View 1 Repliesi have a flash movie with 2 frames. and i would like to call an external javasscript function on frame action.

Code:
var slideNo:Number;
slideNo = 0;
var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, showXML);

[URL]I have: main.swf (a menu) and I have module.swf (content)If you navigate to Subsea Wellhead Systems/SS-15 BigBore II and click on that I have it load an external swf which covers most of the parent. So far so good. My problem is unloading the loaded 'Child' swf with the button provided on the loaded 'Child' swf.below is the code I used to load the file but I cant, for the life of me, find a way to unload it.
var bigboreLoader:Loader = new Loader();btnbb2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, bigborecontent);
function bigborecontent(event:MouseEvent):void{var bigboreRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("moduletemplate.swf"); bigboreLoader.load(bigboreRequest); stage.addChild(bigboreLoader);
I am certain it requires the Child to communicate with the parent somehow but I am at a loss. If I could get a bit of advice or a link to something deal with this, it would be a big help. I just need to have my links load my modules and the remove them when the close buttong is hit on the loaded swf. I promise I have done searches and I admit I have found asnwers but still they are not working. I found the code below:
Main FLA:
function removeF() {
removeChild(bigboreLoader);
}

I spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:

My main movie (SWF A) loads another movie (SWF B) and plays it.SWF B is legacy content - I can't modify it.SWF A is AS3. SWF B might be AS2 or AS3SWF B makes several calls to a javascript function that would normally reside in the hosting web page.The javascript calls might use ExternalInterface, or they might use getURL(javascript: xxx) or they might even use fscommand.
My questions:
Is there any way I can intercept the javascript call in movie A? I don't want to have to resort to the browser, so simply using ExternalInterface or similar to pipe the request back into the movie won't work.
If there is a way, how does it vary across the different versions (ie. what's the difference between the child movie being AS2 or AS3, and what's the difference between the various means of calling js?
I'm working on a web deployment, using Flex 4.0. I would be interested also in whether this is possible in Air, or Air Mobile.
is there a way to write a program in php or javascript that can load a flash file and interact with it? (click on buttons and such)
View 4 RepliesI'm using an ASP.NET server side control for playing mp3, of course I can use javascript or flash controls for doing so, but my problem is that I want the music to be played only once (at site start up), and its playing should continue when user displays new pages, I've used this control in master page, I don't want the music to be restarted whenever a new page is loaded?
View 1 RepliesI've got a small (more than 100 hours of thinkwork up till now!) problem I can't seem to solve:
I want to populate an external loaded swf with an dynamicly loaded xml fil (loaded from my config.xml).
[Code].....
how do I get the external xml into the external swf as a variable for the actionscript in the external loaded swf (So I just want to put the path in the script in my external swf...).
Is it possible to use JavaScript to detect whether a .swf file has loaded completely within a web page?Assume that the .swf file is pulled from a 3rd-party website and we don't have access to its source code.
View 2 RepliesI know that most of the media in web pages are temporarily stored to a temp folder or browser cache. Some are directly embedded in web pages so that we can see the source and can save them. But how to save images loaded using any other method? You can see what I am talking about here. Is there any solution to save images from this site's gallery?
View 3 RepliesLike the title say's, is it possible to send data to my flash movie after it has been loaded? More specific: I have a flash-movie with an image in it, and from the outside I would like to be able to alter it by sending fe. '?color=FF00FF' to the movie
View 2 RepliesI have a media player, which rotates images for the artist it plays. I load the images dynamically into the flash. The flash downloads the same images from the server over and over, how can i cache the images, so flash grabs them from a local cache and not from the server?
View 2 RepliesI am working on a project that needs to have the swf controlled by an external javascript file, I'm looking for something very simple like basically telling the swf what frame to go to in the main timeline. I know it's possible because I did it 4 years ago, the problem is that project and computer are long gone.
View 0 RepliesI tried to render html page which contains flash content. But it not responding. Loads endless. Text and image contents are OK. Here is my code.
self.response.out.write(template.render('ieerror.html', dict()))
html file contains:
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />[code].....
I have a homepage with five "links" to each swf. Now the first swf I have a custom cursor that hides the mouse. When I click on that link it plays and when I quickly go to the homepage again it hides the mouse there when it's not supposed to do it.
Same with every other link. When I was busy with the first swf and want to go to the last swf of the five, my mouse just disappears! It is almost as if it keeps on "playing" without seeing the swf...
Here is the code that I have so far!
var currentpage:uint = 0;
//one loader object per project:
var loadingobject1:Loader = new Loader();
loadingobject1.x = 445;

I have an ActionScript program that I want to access some external JavaScript functions. By external, I mean that the ActionScript/swf aren't going to be loaded via the HTML/JavaScript. Everything I see recommends ExternalInterface, but that seems to imply that your JS loads your swf. Is there a way to call a JavaScript function by URL?
View 2 RepliesSeveral months ago for a project at work i developed a video player using flash, external interface and swfobject.js. I used external interface to facilitate communication between javascript and actionscript. This works great. Currently I am working on an extension to this that requires me to extrapolate logic from what i already written. I am using the same swf file in both applications, but in the extension i can't get the flash object to recognize my calls. Since i am using the same swf object i know that my problem is in the javascript, i just don't know where. I am using the JQuery Library. Without further adieu here's my code.

I am loading one variable from javascript to one main swf file which does have 2 more links to other 2 external swf files, i want to use the same var to be transfered to those 2 files when they are loaded
This is teh javascript in the header:
function CountryCode(){
document.getElementById('Spotlight_en_gb').SetVari able("ccode", "SU");
}
This script is triggered onLoad when the page loads.
One dynamic text box var name is ccode and instance name countrychk is taking the values and action accordingly, other two files need the same var to use but on LoadMovie they dont get teh value.
Here are the links:
1.
on (release) {
unloadMovie(1);
loadMovie("Movies.swf", 1);

I am planning to build a web page where external buttons using javascript commands like this <a onClick="javascript:LoadSWF( 1 ) ...>< img ... > and their code would instruct a SWF parent object ( embedded in the html code ) to load the desired interactive SWF child ( and replace a previous SWF child ) within it, where the user then could play with it.
My doubt however is, can a SWF embedded object receive external instructions from javascript code ? If so, how ?
I'm authoring in Flash CS4 using Motion Tweens.
Here is the situation. I have a JavaScript that closes the DIV containing my flash object. It currently closes after 15 seconds. That is supposed to be how long the Flash movie lasts. however, slower machines run the movie longer. this means the flash object closes too quickly and they don't see the entire movie. . . if I increase the time, the users of fast machines have to wait around awhile for the movie to disappear.
So, I would like the movie to execute the javaScript when it gets to the last frame.
I have Mac OS widget with flash. If to click on flash the URL in a window of a browser should open. But it does not occur. I use code like this:
DETAILS_HTML='object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="700" height="460" id="start" align="middle">'+
'param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />'+
'param name="flashvars" value=SomeParam>'+
[code]....
I'm trying to get javascript to talk to flash, but I haven't been able to get it to work.I've gotten flash to talk to javascript, but not the other way around. It seems as thought flash isn't listening to the javascript, or I'm doing something wrongPart of the AS3 to initially call the js:
ExternalInterface.call("showGal", slastSelectedNumber);
The js i'm trying to use is:
function showGal(dPicture) {
document.getElementById('fullsizegallery').style.display = 'block';
document.getElementById("flashGalleryContent").someFunctionName(dPicture);
[code].....
I'm not that good with flash and even worst with javascript.I'm trying to create a flash site for a radio station that will show information from the facebook fan page.I search over the whole Internet and found little or no info on how to do this. This is the code that I want to add to my flash site.[code]
View 3 RepliesIs there any way to debug the external AS file as i dont want to use "trace".I have an idea to use the input text field the check the variable/function is working right but this is not enough so is there any process in AS2 or AS3.
View 2 RepliesI have a flash application using callbacks to javascript functions (eg. when it receives some data over a socket, it'll call a js script which would change the content of a div according to that given data).
Afaik, there is no actual mutual exclusion in javascript so I'm not sure if I can/need to simulate something like :
[code]...
So, the question is, when are those callbacks called ? Are they simply queued to be executed right after the browser finishes its task or are they triggered randomly ?
I have a flash player with an external javascript interface: reloadData() I'm calling that function via Javascript when editing information on the page - basically to keep data on the page and in the player in synch. The reloadData() function works fine when the player is hosted locally. When we move it to the CDN (Amazon Cloudfront), the player loads successfully, but the external javascript interface no longer works - console.log(player) reveals the following:
<object type=,"application/x-shockwave-flash" data="[our_cloudfront_url].swf" width="920" height="404" id="player" style="visibility:visible;">
Uncaught TypeError: Object #<an HTMLObjectElement> has no method 'reloadData'
I know there are a lot of things that behave differently when working with items on a CDN, but we're using a CNAME to point to the cloudfront distribution
(buildid.ourdomain.net => distributionid.cloudfront.net)
We have a flash game embedded in a web page (using SWFObject v2.2) and there are some links on the page that call into the flash in the following manner:
window.document["flashObjectId"].flashMethod();
This has worked great on all browsers we have tried including IE7 and 8, however on IE9 it generates the following error: "SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support this property or method".
It does work in compatibility mode so I tried adding a meta tag to tell IE9 to use compatibility mode by default, however that didn't work because our game runs in an IFrame within Facebook.
I have tried referencing the flash object every way I could think of in the Javascript but I always get that same error message in IE9.
I need to register events in flex and listen to them in java script. Is there any way other than using external interface.
View 1 RepliesI will call flashObject.httpRequest to complete a http request via flash. The problem is there is no reference about httpRequest is an async method or sync. It is important for my application.
private function httpRequest (uri:String, param:String="", method:String="GET"):void
