movie.  So I created a new symbol and then imported the .gif file to the stage.  This created the symbol containing the animated .gif.I dragged the symbol onto the scene where I want it.  However, the animation seems to play at a different speed (fps) than normal.  So I changed the fps of the symbol (at bottom of Timeline where it says "fps").  But for some reason this changes the fps of the rest of the entire movie.

I have similar code on button two and this does indeed make the buttons move into place as required. My problem is this, I need to load in external swf files into an empty movie clip on the main stage called container. These External SWF files have transitions and this is where my problem is. If I place a normal button on the stage it works but not if the button is inside a movie clip and has actions applied as above. The code next is what I have believe should also be placed on the button to make swf transition one load in.
