Looping Background While The Site Still Functions?
Jun 22, 2009
Like I said in the title. I want to loop my background/a single element, while my people can click on the nav bar and look at stuff on the website.I attached what i was working on. The headphones will be fading in and out between a few different pairs. Mean while I need the nav bar fuctional and not changing besides when they click.
I thought looping through functions would be pretty easy but i've been working on it for some time now and haven't managed to make it work. What i wanna do is:1) Run function 12) After 40 secs run function 23) After 80 secs run function 34) After 120 secs run function 45) After 160 secs run function 1 again6) Back to step 2Maybe i confused you with these steps, what i mean is i wanna run a function and wait 40 secs before running the next. And basically i want this to go on forever. I've tried some stuff with setTimeout and setInterval, maybe i used them in a wrong way, but as i said i didn't manage to make it work.
i'm having a sound looping issue at the moment on my site. I'm trying to make it so i have sparks shooting out of something, and at the same time the sparks shoot out i have a electric type sound. BUT the graphics all seem to work, but the sound for some reason, just keeps looping even when i'm not moused over. I put stops for the sound all over the place on like every frame and still doesn't work. Is there a bit of code I can use somewhere that will just mute the stupid thing after you take your mouse off the button?
here you can see what i'm talking about. I don't have it on loop. [URL].. the way i'm getting this animation to work, is by having one big movie clip and inside that movie clip i have the sparks movie clip, and the blue fade movie clip, then i just dropped in the sound where the sparks movie clip is.
I am using Actionscript and the problem I am having is the I am running a for loop to execute a function which loads the variables from XML and then another function to load an external SWF which will load the variables from the first function. Here is the code snippet
Currently, createproduct will create a series of arrays with the new data. The displayproduct() function pushes the data out into a image loader. However, my guess is that the loop is executed so quickly, that the data becomes the last instance in the for loop and therefore displays the same(last instance) data for both displayproduct function. Is there any way to have a function wait till the previous function completes? That way when I fun the script, it will show up 2 instances of the image loader with the appropriate data.
I am used to working in Flash MX but now have CS4. You use to be able to just drop an mp3 file onto a layer and it would loop continously now it's not doing that.I need help in a big way to loop this mp3 file in CS4.
I haave a video background that im calling in through the flvplayback method. Is there any code i can put on the component to make it loop once it has finished playing through? I'm using as2 at the moment. SWF instance name is "theVideo"
AutoRewind is true in the inspector AutoPlay is true in the inspector
Okay so im making a game for a class...im using flash player 8....i need an actionscript code for looping a background that i have. i need an actionscript for having my character jump..
ive created a character loop for two characters that are in a walk cycle. when a button is pressed both characters change animation, now ONE of the characters is doing what i want it to, which is, change from walk to aim, then back to walk. but the other character is going from one animation to the second, and then just continuing to loop the second animation.
I've got a few questions about background music. Such as...
- How do you get music to loop in the background of a stopped frame (or multiple stopped frames)?
- How do you get the looping background music playing in a stopped frame to stop when a certain button is clicked?
- and How do you get music to stop playing in regular, non-stopped frames when a certain button is clicked (although it's probably the same as the above question...)?
I found a tutorial online that showed me how to create a looping background animation (falling leaves) but the code is in Actionscript 2.0. I am in the process of trying to covert the code to Actionscript 3.0 but there are still a few things I'm having trouble with (i.e. setRGB, duplicateMovieClip, etc).
I am trying to create a website. The main timeline has graphics, movie clip buttons and a movie clip which is the background of the content. Within the background I have another movie clip which has the text and fades in. What I am trying to do here is make the movie clip button trigger the content movie clip that its within the background movie clip. I tried everything but keeps going in loops.
New to this forum, but was wondering if the moving background on this site [URL] is actionscript or just an animation. It looks very cool. I wanted to use the same effect for a school project I'm working on, I am using MX 2004.
how I can add a random background to my flash site. This script should generate a random background everytime someone views my site... Exactly like this site: [URL] Visit it 2-3 times to see how it does it.
I'm building a site that will change the background depending time of day. I do want to show the time in the top of my page. What are good codes for showing a time and date in Flash and what would I use to change background depending on if the time is past 7PM or before.
Example. If the time is before 7PM I want it to show a background with a clear blue sky. If not then the background will be a starry night. I'm using CS3.
I am trying to create a scrolling or parallex background for my site. This is a pretty popular effect and I cannot find code for it anywhere on the web. The ones I have seen is for AS2, have used the if statement. Also, do I have to create an invisible movieclip that goes over the whole stage so that AS know where x of mouse is?
I've created a banner ad (attached) for my company and intended to have it appear as a rectangle with rounded edges (transparent corners). It seems like I need to create a transparent border or mask to have my animated banner appear in this way.
Can I add a mask or a border to the whole thing just to make the rounded corners transparent and see the background colour of the site I'm putting it on?
Note: the corners are currently white. I can't change the colour to match the site background as 1. the banner will be shown in different places, and 2. the background is a gradient.
This is other part to my earlier question that i posted before for those of you that came across it.Part 2: What i'm actually looking for is to do something similar to the Star Trek Movie website [URL]..for those unfamiliar. The bit that im looking for is a solution to achieve the full screen video background they have that simulates the user walking through the starship. Everytime you navigate to a different part of the website, this background video walks you through to another section of the ship.
I'm presuming its all flv, and i'm presuming its one big flv file divided into various "scenes", as the problem with having a seperate flv file for each "scene" is that it take a few seconds to load in between flv's and you get a blank white screen for a few moments (i've tried). Am i presuming the right method to go about achieving what they've done?
How do I get a sound to play throughout the entire flash site in the background? Go to [URL] and you will see what I mean. Its a great site by the way! In this "crucial limit" site, he has tunes playing in the background, and they keep playing despite how deep you navigate through the site, no matter what button you press, the song continues to play without stopping. [URL]
I see that the background music in my Flash site is located in a symbol called muz When I click the properties of this symbol, the sound file's location is listed as.flashsoundmuz.wav I couldn't find that sound sub-folder in the flash folder nor could I find the file. I tried doing a search to look for the muz.wav file in my computer but it could not be found. Does anyone know how I can find and save this file?
am not much a coder but am learning i just wana know how i can center my flash site/content/background on browser resize

I have assembled a preloader using the method from this site, everything seem to work except for one problem My site supposed to start from a black background and the image fading in. However once I placed the preloader the image dose not fade in but appears right away to the full strength after the preloader gone to 100% Looks like it jumps to a few frames after the first frame of the main swf file. Please take a look at [URL] If you reload again you will see how the image fade in.
The issue I am running across is this: I encoded and embedded a movie clip to act as the background. There are other animations that can and will loop, as the movie resets itself. But there are some elements that I only want to run once and not repeat once the embedded movie loops (link introductions, where objects fly in and transition into the button). How can I set the one time animations to fire just once, while keeping the embedded animation on a loop?
